  1. I had to bump this back up since I just finished watching the the DVD set... I haven't seen a lot these episodes in a long time. I ma glad they sis the preview before the opening credits, I was thinking they wouldn't do that. I don't have any of the video tapes so I can't compare them. My family has enjoyed watching them together . We usually have a night when we just watch an episode, like it was on regular TV again. I got my 21 month old son going around YYYYEEEEEHHAAAAA.. He does it everytime he hears it on the show. I loved the extras. The BBQ actually got me a little misty, seeing all of them , especially Peggy Rea. That was a nice surprise. Now why on earth would CBS or whoever NOT have put this or something like it on TV. They have had cast reunion shows , Andy Griffith, Carol Burnett, Dick Van Dyke that have gotten huge ratings. The Dukes , in my opinion, would get huge ratings also. I had to rant about that. I like the fancy way of writing the DOH they used on the BBQ. I noticed it on the new calendar too...How long has that writing been around??? I have read that the DVD has been a very big seller since it was released, where I totally forgot and I'm sorry about that...I can't wait for the second season and for the rest of the seasons.. Darrell
  2. I see on Cooter's website , Cooter , his band aand the General Lee will be in Bucks Co, Pa pn Oct 9... I am going to try and make it over there. It is about a 3 -3 1/2 drive from LI to there, but it si the closest he is coming my way. I have to find out abut my wifes work schedule first. So I will try Darrell
  3. Dan. ..Great perspective on the General Lee. Let's just hope someone associated with the movie will look at it that way. I know this has been referenced numerous times on other posts, but look at the Starsky & Hutch movie, they used the car that is familiar to the original TV show. That car, a Ford Torino, was a part of the series as much as the characters. I feel the same about the General Lee, it is apart of the show as recognizable as the rest of the cast. Back when it was on and when TNN was showing it , but I don't recall any backlash from civil rights groups about the car being offensive, I was a little kid when it was originally on. Other than what has been cast , has there been any definate plans for the General Lee yet? Darrell

That was great and very appreciated...WE lost a lot of good topics and posts because of some stupid idiot....my apologies for getting mad like that. Y'all think you can get rid of me that easily....LOL Now I gotta get my posts up again...LOL Darrell

  9. Alright everyone ...Catherine Bach will be at the Emmy Awards on Sunday night. It will be great to see her out like that Darrell
  10. Tempest 66 Have you ever checked the magazine Die-Cast Digest for the value on the cars? That is a good magaize with a detailed list with values in it. I am not sure if the General Lee's you have would be in there , but it may be worth checking out. I have never seen the stuffed Flash . That sounds cool. Hope your collecting goes well for ya... Let me know about the cars if you find a value for them. Darrell
  11. MaryAnne Thanks . I have to take out the book and reread some of it now. LOL . I forgot about the errors with the cars. Unfortunately it is the only book on the series that is available. Hopefully they will update and correct the mistakes , maybe it is wishful thinking on my part. Darrell
  12. MaryAnne. Thank you for the rules..I am sorry I posted that link. I didn't even think of using the PM system to send it. Like I said I don't want to be over steppin' my bounds....Once again my apologies for doing that . Now will you take me to the Hazzard County Jail cuffed?? Darrell
  13. The first 5 episodes were filmed in Georgia and have more of that "down home" feel towards them...In my opinion they were the best of the show. The language was bit more risque than in later episodes and seasons. This is the way I wish the movie would be made. Wasn't it fun seeing the Torino from Starskt & Hutch and talking about driving like Burt Reynolds .... Darrell
  14. Just wanted to let everyone know Catherine Bach was interviewed on the tv show " The Insider" , an Entertainment Tonight spinoff....She talkes about Jessica Simpson and the Emmy's.. Here is the link... http://insider.tv.yahoo.com/celeb/2004/09/17/catherinebachinterview/ Darrell

  16. I saw that tour also at Jones Beach , LI,NY .I love Ted, speaks his mind and doesn't matter if he poltically correct or not. He was loud....Deep Purple were great, that was th first time I heve ever seen them live...Skynyrd was just awesome that night ....I was in shock when I heard Leon pased away, just seen him like a month earlier. That is another sad day in Skynyrd's history... Darrell
  17. Brian I would like to see the book updated when and if the movie comes out to at least include it up to it...It can be updated with cast pictures , maybe some trivia, maybe updates on the cast of the original series, or commentaries from them... They did that with the Beverly Hillbillies book. It came out and then when they did the movie in the mid 90's , they re-published the book with updates and to include the movie. I am hoping something like that happens. I think it is a good book, since it is the only one like it about the DOH. I also like your ideas of the fandom aspect. Maybe someone(publishers) will see that there is a market for continuing stories of a popular show. There are tons of books like that, StarTrek , Star Wars, etc. come to mind. All in all, I still think we are lucky to have at least one book on our favorite show. Well enough of my rambling now.... Darrell
  18. Hey Stormy....I like the lightning effect, it goes realy good with the wheels you have on in the picture....It looks like it will a nice Chrtistmas present for yourself..LOL Darrell
  19. Alright everybody....I will be the first to post in here....Does anyone have any updates on her? The last I seen of her was on Grace Under Fire in the mid 90's... Darrell
  20. I finally went to the John's site.I have no idea what took me so long..LOL I like the way it is set up. I absolutely love that cast picture on the Dukes section that has the whole cast including Coy and Vance, that is a great photo. the only ones missing are Lulu and Cledus.... Thanks MaryAnne for the link... Darrell
  21. I wish CMT here in the US would put the Dukes on.. I am getting tired of seeing Pure Country and Footloose all the time...LOL Darrell
  22. I just don't want to be over steppin' on this...I don't like to do something like that and get someone mad at it....This is not my site and they might have rules about it.. Darrell
  23. stormy Here is a link to amazon.co.uk for ya...... http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1580630383/qid=1095269578/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_11_2/202-3372203-1602235 Hope that helps..... Darrell
  24. hey y'all .. I just to get everybodies opinion on this here book - The Dukes Of Hazzrd (the unoffical companion) by David Hofstede. Maybe some ways to improve the book or just thoughts on it.... I am sure most of y'all got this book anyways.... I like the book, just wish that there were maybe a photo section in it, some cast pictures, behind the scene stuff.....things like that... Any thoughts? Darrell
