ITS BEEN CONFIRMED!! JESSICA SIMPSON FOR DAISY!
Capt_Redneck replied to MinDuke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
This was just posted over at billboard.com http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1000629485 Edited By Jonathan Cohen. September 14, 2004, Simpson Puts Up Her 'Dukes' Jessica Simpson has been cast as Daisy Duke in the film adaptation of the hit TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard." The role effectively serves as her feature film debut, though she did make an appearance playing herself in the 2002 feature "The Master of Disguise." Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville have already had been cast as Bo and Luke Duke, respectively. The film will be directed by Broken Lizard comedy troupe member Jay Chandrasekhar, best known for directing "Super Troopers" and "Club Dread." Chandrasekhar and the rest of Broken Lizard will do additional writing. Already an established recording artist, Simpson took her fame to a new lebel when her marital misadventures with fellow singer and husband, Nick Lachey, aired on MTV's "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica." She has played herself in countless TV appearances and had a guest starring run on "That '70s Show." The artist recently wrapped a summer tour in support of her latest Columbia album, "In This Skin." She and Lachey have also recorded a version of "A Whole New World" for the special edition "Aladdin" DVD, due Oct. 5 via Disney. -- Borys Kit, The Hollywood Reporter -
Thanks Stormy for the UK cars....But at least you know what the real cars are.. LOL..I just got Fox Sports World lat year and finally am able to keep up with soccer, ESPN doesn't give a hoot about it..Stick around here , there are really good people on here... I have been on here only a couple of months and they are just great and helpful....If you like stories aboutthe Duke's read the fanfic stuff, there are some great stories in there. I am not much of a writer, but I enjoy reading them. Those people work hard on them.... Maryanne isn't the only who likes to ramble on......Enjoy yourself here Darrell

Welcome Stormy Stormrider and Tempest66 to Hazzard(net)....I am sorry I missed this thread..... Stormy.. I have kind of the same question as Tempest about cars in the UK..After seeing a picture from another thread showing a VW painted as the General Lee , I then pictured a MINI Cooper as one....Are MINI's really popular over there still? I like that car , actually the new MINI...any chance you are a soccer fan??? Tempest66 Nice car.I still am partial to the 77-78 Trans Am SE , have been since I saw Smokey & The Bandit when I was a kid....That is my dream car... Hope both of you have fun here, it is a GREAT place to visit. Darrell

Just tryin' to helpful around here....It's funny that the movies I posted , I only seen one , one the American Pie movies.... I heard the casting stuff on my all news radio station yesterday..Yes I like to listen to all news radio,so don't laugh. I only do it while driving to hear the traffic reports every 10 minutes, we need that up here in Long Island..LOL.. I prefer sports radio though...We have NO country music station up here...... Pendragon1980 ....I like those pics you linked up.The fighter jet pic looks great. Imagine seeing that jet in come in a battle...They better watch out then.... I need a copy of that book..what a way to get your liscense... Darrell

Brian I know exactly what you are saying about who is playing Bo & Luke.Burt Reynolds , not even a thought until I heard in on here, isn't that badonly if they make the movie on the more serious side and not have him as a bumbling idiot.. Johnny Knoxville - MTV's Jackass Walking Tall (2004) w/ The Rock Sean William Scott - The Rundown w/The Rock American Pie, American Pie2, American Wedding as Stifler I can't picture Sean William Scott as Bo after seeing him in those kinds of movies....As far as Johnny Knoxville, I haven't seen Walking Tall, but had heard he was pretty good as a more serious actor... Just the look of both of those guys as Bo & Luke has me kind of down on the new movie now. Maybe they will surprise us and be really good as the Duke boys.. Darrell
-
I don't know what to say......I don't know if this is ggod or bad, although Burt Reynolds might not be that bad and might make the movie a little more serious.... I still don't know....
-
That is not good news....... That is GREAT news can't wait for that...

stoney_montana2004 First of all.....Welcome to Hazzard(net)...Hope you have good time... I like some of your picks...reread this thread and see what a lot of other people have.. Here are mine....not complete though Luke - Paul Walker - saw him on Dennis Miller or Jimmy Kimmel last night(can't remember which one) . He had his hair brown. Comes off as a smarter and serious person and I think that is what Luke is. Daisy - Gretchen Wilson - I have a thread about this one.. Uncle Jesse - Robert Duvall - just a great great actor. Boss Hogg - Danny Devito - needs speech lessons to talk with an accent though Roscoe P Coltrane - Randy Quaid - just picture him in that role Balladeer - Travis Tritt - I think they need somebody like that. Bo, Enos, Cooter - I am undecided on those...I will let y'all know when I figure them out.... I like Kenny Rogers as Uncle Jesse , but Robert Duvall is one of my favorites.. Darrell

