Because I'm still close to the UK, I'm usually identified as English, and that's fine with me (although I didn't celebrate St George's Day on Thursday!). My nationality is British, and that's probably how I'd be known further from home where people aren't so familiar with the differences between the Home Nations.3 points

I'm a night owl, so that won't be a problem. Mid-week it is. How about a Wednesday or Thursday around 2am my time? It'll probably be sometime this summer. I have a lot going on right now. Lots of doctor's appointments. If all goes well, the summer should be pretty quiet. Good time to do the update.2 points -
They're virtually unknown over here, and so far I've only seen them at this show. The guy goes by the name 'Cranky Yankee'. I've just checked his Facebook page, and apparently he'll be closer to where I live a couple of times over the summer.2 points

Why Are The British So Eccentric In War? That's the question posed in this video. It tells the story of why you can always make tea in a British tank, and of the soldier who went into battle in Operation Market Garden (the failed attempt to take the bridge in Arnhem as dramatized in the movie 'A Bridge Too Far') with an umbrella.2 points

Always great to make memories ain’t it? You and your brother will cherish that time forever. My dad and I went to a few local car shows in our time too, he liked his cars but he really loved art. He was a painter, he did those paint by numbers kits, and managed to do 50 of em. He gave a lot of em away a few years ago, but the handful he kept are now proudly hanging on my walls.2 points -

Hi Roger, I was very blessed to have him, and I hope I do him proud. He definitely passed the tradition on to me, and I hope someday I’m blessed enough to do the same, should I be blessed with fatherhood. You’re not too personal, don’t worry. Actually my name is Thomas, but I shorten it to Tom these days. When I signed up here and thought of a username, I figure Tom Duke has a nice ring to it. Never realized about the parallel with Tom Wopat, kinda cool as he’s my favourite of the Duke Boys.2 points -

Dad instilled a love of cars in me. He used to take me to cruisin' 50's night in high school and when I was little we went to the Harrah's Auto Museum in Sparks, NV on vacation. That was a treat. Dad had dementia for his last years, but my brother and I managed to get him to the Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance and the Petersen Automotive Museum a few years ago. We had a blast, made some great memories, and took lots of photos.2 points -

Although I use my phone to check HNet when I'm out of the house, I make well over 90% of my contributions from a laptop. The ability to easily switch between multiple tabs and multiple sources, and having an actual keyboard to type on means that I can't imagine getting nearly as involved with smaller devices. Roger, I don't know how big your tablet is, but I'm sure the larger screen benefits your viewing of photos and videos.1 point -

F1 is finally back this weekend with the Miami Grand Prix, but I'll post about that later. First, I read the sad news earlier that Alex Zanardi died yesterday at 59 years old. The Italian driver spent a few years in F1 before moving to the US where he won the CART World Series in 1997 and 1998 with Chip Ganassi Racing. After that, he had another brief stint in F1 before returning CART. In 2001, he lost both legs in a terrible crash in Germany, and survived for nearly an hour with less than a litre (under two pints) of blood left in his body. Undaunted by the injury, he returned to various forms of motor racing., but it was racing handbikes where he really succeeded once more becoming a four-time Paralympic gold medallist and 12-time world champion. There was a minute's silence for Alex Zanardi before today's Miami F1 sprint race. There's a full article at bbc.com.1 point -

I can do it. I've gotten pretty good with tech lately. My wife just showed me how to open links. It's not really that hard. You just click on it and all the information pops up. I asked her to show me how to do a screen shot so hopefully in a few weeks I'll get good at doing those too. Is there anything else I need to know?1 point -

I was back a the American car show today. I don't go every year as it can get repetitive, but there were a good number of cars this year that I hadn't seen before including a recent Challenger Hellcat and Charger Scatpack that had travelled all the way from Poland. From TV, there were two or three KITTs, one with the full dashboard makeover and a couple of Starsky and Hutch Torinos. Not American, but designed for the American market, there was a row of five Deloreans, some with flux capacitors. I avoided the usual food offerings of burger and chips and took the opportunity to have another corn dog! With good weather, it was very busy this year, so the food queues were ridiculous. I thought I was going to be out of luck Dukes-wise until I made my second tour and spotted a General Lee. It's not the same as the one above. The owner has had it for 19 years, has been to Dukesfest and visited the filming sites. He let me sit in for a photo and showed me the signed knee pad under the steering wheel which came from a screen-used car. He also had both sun visors signed by cast and crew.1 point -

Nice photos, Hoss! Magnum, PI was one of my favorite shows so I was excited to see the Ferrari. A lawyer in my hometown had a 308 in the late 80's. I got to see it often on my drive to school since his practice was right near the high school.1 point -

Yes, it does. I nearly pointed it out in my original post. Here's how the car looked in the movie. Although I didn't get to see a Hazzard patrol car, there were a couple of police cars this year. This one had a sign on the rear fender saying "To Protect and Cruise" ... ... while this one said "To Punish and Enslave" .1 point -

About three years ago, the All American Car, Truck & Bike Show moved from September to April, and I missed it! Then it seemed to clash with other events, so this is the first time I've been back since 2010. I saw pictures of one of the shows I missed in a magazine, and there was a Hazzard patrol car there. Sadly, it wasn't there this year. The General Lee was also absent, but one of the late arrivals was this yellow Road Runner just like Daisy drove in the early episodes. NB. I don't know any of the people in the pictures - it was virtually impossible getting shots without someone in the way! There was also a very clean 1973 Ford F-100 that would have suited Uncle Jesse if it had been white instead of blue, and a white Cadillac convertible that turned out to be a 1965 model (the interior was similar to Boss' even though it was red). Luckily, there were plenty of other cars I hadn't seen before, including this pair of Starsky and Hutch Gran Torinos complete with lights and sirens. One of my other favorites was this Vanishing Point Challenger. As well as the burnouts, they also used a pair of big rigs (it was a Mack and Ford for anyone who's interested) to rip a couple of compact cars apart. I nearly forgot - after seeing people eat them in movies and TV shows for years, I had my first corn dog today. We might have imported McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks etc., but it's the first time I've seen corn dogs for sale over here (the guy selling them was from Minnesota, and he wasn't aware of any other sellers). Now I've got to get me a chili dog and some grits .1 point -
