I've seen more fan organizations pull stunts like that than I could shake a stick at. Thanks Brian for the warning, and thanks to all of the admin here at Hazzardnet for keeping things fair. I came into this thread out of slight interest, but now I'm leaving it again, a smarter person and a few dollars richer.

I just posted a new short story at fanfiction.net and thought I'd go ahead and post the url here. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3376256/1/ Enjoy.

I postd a story with Enos and Daisy over at fan fiction net. It's called 'Changes' and once I have the 'url' copied, then I will post it in the announcement section.

Smilies and Avatars Submissions!
Enos Fan replied to HazzardNetAdmin's topic in HazzardNet Announcements
If someone can provide me the pictures, I can do some graphic work. I love making graphics and my avatar and signature banner are samples of my work. Just let me know in a PM if my services are needed. For the record, I do generally keep the banner graphics below 200 pixels high and 400 pixels wide. -
I haven't been back to Houston since 2000, but I figure that everyone pretty much freaked when it snowed. I personally love snow, but it is strange that I can't ski or sled because I never saw it growing up. When I moved to Germany, I tried to sled and ended up crashing into a snowbank. Felt rather like Rosco there after one of his 'horrendous crashes'. I was covered from head to foot with snow and my husband just stood there laughing and saying that he wished he had a camera. I was pretty embarrased, but luckly no one was around. To this day, he won't let me live it down. Photobucket seems to have the hiccups because the file won't open. I'll check the link later, maybe then it will work. BTW, I know the Bryan / College Station area, I used to go to Blinn College in Brenham and we used to drive out there to party on weekends.

I voted. Neat picture. Reminds me of when I lived in Houston. Good luck with the contest. Incidentally, I really liked your picture best, it made me smile.

This is very true. I administrate a different (non DoH) forum with close to 2,000 people on it, and without V-Bullitin format, I found it to be very hard to weed out the junk and get rid of troublemakers who come in trying to sell all kinds of non-family-friendly junk to the forum. V-Bullitin has a great means in which new members can be checked automatically to keep the spammers and computer bots out of the system. I can't say much for the old system here, because I wasn't around here long enough to get used to it. But, I can say that I am really overjoyed with this upgrade. At the very least, it is a format that I can easily navigate. I don't really want to pick nits with anyone about this, we all have our preferences, but we regular forum members don't always see the nonsense that administrators go through in working a forum. Based entirely on my experiences, sometimes it can be downright unsettling. The issue of huge sigs are not as easy to moderate as one may think. This involves a massive amount of PMs and haggling with members to keep their graphics at a reasonable size. I have seen countless forums go over the top with graphic issues, and the ones with obnoxious signature sizes I left because I got tired of scrolling screen after screen trying to see what these people were posting. I know this from experience, and a lot of people have gotten downright angry with me when I've said their sig is too large on the forum where I work, some people have gone as far as to ignore my messages. The problem is there are a lot of people who use dialup connections who have a really hard time trying to read a forum because of the obscene amount of graphics on some people's signature files. Not everyone uses high speed internet connections, so forums have to take these folks into consideration. A lot of forums out there simply won't do it, and they miss out on a lot of members as a result.

The foods I don't like? ~liver, and pretty much any organ on pultry...get away from me with that giblet gravy. ~mushrooms, not only am I highly allergic to them, the sheer sight, smell of them makes me feel immediately nauseous. And over here, it seems like they put them in everything, except maybe cakes or ice cream. ~that sweeter than sweet cake icing. That stuff makes my hair curl. I know as a kid, I used to love it, could eat it straight out of the container. I was also about as tall as Boss Hogg and close to the same weight. Today, I can't stomach most cake icings from the States because they are too bloody sweet. The same holds true for the colas and soft drinks from the US, they are much sweeter than their European counterparts. ~Peas! I never liked them, never will. I only ate Black-eyed peas on New Years, because it was tradition, but after I moved here, never again. ~cornbread! I'm sorry, but there are some people who were born and bred in the south who hate it, and I'm one of those people. I could never stand the stuff. ~fruitcake, yuck, yuck and double yuck. After having the German Stollen here at Christmastime, then forget it...I'm spoiled. ~squid and most Japanese food. Two words: Cook it! I love seafood, but the thought of eating it raw makes me ill. I do remember spam, yuck again!

