Today I got to go on a river cruise with a group that I'm part of. It was nearly two hours each way with a stop-over for a hotel meal in the middle. We were hoping for a brighter day, but a bit of mist and rain on the outward journey didn't dampen our spirits, and the return trip was dry with much better visibility.

Hello from the south, been a long time dukes fan for over 40 years now and still love the show. Been to most all the Georgia filming sites with other dukes fans and have owned my old charger since 1999. Had the uniform on it for over 10 years and had to do a re paint in 2012. It is still hemi orange but with a black R/T stripe and magnum 500 wheels. 493 ci with a 4 speed, has plenty of attitude for a resto looking charger.

When I first met Rick, it was in the 90's, so the WWW was in its infancy. When I told him about HazzardNet's predecessor (the Hazzard County Sheriff's Department on Prodigy), he was excited there was a community of fans online still discussing and enjoying the show. He told me he'd be right back and when he returned, he handed me an enormous folder of 8x10s, several of them signed. That was very generous of him. I still have them packed away from the move, but when I find them (someday), I will scan them in and put them on the site. When I mentioned where I worked at the time, we had a connection there and he told me some amazing stories. We just had an awesome conversation. He was very personable and gracious. At the Dukesfest in '01, I got to do an impromptu square dance with him and Jimmie. Good times. I would've liked to have gotten to know him better, but my health and work situations over the years didn't permit me to get to events as much as I'd have liked.

I couldn't use Spike's image because it's hard to recolor black panels, so here's a quick effort based on another image I found. There aren't many places for the graphics. You'll have to imagine the flag on the gas tank, because you can't see it from this angle.

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're expecting snow this weekend. Might not arrive in time for a white Christmas, but it might get here Christmas night/Sunday morning! We have a new pup this year (Troy passed last November). We got her from a rescue in Texas last June and she just turned about 1 year old last month. We're really looking forward to her first Christmas and to see how she reacts to the snow. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a prosperous and happy new year.

We've mentioned a couple of historically famous non-NASCAR drivers recently, so I thought I'd share a quote from another that I heard last night. Juan Manuel Fangio dominated the early years of F1, winning the World Drivers' Championship five times in the first decade. Here's his quote: "Driving fast on the track does not scare me. What scares me is when I drive on the highway I get passed by some idiot who thinks he is Fangio."

Happy Halloween guys!! unfortunately, I come from a family who don't celebrate things much outside Christmas so I'm not doing anything, but my mom bought me some candy last week (which is already almost gone) and I have a cool halloween outfit on Red Dead Redemption Online! Might brave up and watch some horror movies tonight...not sure

Hello! I figured since I might be drawing fanart more often that it would be a better idea to have one thread/topic than to post it all on it's own every time, and I have a really good piece to start it with. It's a drawing I did of Bo with a horse. The song "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" kept coming up on Spotify and I got really inspired for some reason, so I drew the song. (except the rifle, I didn't want to render that much metal AND wood) My friend is a horse girl and she said that Bo would have a Chestnut Quarter Horse Mare named Miss Joanne. It's my biggest project ever, with the multiple subjects and more body than just the head. I had a lot of fun with it, adding a bunch of little details that I'm sure most of them won't be found partially due to the bad quality I had to upload it in so it could fit, but I also think the bigger ones won't be understood. I'm not saying you guys are dumb, I'm saying that I probably didn't make it understandable as a reference and made it look more like just a design choice or a coincidence. Also, apologies for not posting/commenting anything, I haven't known what to say. The only dukes thing I've done/seen/thought of besides this drawing, is I made a wallpaper and lockscreen for a friend. I swear I haven't forgotten about this forum, and I'm still a fan!

I've been here 18 years and have 15,500 posts and I still have no clue what I'm doing. The HazzardNet is a lot like Hazzard....total chaos. If it wasn't it would be boring. We are happy to have you Davy and hope you stay a long time. Do you have a favorite character?

I'll be driving my Gray Ghost Jr. '68 Camaro! It has a new coat or primer and a big engine under the hood. I promise no one will catch me playing dirty... or catch me.

My parents were married 67 years, just a few months shy of 68 years when dad passed. They got married at 19 (mom) and 21 (dad). I've been married almost 23 years. My oldest sister celebrates anniversary #32 this year and my other sister will celebrate #26 later this year. So, my advice would be to find someone who's been married a long time and get advice from them! Because whatever my mom and dad were doing right, it seemed to rub off on us kids. My mom always told me that the key to a long marriage was.... 2 tv sets. And for the record, all of us kids have more than 1 tv set.

