My in laws and their neighbors lost power for a while, guess a tree took out a power line out by them. Sandusky seems to have gotten the worst of the wind, blew down one of the older buildings in town, the bricks crushed a few cars but nobody was injured. Brother in law learned that kittens aren't easy and now I'm trying to find a pet place that will take the little kitten in. The place that was lined up the other day to take it in is now full. Doesn't help that their dog is a mean varmint otherwise they'd probably keep the kitten. Wish their dog was more like Flash and less like Cujo, dang'dest thing is it's the same breed as Flash.

For all the BS that was coming out of all the local weather forecasters mouths all day we were expecting the storm of the century instead of the 2 minute downpour we got. 'Batten down the hatches', 'make sure your flashlights have good batteries' etc.etc... they said. Guess I should be happy we didn't have a bad thunderstorm but we sure could've used more rain than what we got.

Nascar officially bans the confederate flag from race tracks. https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/06/10/nascar-bans-confederate-flag-from-all-its-events/ On a side note if you have not bought the new smaller packaging Dukes of Hazzard complete tv series you might want too if you need it, it has been already removed from my local Walmart's shelves. Don't know if it's a company wide thing or just local manager's decisions.

I say let them do it then the ones calling for it will really know what it's like to live in a 3rd world country run by criminals. I know one thing if one of the cities actually does that all the honest hard working people will make a mass exodus out of there right along with a bunch of businesses and stores. I'm actually surprised there hasn't been a mass resigning in the minneapolis police dept. since the protestors are calling for the dept. to be disbanded. What kind of irks me is George Floyd is being honored like he was a Saint but he wasn't, yet Police Chief David Dorn who was killed trying to stop looters is basically being ignored. He's the one who should be getting a a hero's send-off. Have to get everything I had planned to do yesterday done today before the rain comes in since the car was in the muffler shop all day yesterday. They forgot to mention on their FB page that they only do drop offs now and don't allow anyone to wait while the vehicles are serviced. Due to the construction around here it took me over an hour to walk back home the long way and of course when I get home they called and said the car was ready . Told them I'd pick it up when the wife got out of work. Had to postpone a grass reseeding job too today which sucks as it's supposed to be in the mid 90's today.

Yeah obviously they don't have jobs. Everyday this week there's been a protest here or there around here. At least they were all peaceful except for one day. If you had protests in that county that's probably where the new cases came from. I expect within two weeks the USA will hit a new peak of covid19 cases especially in cities where a lot of people protested. Wouldn't surprise me if we have a 2nd lockdown soon. By the end of the month everything should be opened back up here in Ohio including amusement parks. Kayaking sounds like fun, last time I was in the water was in a canoe and had a blast. What kind of kayak do you have Roger? Was a busy weekend for us. From the in laws finding a 5 week old kitten behind the barn of the house they rent in the country and we went and picked it up to find a foster home here and then they decide they want to keep it so we took it back to them today. And my wife's Uncle and Aunt we visited last week needing a ride back home after car trouble. I ended up buying a bunch of plants at this one lady's annual plant sale and clearance plants at a local Lowe's so I'm gonna have a busy day planting them in my pots tomorrow afternoon before dinner.

Kevin Harvick won his 2nd race this season this afternoon at Atlanta, this win moved him to #11 in the all time Wins List. Joe Gibbs racing had a good day finishing 2nd, 3rd and 5th though it looked like Erik Jones was gonna have a good day issues led to him finishing 28th keeping the team from having all 4 drivers in the top 10. Kevin Harvick had a rocket for the final stage opening a lead of 4 seconds over Martin Tried jr some laps. Kurt Busch who finished 6th also seemed to be quicker than several top 10 cars but had trouble navigating past lapped cars otherwise I think he could've finished in the top five if not 3. Next race is Wednesday night at 7pm on FS1 at Martinsville under the lights.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ColeusColeus They can get surprisingly big in the right growing conditions, ones I had last year got 3 1/2 feet tall. The protest got rained out before they made it to the busy intersection. Bet that made all the rush hour travellers happy lol.