Kudoes to everyone working behind the scenes, the new forum looks wonderful and I really like the v-bullitin format probably more than any other forum format out there. Great job, y'all.

I did a check on this guy, and he was not a kid, he was a midget who did acting in a number of shows and things. I was blown away because he was on an episode of the Monkees during the 60's and that's one of the shows I love. Oh well, I digress. I think that the characters that annoyed me were probably all the replacements for Rosco and Cooter. Although I liked Dick Sargeant in 'Bewitched', his character seemed a bit too much a 'yes man' for my tastes. (I could not find a good Rosco/Enos shot for my banner so I have to deal with him). No one can hold a candle to Rosco as Sheriff of Hazzard County. I didn't really like then replacing Cooter with all of his cousins either. It wasn't that these guys were bad, it's just that Cooter is such a classic character that bringing those other guys in, seemed to make the stories drag. I guess it was hard for me to grasp the idea of someone else besides Cooter running the garage. I thought Coy Duke was alright, but Vance seemed a bit on the dry side to me, so although season five was OK, I discovered that I didn't like Vance all that much. What was that bit with them always taking off their shirts? Bo and Luke never had to do that and they had tons of female admirers. I also have to agree with who said that they didn't like all those fellows that Daisy was getting attached to, they annoyed me, because I love Daisy and Enos together. And for the record, I am a Jonathan Frakes fan.

Who's y'all's favorite DOH character?
Enos Fan replied to Kristy_DUke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
For me: 1. Enos 2. Daisy 3. Jesse 4. Rosco 5. Cooter 6. Luke 7. Cletus 8. Bo 9. Boss Hogg (and just to be more specific) 10. Coy 11. Vance I only like season 5 because Enos came back! -
Thanks to whoever it was for posting the addresses. Although the charging for pictures is normal these days, I have no way of getting anything because of where I now live. Of course, I'm still hoping to one day get that autograph from Sonny since Enos was always my favorite. I'll have to see how I can one day manage it. Does anyone know if those addresses are good for just sending a letter? I would like to just write to some of them and thank them for the show because it was a very positive part of my childhood.

Well, obvious here as to who I'm most fond of. The reason I am so fond of Enos is that he's such a nice guy! I tend to like these characters who have this whole deal with their conscience to deal with. Enos is one of these characters that I just cannot get enough of. He cares for others, and that caring sometimes has a tendency to get him into trouble. One of my favorite Enos moments was when he was talking to the Russian gymnist in 'Comrade Duke' episode, and he was trying to get her to stop crying. It just showed how kind and sensitive he really is. It also enabled him to give the Duke family and Cooter the information they needed to her get away. Without his information, they would have been driving around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out where Natasha was. I just love how he put so much on the line for a woman he barely knew just because she was crying and afraid. That scene won me over, hands down.

I got Luke, but I never really thought I was like him...of course, my husband says I am someone who can think my way out of a tight situation, so maybe there's something there since Luke always seemd to come up with these strange plans. Of course, I don't think that Enos or Jesse are even listed.

I have to agree with Jamanda for the great summation of the two characters, specifically about the 'unfairness of the competition'. I have always been an Enos gal, so to me Enos is at the top of my list for a lot of reasons. ~I loved his laugh, that nervous sounding laugh just always made my day. ~'Possum on a Gumbush' is one of my favorite statements from the show by anyone. ~I liked how he stuck out as the honest one. He wouldn't lie to anyone, but seemed always to be stuck with that moral dilemma. Something that a lot of people can relate to in one way or another. ~He seemed to be more caring and likable to me than other characters, which made him a sort of underdog (and we underdogs gotta stick together. ). ~While he was somewhat innocent, I don't think he was necessarily stupid or a 'dipstick'. Of course, Rosco was funnier than Enos, and I loved Rosco's manner, it was just downright funny at times. The other thing I could appreciate about Rosco was when he was getting emotionally involved in something. He lost some of his silly demenour and could literally hit my emotional side. I really do love both characters, but although I really am fond of Rosco's ability to make me laugh, that little girl in me says 'Enos is the greatest!!' So, I'm gonna be the one going out on a limb and cast my vote for Enos!

