Today I got to go on a river cruise with a group that I'm part of. It was nearly two hours each way with a stop-over for a hotel meal in the middle. We were hoping for a brighter day, but a bit of mist and rain on the outward journey didn't dampen our spirits, and the return trip was dry with much better visibility.

Hello from the south, been a long time dukes fan for over 40 years now and still love the show. Been to most all the Georgia filming sites with other dukes fans and have owned my old charger since 1999. Had the uniform on it for over 10 years and had to do a re paint in 2012. It is still hemi orange but with a black R/T stripe and magnum 500 wheels. 493 ci with a 4 speed, has plenty of attitude for a resto looking charger.

When I first met Rick, it was in the 90's, so the WWW was in its infancy. When I told him about HazzardNet's predecessor (the Hazzard County Sheriff's Department on Prodigy), he was excited there was a community of fans online still discussing and enjoying the show. He told me he'd be right back and when he returned, he handed me an enormous folder of 8x10s, several of them signed. That was very generous of him. I still have them packed away from the move, but when I find them (someday), I will scan them in and put them on the site. When I mentioned where I worked at the time, we had a connection there and he told me some amazing stories. We just had an awesome conversation. He was very personable and gracious. At the Dukesfest in '01, I got to do an impromptu square dance with him and Jimmie. Good times. I would've liked to have gotten to know him better, but my health and work situations over the years didn't permit me to get to events as much as I'd have liked.

I couldn't use Spike's image because it's hard to recolor black panels, so here's a quick effort based on another image I found. There aren't many places for the graphics. You'll have to imagine the flag on the gas tank, because you can't see it from this angle.

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're expecting snow this weekend. Might not arrive in time for a white Christmas, but it might get here Christmas night/Sunday morning! We have a new pup this year (Troy passed last November). We got her from a rescue in Texas last June and she just turned about 1 year old last month. We're really looking forward to her first Christmas and to see how she reacts to the snow. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a prosperous and happy new year.

We've mentioned a couple of historically famous non-NASCAR drivers recently, so I thought I'd share a quote from another that I heard last night. Juan Manuel Fangio dominated the early years of F1, winning the World Drivers' Championship five times in the first decade. Here's his quote: "Driving fast on the track does not scare me. What scares me is when I drive on the highway I get passed by some idiot who thinks he is Fangio."

These photos were taken as we were pulling into the event on Saturday around 11 am local time. It had been raining for much of the previous afternoon, night, and earlier that morning. It was a muddy first day.

I did, however, create a new badge that I will give out to everyone who contributes. As I mentioned on the previous page, it would also have been my mother's birthday today, so I've been remembering her.

Formula 1 was back this weekend after its summer break with the Dutch Grand Prix. Since it returned to the calendar in 2021, Red Bull's Max Verstappen has dominated his home race with pole and the win each year, but McLaren's upgrades seem to be working better than Red Bull's at the moment, and Max had to line up behind Lando Norris on the grid. Lando's team mate, Oscar Piastri started in third with George Russell the first of the Mercedes cars in fourth. Ferrari were sixth and tenth, but Lewis Hamilton failed to make the final qualifying session and also got a grid penalty for impeding another driver, so started 13th. Alex Albon had a great qualifying for Williams to initially put his car in eighth, but had to start from the back after the floor of his car was found to be illegal. Lando continued his unfortunate record of poor starts from pole and was overtaken by Max into turn 1. Max stayed ahead until Lando retook the lead on lap 18. Lando then held the lead over Max until the checkered flag to take his second win and the point for fastest lap. He ended up with a winning margin of 23 seconds - the sort of lead that Max used to get. The Ferraris seemed to have had better race pace than they showed in qualifying, finishing in third and fifth and separated by McLaren's Oscar Piastri. George Russell slipped back to finish in seventh with Lewis Hamilton catching up to eighth. McLaren are now catching Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship, but they may be regretting swapping their drivers in the last race as Lando could've been closer to Max in the Drivers' Championship. Thank you. You all are the best. My scholarship person responded to an email yesterday saying that I won't have to pay anything back as long as I stay at the day care for a year. Which makes things even worse. I'd understand if it was I that was quitting the program, but it's the day care that's quitting it. In my mind, I shouldn't be the one forced to stay due to what they are doing. Maybe I am wrong and irrational. I really wish I never signed up for these classes now. I don't know. I emailed the person back with a couple other questions and she has yet to respond. So I guess we will see. On top of it all, I now got a bad cold. I was supposed to enjoy this week as I only work Monday and Friday. Now I have this to deal with. Kenny Chesney has a song on his new album that is "This too Shall Pass". I am sure this will pass and maybe it's not as bad as I am making it out to be. I just hate the thought of being stuck at a place that I no longer feel appreciated at and no longer happy at. Though financially, I don't know where else to go or so forth. Thank you for listening.