Formula 1 was back this weekend after its summer break with the Dutch Grand Prix. Since it returned to the calendar in 2021, Red Bull's Max Verstappen has dominated his home race with pole and the win each year, but McLaren's upgrades seem to be working better than Red Bull's at the moment, and Max had to line up behind Lando Norris on the grid. Lando's team mate, Oscar Piastri started in third with George Russell the first of the Mercedes cars in fourth. Ferrari were sixth and tenth, but Lewis Hamilton failed to make the final qualifying session and also got a grid penalty for impeding another driver, so started 13th. Alex Albon had a great qualifying for Williams to initially put his car in eighth, but had to start from the back after the floor of his car was found to be illegal. Lando continued his unfortunate record of poor starts from pole and was overtaken by Max into turn 1. Max stayed ahead until Lando retook the lead on lap 18. Lando then held the lead over Max until the checkered flag to take his second win and the point for fastest lap. He ended up with a winning margin of 23 seconds - the sort of lead that Max used to get. The Ferraris seemed to have had better race pace than they showed in qualifying, finishing in third and fifth and separated by McLaren's Oscar Piastri. George Russell slipped back to finish in seventh with Lewis Hamilton catching up to eighth. McLaren are now catching Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship, but they may be regretting swapping their drivers in the last race as Lando could've been closer to Max in the Drivers' Championship. Thank you. You all are the best. My scholarship person responded to an email yesterday saying that I won't have to pay anything back as long as I stay at the day care for a year. Which makes things even worse. I'd understand if it was I that was quitting the program, but it's the day care that's quitting it. In my mind, I shouldn't be the one forced to stay due to what they are doing. Maybe I am wrong and irrational. I really wish I never signed up for these classes now. I don't know. I emailed the person back with a couple other questions and she has yet to respond. So I guess we will see. On top of it all, I now got a bad cold. I was supposed to enjoy this week as I only work Monday and Friday. Now I have this to deal with. Kenny Chesney has a song on his new album that is "This too Shall Pass". I am sure this will pass and maybe it's not as bad as I am making it out to be. I just hate the thought of being stuck at a place that I no longer feel appreciated at and no longer happy at. Though financially, I don't know where else to go or so forth. Thank you for listening.

Finally started to feel good physically but had a hard emotional hit today. I turned 64 (7 days after Bo turned 64) and it hit me that I will never again get a birthday call from my daughter. I'm sure when Father's Day comes around I'll get knocked down again since she was my only child.

I do. I love cats. I have a cat that lives at my parents house named Waylon and I have a cat that lives with me and my dog at my apartment named Wrigley. Pets are the bessssttttt!

I'd never even heard that anyone thought picnic was a racist word. It appears that Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Robert McKinzie made the claim in 2019 before it was subsequently debunked by professors of language and African-American history. Yet another case of someone jumping to conclusions without all the facts. At least Cadbury's won't have have to change the name of their chocolate bar on the this side of the Atlantic!

Hi folks, My first time on the forum in a LONG time (in fact, I've just spent two hours trying to remember which email I used so I could access my old account). One of my goals is to post MUCH more regularly this year, but for now... It's a key date for U.K. fans such as myself... as Sat 3rd March 1979 marked the first time 'The Dukes of Hazzard' was ever broadcast in the United Kingdom! My all-time favourite TV series, that shaped myself, my interests and my character in so many ways. Literally my first memories in life are sitting on my father's knee watching the series (he watched it religiously every week, on the excuse that "he (meaning me) likes it")! BBC1 showed the first four episodes in a Saturday 9 p.m. slot, before a brief break and resuming a month or so later with episode 5, "High Octane" on Mondays at 7:20 p.m. (a year or two later it would move again to it's early Saturday evening slot where the series would enjoy it's highest U.K. viewing figures). Although I'm pretty certain I would have been tucked up in bed for those first four episode (I would have been 1 year old at the time), I'm pretty certain that by some of those earliest Monday broadcasts I would have been sat on my Dad's knee watching it all. Last year I pieced together the original U.K. broadcast history and order for the series (I might share it on the forum at some point actually), just to see what was shown in what order... and to try and piece together my very earliest memories; it was actually quite therapeutic. For those of us that were there originally (even us who can barely remember it), we were very lucky. Will never see the likes of such a TV series again.

45 years of greatness.

It wasn't Doc Petticord, but it looked a bit like him. Pat (Patrick) Crenshaw played Doc Petticord in 'Double Sting' (season 1), but his character was only named "Doctor" in 'And in This Corner, Luke Duke' (season 3) . Parley Baer started playing Doc Appleby in 'Coltrane vs. Duke' near the start of season 4, but then didn't appear again until 'Too Many Roscos' near the start of season 6. In 'Dear Diary' (near the end of season 4), Doc Appleby was played by a different actor, Elmore Vincent. This was his only appearance in Dukes and one of only 29 acting credits between 1956 and 1983.

