In the battle for fourth, Emma pulls up right beside Jesse on her dirt bike. His drivers side window is open and they look over at each other, dropping their speed just slightly. Forgetting for a moment that she is in a race, she blows him a kiss. He politely smiles but is not too excited. Then Emma rides a wheelie for about 100 feet, hoping to impress him. He smiles again and then points forward to remind her they are in a race. She nods, looks forward and they both speed up and close in on the SS Minnow. It starts to look like the battle for third is going to be fierce. Jesse looks at the leaders. From his view it looks like Hobie is catching up on Garrett.

I remember when I was a kid and once in awhile finding a Canadian 1967 penny in my change. Did their other coins commemorate the 100th anniversary? I can't remember them.

Garrett's car sputters a bit but is back to firing on all 8 cylinders in a jiffy. He's still in first. In fact, nobody has passed anybody these past few seconds but Garrett's lead isn't as big as it once was. And now Emma is fighting Jesse for fourth place. She is right behind him ready to make a pass on his truck. She has plenty of practice since she makes a pass on him every time he comes into the post office.

Sorry to hear about your health Tom. I hope you are better. I think I have a herniated disc in my lower back so I'm in bad shape myself. Belated Happy Canada Day. Did you know there is a Dukes cartoon called The Canadian Caper?

But wait, Roger bumped into Skipper and they both spun out. They recovered quickly though. So now, Garrett has the lead, Hobie is in second, Skipper third, Roger fourth and Emma fifth.

I hope everybody had a good Fourth. Next year it's 250. I was 16 when we hit 200. I'm a little more tired now but a whole lot smarter.

I only had NBC my entire childhood so missed a lot of shows. When I was 19 and Dukes came out I would go to my grandparents to watch it. They could afford a nicer antenna and really tall pole for it.

Things really going downhill from here. Even Skipper has passed Roger. Looking like a fourth place finish. But wait! In the excitement of the competition Roger forgot about the back up nitrous oxide Cooter installed for moments just like this. He hits the toggle switch to turn the primary system off and hits another switch to turn the secondary system on. Once again g-forces push him back. He passes Skipper and is on the move...back into third place. A quick glance in the mirror shows Emma Tisdale closing in on Skipper. The front wheel of her dirt bike has been off the ground the last several miles. But she is starting to run low on nitrous oxide.

And then something went wrong with Roger's truck. The nitrous oxide system failed. Little did Roger know that the tank sprung a leak. That would explain why he had been laughing hysterically the whole race. But the good news is that the front wheels returned to the ground and Roger regained control of the steering. The bad news is that Garrett started pulling ahead. At this point it looked like Roger might finish third. But this is Hazzard. The race ain't over.

Very nice! I'm so Happy Ray Kohn is still at it. He hasn't done too much around here though and I don't really like to travel. I miss going to his shows.

That is a good question. I'd never thought about it. Only a big time Dukes fan would wonder something like that!

The races are so long and there is always so much to do I usually only watch highlights. Depending on what I am doing I usually keep an eye on sporting events on TV and just watch the end of them live. Except for pro dirt bikes. Can't get enough of those. I'd love to see Miz Tisdale race those guys. She'd make them look like snails with racing decals.