Still raining hard but the worst of it is over. Let us know how it went as soon as you can Hobie. When they ask you how you got your hernia are you going to be honest and tell them it was from lifting and moving your still because you knew the revenuers were on the way?

Finally started to feel good physically but had a hard emotional hit today. I turned 64 (7 days after Bo turned 64) and it hit me that I will never again get a birthday call from my daughter. I'm sure when Father's Day comes around I'll get knocked down again since she was my only child.

Congratulations to Meadowmufn on this fantastic accomplishment! What a labor of love it has been. So many ups and downs. Since MM is such a big Rosco fan I'm sure having James Best in the chat room was a huge up....and talking about his death was just the opposite. Friday will mark my 17th year here. I hadn't used a computer in my life and when my daughter said you can find anything on the internet, the first thing I asked was "Even Dukes of Hazzard stuff?" She showed me right away and when HazzardNet came up I was hooked.....still am. Best website on the internet! And of course the greatest part of it is all the friends I made. Long live Hazzard County!

I wonder what they would do if you parked a General Lee in the driveway. They couldn't say it represented racism. The car represents The Dukes of Hazzard and there wasn't a single racist scene in 7 seasons.

The first race of the F1 season took place yesterday in Bahrain, and it was pretty much a continuation of last year. Max Verstappen took pole and went on to win the race with his Red Bull team mate in second (albeit 22 seconds back). Behind them, the Ferraris, McLarens and Mercedes were all pretty close, although Mercedes had a battery issue which meant they couldn't show their full potential. Only a week to go until the next race in Saudi Arabia.

Forgot to mention the wife's surgery Monday went well. Hopefully she heals up great and we can get back to living a full adventurous life again.

45 years ago today The Dukes Of Hazzard premiered on CBS. Happy anniversary to the best show!

James Cameron's company does have submarines and submersibles (there's a difference) that can safely take the pressure and even go the bottom of the Mariana Trench which is nearly three times deeper than the Titanic. According to this article, he's visited the wreck 33 times. The problem with OceanGate is that their vessel was insufficiently tested and uncertified, and many experts had expressed doubts about its construction. You can already take a virtual tour of the Titanic without leaving your front room (see video below), but now that it's possible to visit in person, some rich people are always going to want to say they've actually been there. The second video shows a very detailed 1:350 model of the wreckage with an explanation of which parts survive and which bits don't.

It was still sane when Denver’s/Uncle Jesse’s generation was still alive...but, sadly we are losing most of them, as time moves on. He was the same age as one of my grandmas...she passed away just two years after him, in ‘99. I can’t wrap my head around the idea they’d ‘be’...103 (little rhyme there)! RIP, God bless, and miss you both!

Hey guys! I haven't been here in forever. I missed you all. What am I doing now? Enjoying the last day of my four day weekend while my towels are in the dryer I hope all is well with everyone.

I was able to get into the junkyard way back in the early 2000's and got some pics of the place. The old bus was there then and maybe a few cars were there. Later the no trespassing signs and crap went up so that was that. I got a few pics of the old farm house too when it was still standing. Lots has changed there since the early 2000's

Cousin.... ( specifically MY cousin) He was born blind and retarded because the doctor used forceps on his head. He is a savant however. He is 56 and believes in Santa Claus but he can tell you what day any date is on! This year, last year or next year! He can also tell you how many Friday 13ths we will have. He told me this year we will have only one more! It will be in October! I haven't looked it up but he's always right!