It was still sane when Denver’s/Uncle Jesse’s generation was still alive...but, sadly we are losing most of them, as time moves on. He was the same age as one of my grandmas...she passed away just two years after him, in ‘99. I can’t wrap my head around the idea they’d ‘be’...103 (little rhyme there)! RIP, God bless, and miss you both!

True, I know when they moved production from Georgia to the Warner Bros lot in California, they decided to “soften” the show even more, as they had discovered it was so popular with kids. Originally I think they were trying to aim towards an audience of perhaps late teens to 30s. But, they ultimately gained an audience & fans of all ages!

Lesson learned: Don't ever EVER buy a vehicle from family!!! Because they will never let you forget the deal they gave you. If it was my decision I would put a for sale sign in it tomorrow but it's the wife's car so it's up to her.

I'm still lurking around here, Hobie. We had an ice storm yesterday and managed to get through it without losing power. Last time we had an ice storm, we lost power for 3 days. Stay safe and warm, everybody. Wishing you peace and joy this Christmas, my cousins. And a Happy New Year!

The Dukes (and Dukes fans) are sometimes down, but never out!!

I just heard this sad news on the radio before I left work. They have a spot each week where they talk to a pair of American correspondents with differing political views, but both were united in their tributes to Loretta Lynn. RIP to the Coal Miner's Daughter.

The square in Covington also appeared in 'The Cannonball Run' - Burt Reynolds and Dom DeLuise land their plane there to buy more beer near the start of the movie.

I'm tired of Covid. This might sound crazy but back in November my wife and I took one of our cats to the Vet. We talked about Covid and the Vet said virus' usually last about 3 winters and as they mutate into various variants they do get weaker. He's a great Vet and has always been right when diagnosing the cats. He does a lot of research. I'm hoping he's right about Covid. You need a pickup truck to be a true redneck. lol

Here's a look at the PS2 version. I know that Edward Mulhare (Devon Miles) died in 1997 (five years before this games was released), but they don't seem to have licensed any of the original actors to provide voices (unlike the Dukes games).

Hey everyone. I'm Dani and I'm new here and am a huge fan of the Dukes Of Hazzard. I'm a country gal and proud of it. I own every single season of the Dukes Of Hazzard and recently began rewatching it from the beginning of the series. My favorite Duke is Bo Duke and I love John Schneider. I'm currently working on saving money to buy myself a horse. Some of the things I like doing are working with my grandpa out on the farm, horseback riding, reading, writing fan fiction, roleplaying, watching tv and much more. I love making new friends so if you'd like to get to know me better and want to know more don't be afraid to ask.

I don't think I've visited either of those sites. www.hazzardonline.com still appears to be available, but there's no trace of www.dukefarm.com. I know of a few other Dukes sites that are still running, but I can also name some that have disappeared over the past decade. HazzardNet may well be the only remaining Dukes forum after cglfc.com shut down about five years ago. I never joined cglfc.com, but I did read posts there from time to time. At the end of the day, it costs money to keep places like HazzardNet alive. We should be thankful that our Supreme Superior Commander is such a dedicated Dukes fan!

Okay, finally time for the COMPLETED item, my Ultimate Cooter's GMC Tow Truck! Only complaint is the decals on the door are 'way too oversized, but they were the only ones I've been able to find in years of looking.

In Hazzard, the more things change, the more they stay the same. This is also true at Cooter's Place in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. About a year ago, Cooter's in Gatlinburg relocated to nearby Pigeon Forge due to unforseen circumstances. The new location does not have the 'familily fun center' gocarts and indoor mini golf. However, the new store brings opportunities to build new fun experiences for Dukes fans to enjoy. In addition to easier access and expanded room for events and more cool Hazzard merchandise and collectibles, we are now buiding in the famiilar setting of the Hazzard Garage. The General Lee needs a cozy home after all! This will be just the first of more things to come over the coming months, so stay tuned!

There seems to be a trend here to post stuff that is a little bit edgy. That's no surprise since the world seems to have gone crazy. Since I have been part of the problem I really am not worthy of acting like Uncle Jesse and getting everybody back it line with a gruff authoritarian voice so I won't...... but I will say this: While I may be tempted in the future to post stuff that displays my anger about insane current events I will not anymore. This website is one of my favorite things in the world and I don't want to ruin it by being part of the problem. From this point forward I pledge to return to the fun that the HazzardNet is intended to be. After all, HazzardNet might be the only sane place left in cyberspace. Where would the internet be if it gets tainted and turns crazy too? I hope others join me in my pledge.

Hazzard County is perfect. It's the rest of the world that is messed up.
