I sure did. The first half of his life was pretty tough. He's having a great time in the second half though.

Welcome to Hazzard County Andy. I like your screen name. It reminds me of that saying "You're only young once but you can be immature forever" By the way, did you mean you're building a real car or a model? I'm not sure what a diorama is but I bet you're good at it.

That's funny Hoss. She's never been a fan but I married her anyways because she's perfect except for that one fault. I have to admit, it is a pretty big fault though. Oh well, I'm not a fan of General Hospital and she loves me anyways. When I first heard the name "General Hospital" I thought she meant Cooter's Garage since that's where the General goes to get doctored up.

Very nice Hoss!!!! And very well deserved!!

Mystery in Hazzard Swamp

*Jesse's jaw drops and Andrew can tell he knows something* Andrew "Now Jesse, ya got that look on yer face..." Jesse "Well, it's strange. On the other end of the swamp, Alice and Molly seem to be having the same problem. I wonder what in the world is going on. Did you get a good look at it?" Andrew "Well Jesse, yes and no. It seems to run off when the coon hounds start barkin' at it but I've seen it about 4 times now. As far as I can tell looking through the thickets, it appears to be about 10 foot tall and walks like a human. It's black but sometimes when the light's bright enough, it almost looks dark green. Since I've been seeing it, I've also been hearing these high pitched screams that'll curl yer hair. It ain't no human screamin' I can tell ya that. I ain't never heard nothin' like it. I tell ya Jesse I don't sleep no more without a loaded 12 gauge double barrel laying beside me. Some nights when it screams, I don't sleep at all. I ain't had this many sleepless nights since WWII." Jesse *looking very concerned* "Ya know yer welcome to stay here if ya want to. Our place is your place." Andrew "Thanks buddy but I have all the critters to take care of. Besides, I didn't run in the war and I ain't runnin' now." Jesse "Is there anything I can do?" Andrew "I reckon just put up a prayer to the Almighty for me and don't tell anyone about this conversation. Also, let me know if ya hear anythin' else." Jesse "Sure thing" *Andrew gets in truck and says one final thing before leaving* "And if anything ever happens to me, make sure my son and his family up in Kentucky know how much I love them." *Those words give Jesse the chills as Andrew drives off* -

This is just a guess. Rodney Moffett on "Boar's Nest Bears". He was also the orphan who spit soda pop on the inside back window of the General Lee on "One Armed Bandits" -
Hey Garrett, Do you think Jimmie Johnson is just taking it easy to make things exciting and after The Chase starts, the real JJ will come out and he'll return to dominating fashion? Also, is Dale Jr officially eliminated yet?

Jesse "Whatcha talkin' about Andrew?" Andrew "Now Jesse, you and me go way back to when we was kids. Have you ever known me to have hallucinations or make up stories or anythin' like that?" Jesse "Well....I reckon not....can't rightly think of anything like that. In fact, you don't even touch alcohol so you usually see things pretty straight....and I bet ya still got 20-20 eyesight don't ya?" Andrew "Sure do" Jesse "Well, then what is it old friend?" Andrew "Well, don't go around repeating this 'er folks is goin' to think I'm going plum loco but....." Jesse "It's okay Andrew, I promise not to say anything. Now spit it out" Andrew "It's just that I've been seeing something odd out there on the north end of the swamp....and I seen it more than once." Jesse "And?" Andrew "And it's some kinda swamp creature or something. I gots to tell ya Jesse, I'm just a little bit scared lately." -
My wife isn't a Dukes fan but as everybody knows, I'm a Dukes addict so this story is funny enough that I thought I'd share it. I bought a metal 1:18 scale General Lee at Ray Kohn's (rained out) stunt show this weekend. I was showing the opening hood, working steering, detailed engine and interior, and other parts to my wife. I showed her that the doors seemed a little loose. They were closed tight but wiggled a little bit like they might open. I explained that I tried to open them but gave up because I was worried that if I forced the issue I might break something and it wasn't really necessary that I open them since I wasn't planning on displaying it with the doors open anyway. She looked at me kinda funny and said, "The doors don't open on the General Lee" ROFL.....Sometimes I just don't think

That was really nice of you bolukeduke. The three of them have put so much time and effort into making this the best website on the internet and they can't be thanked enough. Three cheers for the three founders of the HazzardNet!! Thanks for all you've done and continue to do. This place means so much to so many of us!

