  1. I might be a bit late. Doctor's appointment. Save some egg nog for me.
  2. Is the 20th doable for folks?? Or how about the 23rd?
  3. Ooh! That will be cool. I remember Halley's. Hale-Bopp was even more impressive, took my telescope out to a friend's in Arizona for that one. Can't wait for this one!
  4. Folks, many of you have enjoyed the wonderful shows put on by Ray and the Northeast Ohio Dukes. Ray puts on these shows for love of the Dukes with money out of his own pocket, with no profit for himself. Unfortunately, his pockets are empty. He was going to stop doing the shows, but many have asked him to try to continue and have offered to donate to the cause. If you would like the show to go on and can spare an extra $5 or $10, please PM me and I'll give you the email to PayPal to. (I'd rather not post the email here, to avoid the email being picked up by spammers.) Thanks, Ray and team for all your hard work in keeping Dukes alive!
  5. Btw, our vet thought he was about 3 years old. He sure acts like a puppy still, though not nearly as energetic (he is part basset after all). LOL.

  6. Thanks. LOL. Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the game today. My hubby was glad the Jets won today. We're watching it on DVR right now.

  7. I second that sentiment, Rog. And an early Happy Birthday to Hoss.
  8. Glad you're ok, Rog. I have a friend in NY whose house is under water! My family and other friends back east weathered the storm just fine with only minor power outages and inconveniences.
  9. I hope all y'all in Sandy's path are ok. If you east coast folk could check in here and let us know you're ok, we'd appreciate it! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
  10. Little Troy boy had his first vet visit today. They fawned all over him. He was the talk of the vet office. He's such a wonderful little guy, we're so glad we found him. He's just pure joy! Oh, and we heard him bark for the first time yesterday. Would you believe a deep basset hound bark comes out of that little body? LOL. Sounds a lot like Flash.
  11. I sent you a b-day message on FaceBook on your birthday, but forgot to post on HNet. Shame on me. Anyway, a belated (on HNet) birthday to you, Val.
  12. Hi! Welcome back, DaisyMae.
  13. We're ecstatic. He's such a sweet, mellow guy. We don't know if he's 2 years old or 5 or anywhere in between, but however old he is, he'll have a happy rest of his life here. That's a strange numeric coincidence, btw.

  14. Every so often, he'll wake up and look at me like "I'm here to stay, right? You're not going to shuffle me off to someone else tomorrow, right?" He's so mellow. (In fact, one of our nicknames for him is Mellow Yellow. LOL.) I was sitting next to him, talking on the phone, and stroking his chin. He fell asleep so deeply that he started dreaming. I think he'll adapt very quickly to life around here. We're laid back and he seems very laid back. We occasionally like to hike a nature trail or walk at the lake and he seems like he'd be up for that too. On the way home from adopting him, we stopped at Petco. When I came back out to the car from paying for a few things, he had hopped over into the front passenger seat, curled up nice and comfy. My hubby looked at me from the driver's side and I said "Guess I'm sitting in the back seat on the way home." He just said "Yep." LOL. Already "the boys" are conspiring against me. LOL. The next door neighbor kids already love him. Troy tried to crawl up into their truck (they were leaving on vacation) and the kids tried to help him. LOL! We definitely put a stop to THAT! No absconding with our new puppy. It's been a whirlwind. It hasn't even been 24 hours since I found out about this little guy and in that time, I contacted the rescue folks, filled out an application, they flew him here from back east, and we met him at the adoption event. It all went so smoothly and quickly, like it was just meant to be.
  15. Welcome to HazzardNet! You'll enjoy your stay here.
  16. This is Troy. We adopted him today! He's a yellow lab/basset hound mix, looks like he might have a little beagle thrown in. We call him a labradasset. LOL. He's certainly living up to his basset heritage right now. He's been snoozing most of the day after bringing him home. Probably all that stress of being in a shelter and traveling. He's a very mellow fellow, very cuddly, and so far, very quiet. He's made himself right at home on our old couch and he's welcome to it. (I think he's already figured out he's going to get spoiled.) I think Flash would certainly approve of this little guy.
  17. Cooter's Place recently announced a new event, Dukes of Hazzard Reunion In Georgia, to take place in March. Check out this post for details: http://www.hazzardnet.com/blog/2012/10/15/dukes-of-hazzard-reunion-in-georgia/
  18. Count yourself fortunate, Roger. I grew up in the city, in Southern California. We were lucky if we could count 7 stars on a good night. We had to head up into the hills for good stargazing and to watch the meteor showers. There's still light pollution where I live now, but we can see plenty more stars. I find myself looking to the heavens more often now.
  19. It's been a rough week. We lost our dog Sadie suddenly and unexpectedly this week. She was the light of our life and to say we're devastated is an understatement. As Jimmie told me, there are no words in the English dictionary or anywhere else to describe the pain of losing a dearest pet, and he's right. We're simply lost without her and the house seems so empty. No whining when it's time for dinner, no tail wagging when we get home, no howling at the doorbell when someone's at the door. Rest in peace, baby dog. We miss you so much.
  20. Thanks for sharing, wekke. I remember your website. Feel free to post whatever info and photos you have here. Those types of threads tend to be very popular here. Glad to hear things are going well with you. I was wondering what you were up to when I noticed your site was gone.
  21. Chicago vs. Dallas on Monday night. We still have a bit left on the Applebee's gift card my mom sent us, so we'll probably catch a bit of the game then.
  22. Very fitting, Hoss. I was saddened to hear of his passing. I love Mancini and Andy sang it beautifully. Moon River is one of my favorites. RIP Andy.
  23. Thanks, Rog. That first post was a little premature. Still had some problems, but it looks like I may have fixed things as of yesterday evening. It's been 20 hours since I've seen any symptoms of the issues the site was having. You all probably didn't notice much, but I was seeing the disk space fill up fast on the backend due to these errors. Well, that's a load off my mind... and the server. LOL.
  24. Grumble, grumble. I know you guys haven't seen me around much lately, but I've been here, in the background, putting out fires and restarting the server a bazillion times (it seems). So, if you've smelled any smoke around HazzardNet, that was me! LOL. For quite some time, I've been trying to track down some issues with the new server that have been driving me nuts. If any of you notice any slowness on the site, error messages, etc, please post about them here. If you can PM me and copy/paste any error messages you get, I'd appreciate that, too. I *think* I may have fixed the latest issue that was filling up the hard disk with errors (fingers crossed), but I'm not sure yet. Time to go to bed. I'm on my second overnighter in a row working on this server. On a strange side note, when we first moved HNet to the new server, the chatroom was broken and I never got around to fixing it. It's now miraculously working now. Apparently, HazzardNet is self-healing... except for this one other issue I can't figure out. LOL.