I'm tired of Covid. This might sound crazy but back in November my wife and I took one of our cats to the Vet. We talked about Covid and the Vet said virus' usually last about 3 winters and as they mutate into various variants they do get weaker. He's a great Vet and has always been right when diagnosing the cats. He does a lot of research. I'm hoping he's right about Covid. You need a pickup truck to be a true redneck. lol

Time will tell but you might be right. This latest variant doesn't sound any worse than a common cold but that doesn't mean the next one won't be bad. Raining today but my Ninja got ridden 3 days in a row before this. I'm still getting used to it but felt pretty comfortable yesterday. The biggest thing I don't like is that I don't feel like a redneck on it. Oh well, after the novelty wears off I'll trade it for a dirt bike.

I got to see some live music tonight for the first time in ages. As part of the local Christmas events there are various acts playing on a temporary bandstand in town. Tonight it was a local family where the father sings, the mother plays piano and the son is an international award winning violinist. Funnily enough, they were the main act when I sang in the cathedral a couple of years back (we joined them on stage for 'Nessun Dorma'), and I've since found out that the mother is the cousin of friends of mine (well, this is Ireland after all!). To top it off, the mother had made Christmas cake for afterwards.

I think it's nice, that here in Hazzard, you can say stuff and nobody thinks you're weird or you don't have to explain what you mean or what you're talking about, because everybody in Hazzard knows all the episodes! It's great! We have our own little world here ( called Hazzard) which is about as close to perfect as any can be! We're all close and it's really like " Home"

If it wasn't for this thread, I wouldn't have understood this joke that I saw earlier. I assume there's room for five passengers!

Found a great one while researching Daisy's Plymouth. From that car's final chase leading up to its destruction at Kissing Cliff, they recycled the same shot but reversed it. I first noticed it by noticing the same body damage (rear fender above the wheel) on both sides. When I slowed it down frame-by-frame, I was shocked to see it was the EXACT SAME FOOTAGE but reversed...and that I'd never had a clue! First time we see it is the reversed footage. You can see on the supposed driver's side what is Luke's arm casually on the window ledge, gripping the roof...on what is actually the passenger side. In the subsequent shot, a millisecond later, the driver can be seen gripping the wheel on the wrong side (must've gone to the UK). One will also notice between the two shots the rear view mirror is on the wrong side, to emphasize what we have already seen. Now, compare the first photo with this one, taken later in the same chase scene. It's EXACTLY THE SAME but reversed. Even the tree, shrubbery, position of the Sheriff car, etc....

I don't think I've visited either of those sites. www.hazzardonline.com still appears to be available, but there's no trace of www.dukefarm.com. I know of a few other Dukes sites that are still running, but I can also name some that have disappeared over the past decade. HazzardNet may well be the only remaining Dukes forum after cglfc.com shut down about five years ago. I never joined cglfc.com, but I did read posts there from time to time. At the end of the day, it costs money to keep places like HazzardNet alive. We should be thankful that our Supreme Superior Commander is such a dedicated Dukes fan!

The tunnel on Soledad Canyon Road appeared in 'Duel' and 'Witness for the Persecution'.

There seems to be a trend here to post stuff that is a little bit edgy. That's no surprise since the world seems to have gone crazy. Since I have been part of the problem I really am not worthy of acting like Uncle Jesse and getting everybody back it line with a gruff authoritarian voice so I won't...... but I will say this: While I may be tempted in the future to post stuff that displays my anger about insane current events I will not anymore. This website is one of my favorite things in the world and I don't want to ruin it by being part of the problem. From this point forward I pledge to return to the fun that the HazzardNet is intended to be. After all, HazzardNet might be the only sane place left in cyberspace. Where would the internet be if it gets tainted and turns crazy too? I hope others join me in my pledge.