Got some gardening done yesterday. Planted the 6 Coleus plants I bought at the farmers market, 2 in the garden and 4 in various pots. Still have a few pots that need plants so I'll be stopping by nearby greenhouses this weekend. Some dang varmint got into the corn at my dad's so now I'm down to 3, hope I can find a few corn plants at the greenhouses. Protestors will try to block traffic during rush hour in one of the busiest intersections in one of the suburbs tomorrow. That ought to be interesting to see on the news tomorrow night. I'll be surprised if that stays peaceful with all the traffic that flows through there. Then again mother nature might put the kibosh on the protest as there's a chance for t storms tomorrow afternoon.

Please Don't Be Mad At Me!
Spike replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I think I heard that recently, it might be in one of the season 4 episodes. -
You probably just got a few wires mixed up, it's real easy to o do when you have alot of things hooked up to the tv. Try chasing the wires from the dvd/vcr to the back of the tv and make sure they are all connected to the right section. Hopefully your DVD/vcr player didn't decide to breakdown. Think there's only one manufacturer that still makes dvd/vcr combo players.

Right. It's unfortunate, but not surprising, the bad seeds are hiding in with the peaceful protestors so everybody gets lumped in with the troublemakers when they attack and loot. What I seen yesterday on the news is what more peaceful protestors should do, they were trying to stop some of the non-peaceful protestors and pointed them out to the officers. Like in Nascar Cautions breed Cautions, Violence will just be met with more Violence and so on. But as long as the protests are peaceful their message will be heard better as the news won't have any violence to cover.

Glad he wasn't violent. Hope the cops nabbed him too. We have an addict around here that has stepped up his game since some of the police don't care to bother with him. He used to knock on doors and ask for money "for gas" but now just breaks into cars in the parking lot if he sees change in them. He used to just come around at night but now he's doing it during the day. Heard from one of the neighbors that he broke into someone's car and they caught him and tried to keep him here till the cops showed up but he escaped just a few minutes before the first officer got here. One thing I like about the ring doorbell security camera is it picks up movement from farther than I thought it would. It picks up movement in the parking lot even though it's not facing the parking lot.

Local pd seems to be keeping the looters at bay here. They got word that the last local indoor mall was going to be hit the other night so they shut down all the roads around it. Protests today were peaceful and this time they decided not to March in a main road during rush hour. The farmers market was a bust today, only half the vendors showed up even though it was moved to a bigger parking lot this year. Hopefully more will show up in the next few weeks.

Was going to start on a small shoe rack project today but the local Lowes was sold out of the wood I needed yet the website said that they had plenty of stock. I just wish that just one time that any store's website would list the correct amount of stock of any product, I understand that it will always be off a little from shoplifting but it sure is frustrating sometimes. Guess I'll just try another day to see if they get some in one one of the trucks this week. Looking forward to checking out the first day of the farmers market this afternoon. Just have to remember to bring my mask and not touch things like I normally would do.

For the most part the protests here were peaceful this weekend. There was just a few agitators that tried to get a riot started but they got weeded out real quick. No surprise the looters took advantage though, one was even stupid enough to do an interview with one of the local news stations after looting a corner store . Visited with the wife's relatives yesterday and checked out their new house. Unfortunately the home inspection missed a few things which is costing them now but they have leftover money from a flooding issue they had the first week the lived there that will at least cover the foundation issue. They were digging up all the plants around the house yesterday, wish I would've had space for them. A lot of nice hosta's and iris's probably going either too neighbors hopefully or into the trash. One thing that sucks about where they live now is the internet sucks. When they lived in the city here they streamed a lot of tv, now that they live in a rural town they can't because they don't have the bandwidth speed. But it is dead quiet out there, so quiet that I could hear the tinnitus ringing in my ears that's usually drowned out by all the background noise here. When I was a delivery driver about 20 yrs ago I used to drive thru that town all the time and they finally grew big enough to get a 2nd traffic light lol. It was quite interesting to drive thru there again so many years later.

I think it's due to the no practice period before the race so basically what they unloaded from the trucks is what they ran. Some teams had a good setup but most it seemed didn't even after making changes during pit stops.

That was an exciting finish at Bristol. Chase came pretty close to winning but he over drove the corner and took himself and Joey Logano out with 2 laps to go. Brad Keselowski went on to win and Clint Bowyer finished 2nd. Jimmie Johnson finished 3rd, Kyle Busch and Eric Jones round out the top 5. Bubba Wallace was able to wrangle the #43 to finish 10th. Kevin Harvick's top 10 streak is over as he finished 11th.