MONSTER GARAGE REDO OF THE GENERAL LEE
Capt_Redneck replied to NORTHERNREDNECK's topic in General Discussion
I kinda rememeber that episode too. They made the General 4 wheel drive I think... Anybody know what episode we are talking about???? Darrell -
I took my daughter, 10, with me for her first concert. When we got in the venue, the usher took us to our seats and then took my daughter down to the stage to see the equipment and how it it set up. Lucky her. Skynyrd came out ,after the Sopranos theme, through the crowd. Started with a smokin' version of Working For MCA , then I Ain't The One. Skynyrd played That's How I Like It and RWB , those were the only new songs. The medley was Down South Jukin'-Bullets- Swamp Music. When they did Tuesday's Gone, the string part from Lyve was used. That song blew everyone away as did RWB. At times the crowd was louder than Johnny singing. Johnny was great, talking about Westbury and NY . Rickey was his usual self. Gary was just great. What else is there to say. LI rocked Skynyrd and Skynyrd rocked LI They played for about 1 1/2 hours. My daughter did not sit down at all, she was singing , pumping her fists, clapping , screaming. Our night was just beginning.. After the show we headed over to the Downtown to see Saturday Night Special. Finally met Mark in person and introduced ourselves outside the club. We went in and got near the stage. SNS opened with Saturday Night Special. The first song sounded awesome, I knew from that that was going to a special night. They literally cooked up on stage. When they played Call Me The Breeze, my daughter was brought up on stage to sing a little. Can you believe it? Up on stage with the band, singing!!!!!!!!!I was prouder than anything. Then they brought up Jo Billingsly. She looked great. She sounded even better. I can't believe that this band had both Artie and Jo with them. First time in 27 years that both Artimus Pyle and Jo Billingsly were on the same stage. SNS does songs that I don't think you will ever hear Skynyrd do, like Am I losin', All I can Do Is Write It In A Song, Searchin', Honky Tonk Nighttime Man. I closed my eyes just listening to Billy sing , Mark George and Eric on guitars, Artimus on drums and thought I was hearing Lynyrd Skynyrd w/ Ronnie. I have seen LS many times since the tribute tour, and they are good, but Saturday Night Special sounds more like the original Skynyrd. Billy sings juts like Ronnie, I swear .I have never had the chance to see Ronnie sing live, I was too young. Like I said listening to them do songs you would never hear live and seeing my little girl sing up on stage just blew me away. My little one was singing and dancing all night. This band is just amazing. The way they perform and act with the fans. That was my first time seeing them. After the show we got to talk with everyone in the band. Mark and Billy made sure we were treated right. The whole band was simply down to earth. My daughter and I got to go to Artie's room and she sat next to him talking to him and asking questions. Artie was awesome, he did not treat her like a little kid, but as a person, I thought that was awesome. She got signed drumsticks and a special drawing from Artimus. People were coming in and meting him, but there was daughter sitting next to him the whole time. We talked with Jo and got her to sign something. She is an amazing woman. I took pictures of everything, I just they come out. A lot of people took pictures of my daughter on stage too. This was such a special night for both me and my daughter, since this was her first ever concert. I don't think nothing will ever top this for both of us. Just seeing my little girl up on stage with the band....Priceless Darrell

Hey all... I am goin' to see Lynyrd Skynyrd tomorrow night right here in Long Island...I have seen them at least a dozen times since the Tribute tour in 87 ,when they got back together 10 years after the plane crash..I think I am excited about this one show more than alot of the others, I am taking my 10 year old daughter to her first concert. She is just as excited as me, she has been talking about it all summer..Now the time is here to finally go, what a way for ther to end the summer... Darrell

question about first season Dukes Dvd.
Capt_Redneck replied to R.J.1984's topic in General Discussion
R.J. I am pretty sure it wan't released on DVD. I think it was released on video tape only. Best bet is to check Ebay for it. Some people probably transfered it to DVD and sell it that way , so it isn't an official DVD. I am sure others on here know more about this and can probably help with trying to find it. I use Ebay and Amazon a lot for stuff, but there are others out there.... Darrell -
question about first season Dukes Dvd.
Capt_Redneck replied to R.J.1984's topic in General Discussion
R.J. There are 13 episodes on the 3 disc set. The Return To Hazzard movie is NOT on the set. Go to http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001WTWXI/qid%3D1094140848/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-1704051-1313713 that is the site on amazon.com for the DOH season 1 DVD set..Read the reviews from the customers. That should pretty much tell you how it is... Darrell -
R.J. I was just going by your screen name the first time, meant no disrespect at all..I use both my screenname and my name... I was just making some suggestions to save some money...I know people don't like to use the internet for purchases. But unfortunately the internet has become a major part of business and retail shopping. You are right , you have to be careful, there are some things that go on that will make you pull your hair out.. Darrell
-
You got it R.J. Here in Long Island there is a big store everywhere...Didin't know you didn't have one nearby up in Canada...Did you try Amazon or Ebay or any other online store? They usually have everything and sometimes free shipping.... Darrell

Moonshine and donuts.... ...That might keep me awake for work... Darrell

Where was the Dukes of Hazzard shot?
Capt_Redneck replied to richiep's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Brian.. Did you take pictures like the ones in websites that were posted? I am sure you did....I loved seeing the pics on those websites see how little has changed, except the Boar's Nest..It reminds me of when I was a little kid in the 70's, I am only 34 lol, visiting family in NC. When I was last there last year looking at pictures and showing my kids and them saying not much has changed in the town my family is in.... Well enough of my rambling.... Darrell -
Thanks MaryAnne I appreciate the reply about the Columbia House tapes....I will probably wait for the DVD's of season 2 and on...I have enough tapes cluttering up cabinets and a closet LOL...... Darrell
-
How many videos do Columbia House release? Did they do it by season or just random episodes....That would be some video collection then...Thanks goodness for DVD for space limitations.... RJ1984 - Why didn't you get them at WalMart or Best Buy or soemthing like that?? I ordered a DVD - Titan A E - through my local video store because I couldn't find it anywhere. Then shopping in WalMart I found it in the bargain bin for 5.50 , that was a couple of weeks and $20 extra dollars later....
