Because some of the cast may have had birthdays during filming, I've listed their ages when the first episode ('One Armed Bandits') was premiered on January 26, 1979: John Schneider - 18 (he famously lied about his age to get the part) Cathy Bach - 25 Tom Wopat - 27 Denver Pyle - 58 Sorrell Booke - 48 Jimmie Best - 52 Ben Jones - 37 Sonny Shroyer - 43 As you're probably aware, John turned 60 earlier this year, along with our own Roger Duke.

You can tell he is full of love. I understand that actors can trick folks but Sonny is genuine. He really is a man who has a ton of love in his heart and a constant genuine smile on his face.
