"Lynching" has a negative connotation even beyond anything that applies to race. It is taking the law into one's own hands to execute someone who may or may not be guilty of wrongdoing. That's also something I strongly disagree with.

I don't like that word being used no matter how you meant it. The connotation will always be negative and doesn't help your argument in the least. In fact, it hurts it... a lot. Here you are presenting an argument about Dukes not being racist and then you advocate lynching, albeit it "verbal". Not good.

Sorry, I don't agree with this at all and it's rather inflammatory. I suggest you tone it down. I don't believe anybody should be lynched for free speech, even if I don't agree with it.

Most definitely. It's basically the ONLY reason we still have cable at the moment. If we can get a better antenna that picks up MeTV (we have a hill in the way), we'd dump cable altogether and live off MeTV and Netflix streaming. Classic TV heaven. I don't mind some 80's programming like Magnum PI, Simon & Simon, Dukes, etc, but yeah, there's plenty of 80's tv I wouldn't want on there. LOL. That's where TV Land went wrong, putting more recent shows on (Boston Legal? Really?) and all these new "original programming" and reality tv shows. I'm content with the 50's, 60's, and 70's. On nights I'm up late, I've caught some Mission Impossible, 12 O' Clock High, and Combat! too. In fact, the Combat! episode with Jimmie was on just a few weeks ago, as was the Jess-Belle episode of Twilight Zone. There are always very recognizable character actors on those old shows... some who've even been on Dukes! My hubby and I love old horror/sci-fi/b movies, so we catch Svengoolie every Saturday. We pop up some popcorn and turn the lights off. Saturday is definitely "family viewing" night in our household.

I absolutely LIVE on MeTV. Best durn thing to happen to television, IMO. LOL. The Rifleman, Kojak, and Rockford is on during the week in the afternoon and Cheers, The Odd Couple, Honeymooners, and Twilight Zone in the evening. Saturdays evenings are full with Batman, Lost In Space, Star Trek, Svengoolie, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and Get Smart. I haven't watched this much tv in years. LOL. It's much better than most of the new stuff they're putting out. Heck, they're trying to do reboots of a lot of these shows and failing miserably because they don't have the same chemistry and charm as the originals. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, TNN. I loved TNN when it was on the air. We do have an antenna, so we might be checking it out when it's back on the air.

It was a CBS show, Roger. If you want to watch it online, it's on Hulu. The first season is more serious sci-fi, while the second and third seasons are much more campy/silly. They were going up against Batman at the time. Like Dukes, it's good family entertainment, IMO. Lost In Space was one of the shows I used to catch in syndication on the weekends when I was little, along with Twilight Zone, The Munsters, Addams Family, Batman, Star Trek, Three Stooges, F-Troop, etc...

Aside from Dukes of Hazzard, one of my other favorite shows is Lost In Space. One thing I've noticed is that both Dr. Smith and Rosco have similar catchphrases. Coincidence? I don't know. But it lead me to do this...

I beg to differ. You can't be a genius and an idiot at the same time. Genius is mainly a measurement of your intelligence, which varies very little. So is the label "idiot". So, if you're a genius, barring any horrible accident or medical malady, you will continue to be a genius. However, as I said earlier, there's a difference between being an idiot and acting idiotic. Geniuses can act idiotic on occasion, but they're not "idiots". (And for the record, I've been pulling your leg. I'm not offended in the least.) Thought you guys never thought you'd see a conversation like THIS on HazzardNet, eh?

*ahem* I have never been "Head Idiot". Mastermind, yes. Genius, yes. Evil genius, occasionally. Good genius, eh, maybe. Head idiot, never. (My IQ was solidly in genius range in college. Have I also mentioned I'm very humble? LOL. Perhaps we should have a contest to guess my IQ!) Brian, an evil genius? More like mildly delinquent rascal with more than enough smarts to get himself out of all the trouble he gets himself into. LOL. Definitely not an idiot... above average IQ. MaryAnne is hardly an idiot either. More like the glue that holds this place together (when she's not tripping over power cords), also with an above average IQ. It's because we're all so smart that we're also very lazy. There's a difference between being an idiot and acting idiotic. LOL.

It's a good possibility that's a Buck 110. I own one. The knife blade is about 3 1/2" and altogether the knife is a little under 9" in length opened. That's my Buck 110 on the right and my Buck 55 pocket knife on the left. I got mine at Amazon and for about half of the price on the Buck website.

And let us not forget HazzardNet's occasional brief bouts of sentience. Sometimes it even surprises us with what it does. Now, if only it could start managing itself, I could slack off and stop paying these two jokers... er, I mean, valued members of the staff.

See, that would be the smart thing to do, so we automatically ruled that idea out. I think that's one of our mottos. "Banishing common sense since 1999..." Oh, we've deleted whole people before. I hope their families don't miss them too much. They didn't contribute much here anyway, so it wasn't a big loss or anything. LOL. We've accidentally launched folks into the outer atmosphere when we simply meant to punt them out the door for a little bit. Of course, some of that happened before you got here, countrygirl. I recall a lot of interesting things happened when we switched forum software. Yeah, that was fun. It's a good thing I understand all the technical stuff, cuz if it was left up to Brian and MaryAnne, y'all would be using tin cans with strings to talk to each other. Really long strings.

Between the 3 of us, we have well over a century of experience. Experience in loafing, tripping over the server power cords, accidentally deleting things, making inappropriate comments, harassing each other, hatching devious schemes, and other important skills you need to get through life.