Mystery in Hazzard Swamp

*Just as Bo begins his phone conversation Jesse hears a vehicle and gets off his chair and walks outside. Jesse sees his old friend Andrew Harkness pull in the driveway with his beat up brown 1949 Chevy pick-up. Andrew stops the truck and gets out with a worried look on his face. He looks at Jesse then leans against his front fender and removes a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from his forehead* Jesse "How are ya doing Andrew? I ain't seen ya fer a few months now?" Andrew "I ain't doing so good old friend. My body's holdin' out perty well fer a feller my age but I think I'm losing my mind." -

Easy one? LOL Just on the top of my head I'll say... Repo Men The Sound of Music-Hazzard Style (I bet I missed them both) -
All 7 seasons in Georgia would have been so awesome!! I also loved all the emotions that were in "Ghost of the General Lee"...especially Jesse saying "There ya are! There ya are!"

Brian Coltrane is the one that posted that. I'll look for it too.

Wow, you got me on that one Hoss. I hadn't really thought about it. I can't speak for Ray so I'm only guessing here.... I wonder if he just gets what's available. Old Furys would look original but would take a lot more work to find. Plus they're heavy and you have to get them up to speed in a relative short distance so they'd need a big engine and that would make them more expensive. The Charger is heavy too compared to today's cars but he uses a muscular 440 ci engine so that makes up for it. Ray and his crew are pretty smart and I bet they've done a lot of research on how various cars would perform under jump conditions....not to mention what they've experienced themselves. The bottom line is that there's just more junkers laying around from the 1990s than the 60s. I'm sure there are newer heavier cars available that would look more like a Fury because of their size but I'm guessing they just wouldn't jump as well because of their weight and putting an oversized high performance engine in them would be expensive. It would also be impractical if the engine couldn't physically fit in. In the end I don't think it has an effect on the show at all. I talked to a lot of people at last month's show and I never even heard one person mention it. I'm sure people noticed that the cop cars were newer and smaller. They just didn't care because the rest of the show was just so awesome.

Garrett, you've been watching too much NASCAR with all those guys wrecking and blaming someone else. It's starting to rub off on you. Now you're beating up poor innocent defenseless animals and trying to blame a poor sweet innocent Sheriff who was just trying to do his job and protect the good folks of the HazardNet from the criminal element who hangs out here....namely you. (I'm sorry but I never really thought you were that bad of a person until this hen incident)

dukefan, you make a very good point about Ray's jumps ruining Chargers and I could see why you might think that but it's simply not true. Ray is also concerned about that, and he is very selective about picking a car for a jump. He has a General Lee show car that he takes to the events but the cars he jumps are anything but show cars. To be quite honest, they're pieces of junk. They look decent at a distance but they're loaded with bondo and sheet metal that can only be visible upon close inspection. The cars he picks up are ones that are in such bad shape they're not restorable. There's two reasons for that. He's a huge General Lee fan...one of the biggest on the planet. He doesn't want to ruin cars that could be restored. Also, '69 Chargers that are in great shape don't come cheap. Even if there were billions of Chargers left, nobody would wreck an expensive one when a cheap one would work just as well. Believe me, if I thought these cars were restorable I'd be upset too. Today I saw pictures of the jump car in the process of being prepared for the show and I inspected the car close up and it wasn't a car that anybody would fix up. If Ray wouldn't have bought it for the show, it would have just rotted away. Speaking of the show, it was cancelled because of rain. It rained for about 5 hours before the show, making the track unusable and unsafe. We were all pretty upset. On the bright side, I did get to spend several hours with some great people. I'm now a member of the stunt show so I'm thrilled. I spent the day doing a wide variety of odd jobs and loved every second of it until it ended with the cancellation news. I was especially thrilled when Ray asked me to come up with trivia questions for the audience to win prizes. Sadly, it never materialized though. Thanks Ray, for letting me be a small part of your great team! I picked up a 1:18 scale metal General Lee so I have a lasting memorial of my first day on the crew!