I kid you not, I saw an episode where Luke actually climbed into the General in the conventional way (ie. opening the doors), and I was wondering if anyone could remember the episode name where that happened. I think it was in season 2 and they were using the bows and arrows or dynamite and he was running back to the car and they were about to take off before something blew up. I can't for the life of me remember the episode, though. Anyone know which one I'm talking about and is there more than one episode where bloopers like that happened?

As I was reading this, I got to thinking about that show 'Alien Nation' where the aliens would get drunk by drinking sour milk. What if our Enos got switched by an alien and then drank some of that sour milk? I'm weird, but I can't imagine our Enos getting toasted, that just seems so out of character for him. I just loved his milk mustache... But, yeah, that does seem rather funny.

I like the new format, I always thought that the avatar sizes in the old forum were too large, so it's nice that you are doing something about that. The avatar settings still don't work, but I'm guessing you're still working the bugs out of the system. Good luck with that.

When I saw Enos come out of the lake with Bo and Luke's clothing, I lost it. I looked at my husband and said 'I've never cried while watching the Dukes of Hazzard' but that did it. Between Enos and Rosco, I was pretty much a a mess. I often wondered if Bo and Luke ever found out what Enos tried to do, combing the lake looking for them or that Rosco was really broken up about what had happened. I am not so sure it was completely right for Bo and Luke to scare Rosco, though. I think although it was funny, I thought it was kind of sad how they never really saw Rosco show that he had a heart in that episode. At the same time, I can see how it might be a logical means in which to get out of some silly frame-up.

I noticed that in season 2, and I actually decided to go another route in the story. I did notice, that Cooter was sometimes told 'I ain't your Uncle Jesse' too, and he would mumble about saying 'OK, Jesse.' I don't think Cooter ever called Jesse 'Mr. Duke', it either wasn't his style or it was mumbled to some extent. Of course, Cletus never got away with it, and Jesse would get really upset with him when he would call him that. Maybe it was because Cletus was a Hogg, although he really didn't carry himself like one. I almost felt sorry for the guy.

I just collect teddy bears. My husband collects electrical kits and chemistry sets, that's about it here, unless you count DVDs and CDs. I am also a hobby teddy bear maker. How could I go and forget to mention that? Especially since I've made well over 100 different teddy bears. I even sent one to one of my favorite writers and he told me the teddy bear sits on his desk when he writes. It made me very proud!

Much obliged. I think I'll have him call Jesse 'Mr. Duke'. Of course, I do like the 'Mr. Jesse', idea too. Maybe if I don't use it for this story, I'll use it for the next. I have a new idea swimming around in my head, and it's not Enos going swimming. The really fun bit with writing fan fiction and writing the name Jesse is that my last name is Jesse with an 'n' at the end. Sometimes when writing, I have to check the work and make sure there are no 'Uncle Jessen's' in there. <g>

I just ordered season 5 just so I can watch more Enos episodes. I'm really looking forward to seeing 'Enos in Trouble', but will have to wait on Seasons six and seven until the prices go down a bit. They are really expensive here, but I'm really excited about seeing more Enos.

Hi everyone, I have been working on touching up the ending of my DoH story, and I am now stumped. Can someone tell me please how Enos addresses Jesse? I know that Cletus has called him 'Uncle Jesse' and Jesse's reaction is 'I ain't your uncle Jesse'. I have heard Enos say 'Uncle Jesse', but not directly when the two characters are speaking to one another. Since I have always thought that Enos would be polite, I wrote that he called Jesse, 'Mr. Duke'. Does that sound about right? Thanks for any assistance.

I've never heard of that at all. I'll have to try it sometime.
