Maybe the ideal situation , well at least to me anyway, is to have 2 soundtracks. One for the country /southern rock and one for the pop music. I know that is too much for the record companies to do. George Thorogood????? HEHEE........Heck no....Dan Baird is definately not ike ol' George. He is more fun and witty in his music. Heck anyone who does in concert AC/DC's Sin City followed by ABBA's Dancing Queen is something else. I have followed both the Satellites and Dan Baird since high school. I saw the Georgia Satellites at a place called the Ritz in NYC back in 88 and Joey Ramone came out and sang I Wanna Be Sedated with them. I have seen Dan Baird numerous times over the years at clubs in NYC , he really is something else with his band.... Darrell

I don't think James Hetfield is the right fit to sing Good Ol' Boys.I don't know about him though. I didn't think he was as good as I hoped when Metallica did Skynyrd's Tuesday's Gone. Not a bad version though. I would love to see Rhett Atkins redo it. I love his version of the Eddie Rabbit song - Drivin' My Life Away from the Black Dog(Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis) soundtrack. He kicks tail on that song. There are probably so many people we can all come up with to re do Good Ol' Boys. And a lot of artists will do it proud if they ever redid it., well they better do it right. Darrell

MaryAnne Being that I am a huge Georgia Satellites fan, I can tell you what it is. The person who designed it put together the Confederate battle flag and the Union Jack( Flag of the United Kingdom). I think it was a great idea to mix the Southern rock and British blues together, as what the Satellites do in their music Brian - chevhell Thanks for posting that about the flags. Darrell.

I like Steve Earle . Shoot I have the albums Copperhead Road, Exit O and Guitar Town on vinyl, got them when they first came out in the late 80's. How about the song Good Ol' Boy ( gettin tough) .. I think one of Ste Earle's best albums is The Mountain - the bluegrass one he did with The Del McCoury Band and Train A Comin - the acoustic one he did when he got out of prison in the mid 90's... Where did ya hear about the stuff lined up for the soundtrack? Who is going to be on it? Darrell

Owlknight - Welcome to Hazzardnet Yeah ol' Jim "Dandy" Magnum is something else. BOC was a helluva band. But you forgot one song that BOC does that would fit just perfect in the movie - Dixie. Thier version is one of my favorites.... Darrell

I had to put a PS2 on my X-mas list , well the family list, just so I could get the DOH game. I might get it for my kids sine they will play it more than me and most of thier friends have PS 2....I still would rather have an old Atari 2600 , that is more my level anyway....lol Darrell

Like Brian said. Swap meets and car shows are great places to get anything automotive. I have found some great Matchbox and Hot Wheels sets and some Dukes stuff. Just wish I could buy the astual car and not a Matchbox size version...LOL Darrell

Pendragon I know that was very difficult to say on here. That takes courage and strength , which you have . You have gotten a lot of support from your family and friends. Just want to say, even though we don't know each other, that I am glad you have stayed strong. I love to read the stories you have written and hope to continue doing so. I still think Burt Reynolds will make a good JD Hogg. Burt has gotten more serious roles as he has gotten older . I can picture him playing a sleazy and funny sarcastic character along the lines of what he did in Boogie Nights and Striptease w/ Demi Moore. Or maybe being a power hungry hard-ass as he was in Driven... Just something to think about..... Darrell

I know this might sound crazy.....But Dolly could play Lulu....Think about it, Dolly and Burt have worked together before - The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. Maybe the people making the movie might not have to have Lulu as a big woman, maybe they will make her a very sexy older woman. Dolly Parton would fit that perfect.... Darrell

Great news.......I think that will be great. It will give the movie more seriousness, at least I hope. Maybe the director will drop out , for whatever reason , and get a decent director in that would make this film a good movie. ... Like I have been saying I think Burt would make a great Boss Hogg. I know Danny Devito is probably everyone's first choice. Burt Reynolds will bring ,maybe, a more serious side to it... And Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse, great choice.....can't wait to see him as Jesse Darrell

Johnny Great car. There was one for sale by me during the summer. Not the greatest condition adn I was thinking about getting it. It was a golden beige color with some faded spots and the interiior needed a lot of work. But guess what, I was too late. That car sold in about a week. There is something about those bigger cars that I love.... Darrell

I was a little kid back in the 70's when KISS was on top. The 80's weren't bad for them, but they did it without the make up and a couple of different members. Then when they got al 4 origianl members back together in 96 it was a dream come true for me. Someone who was too young to see the band the original band in make up , the 70's lived again. Now they still are using the make-up, but 2 original members left again, Ace Frehley - guitar and Peter Criss - drums. I can't see that and don't like it, but I guess it makes money for Gene and Paul.... Darrell

A lot of great Southern Rock and country would make this soundtrack. Let's hope the people in charge of the music don't screw this up .
