  1. Started by Meadowmufn,

Since we have a huge community of NASCAR fans here, we decided to make a NASCAR sub-forum for NASCAR discussions. We've moved the large NASCAR thread here. If there are any other NASCAR threads you'd like us to move here too, please email us a link to the thread and we'll move it. Enjoy!

  2. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well today's NASCAR special has just ended on FOX that was called Daytona: The American Dream. Did anyone get to watch it? If so, what you think? I have to admit, I didn't have much expectation for the program other than that it was about the Daytona 500 and something to fill my NASCAR fix during this off weekend. But boy, was I wrong. Am so glad I watched it. I watched the Daytona 500, saw the big one, and saw the historically young driver win the great American race. Yet, it was just as exciting to see it again. Not only that, but to hear comments from Trevor Bayne, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards. Just awesome. The more I hear about Trevor, the more I like the kid. I hope he…

  4. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well, I for one, am having a hard time believing that the 2010 NASCAR season is over and that I am left waiting three months until the next race. It just seems wrong not to have a race on to watch on Sundays! Well lucky for me that there is a few breaks in the off season that either have a preseason race or for this instance, the award ceremony. The NASCAR award ceremony will be in Las Vegas as it was last year and only the top ten drivers are allowed to be there. This year award ceremony will be on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 9:00 PM (I assume EST since most are on that time zone, but it don't say, so I'd check your local listing to be sure on the time. . .) on the SPEED…

  5. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well I thought that since the chase will officially start this Sunday, that it would be fun to see who y'all think will be crowned champion at the end of the 2010 season (November 21st I think is the last race at Homestead Miami).

  6. Started by Garrett Duke,

With the 2011 NASCAR season underway, I have signed up for a NASCAR fantasy team for the second time in a row. Though this time it is with members from Jeff Gordon's official website fanforum and has more members that I had with my cousin's team which was only the three of us (though I was the winner of the team of three. Not so bad on my first try.) Though sadly, didn't fare too well on the first race of the season since all four of my starters were involved in accidents throughout the race. Well tonight I got to thinking that it would be neat to start a team of my own if I could find people interested in doing so. It is no big deal if I don't either, since I am a part …

  7. Started by Garrett Duke,

Here is the official Nationwide series points after the Phoenix race on Sunday: 1. Reed Sorenson 2. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 3. Jason Leffler 4. Danica Patrick 5. Joe Nemechek 6. Aric Almirola 7. Mike Bliss 8. Justin Allgaier 9. Kenny Wallace 10. Jeremy Clements Once again, I remind y'all that those that opted to run for the Sprint Cup championship and does race in the Nationwide Series races as well, will NOT recieve points in the Nationwide Series. (Joe Nemechek is a Cup driver...more of an start and park car. He must have opted for the Nationwide Series championship points...)

  8. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well today was the Nationwide Series Daytona race and sadly I missed it. Oh well guess I probably won't catch 'em all anyway, but Daytona would have been nice. Though I can gaurantee you that I will be watching the Daytona 500 tomorrow. (GO GORDON GO!!!!!!!!!!) Here is the top ten finishes of today's race: 1. Tony Stewart 2. Clint Bowyer 3. Landon Cassill 4. Dale Earnhardt Jr 5. Reed Sorenson 6. Jason Leffler 7. Kyle Busch 8. Ricky Stenhouse Jr 9. Michael Waltrip 10. Trevor Bayne

  9. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well I was going to wait until later to post the points since they won't be made official until tomorrow, but don't know when I'll have time to be online next. So I decided to post the unofficial points as they stand now. If I see that they change later, I will let y'all know. Here is the top ten UNOFFICIAL points after Daytona: 1. Carl Edwards 2. David Gilliland 3. Bobby Labonte 4. Kurt Busch 5. Juan Montoya 6. Regan Smith 7. Kyle Busch 8. Paul Menard 9. Mark Martin 10. AJ Allmindinger PS: In case y'all are wondering why Trevor Bayne is not first or on the top ten list in points, since he won today's race, let me remind you that NASCAR has made a new rule. Each driver ha…

  10. Well with the 2011 season only days away (y'all hear me yelling in excitement?! HA HA.) I figured I'd start a new thread for this year's race reviews and results. (I would love to continue to to give the race recaps, results, and point reviews if y'all would want me to? I might even start watching the Nationwide Series races this year to give reports over if y'all are interested. . .) I am excited to report that tomorrow (Saturday, February 12) on FOX at seven PM Central time, (8:00 PM ET) the Budweiser Shoot out will start to kick off Speed Week. It is a preseason race that will not be for points or go towards the chase and will only contain 20 some drivers who have eith…

  11. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well it may not be NASCAR and Jeff Gordon may not be in Indy, but did sit down and watched the Indianapolis 500 today and am glad I did. Anyone else watch it? If so, what you think? I thought it was exciting...but their late race restarts are just as crazy as they are in NASCAR. A lot of names were familiar to me. Don't know if it was of past Indy 500 I have watched or what, but the one that I knew the most, Dario Franchitti went on to win the race. He got hit from behind in an early pit stop taht sent him into a few tires...he had to replace the nose of his car in the pits and he came out 28th after that. He was quick to make it into the top five or so. Was surprised an…

  13. Well I may be premature in adding this thread here, but with 54 more days remaining until Daytona, I need something to fix my NASCAR withdrawl! So I will start this year's race review and results thread by posting the 2012 Spring Cup Series schedule (thanks to Jayski... a site that seems to have everything NASCAR related on it!): 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule Am very excited that my birthday is on a Sunday this year...and they will be at Talledega. Just hope that by February they will find a way to change that two by two racing at restrictor plate racing...

  14. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well the NASCAR season won't start for another 61 days . . . *SIGH*. . . and I for one am anxious for the arrival of speed weeks. Or better yet for Daytona 500...NASCAR's Super Bowl race. I just checked Yahoo's Fantasy Auto Racing (NASCAR) and they say that the season has concluded (sigh) but will reopen in early January. Only a week or so away! Which got me somewhat excited...for a fresh start in fantasy sports. Though I did make it into the play off section for my fantasy football team... Anyway, once again, am interested in creating my own Fantasy NASCAR league if I can find anyone interested in joining. Otherwise, I could create one and make it public...but it would…

  15. Well here it is as promised...my 2013 NASCAR race reives and results thread. With only ONE week until the Sprint Unlimited (use to be Bud Shootout) means only one thing...speed weeks is only ONE week away. Daytona 500 - the race that starts the 2013 season off- is only two weeks and one day away. And this NASCAR fan is...excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First off, here is a look at this year's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Well there has been a lot of changes done to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series during this off season. Major one being the NEW car that they got. Looks pretty slick. They are moving from the COT (car of tomorrow) to the Gen -6. Gen 6 The…

  16. I will posting the NASCAR Sprint Cup Point standings on this thread...as the title suggests. I will most likely do it on Monday or Tuesday seeing how NASCAR makes the point standings official on Monday...they do post them after the race, but they are unofficial. Just a small summary for the points. A driver can earn up to 48 points in a single race. They gain a point for each position that they gain...there is 43 drivers that start every race. The winning car will get 43 points, the last car will get one point. Then you can get a point for leading a lap, a point for leading the most laps...and the driver who won the race earns three extra points. There is 36 point rac…

  17. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well y'all...it is FINALLY that time of year again! It is now NASCAR season...well the season doesn't officially start until next Sunday at the Daytona 500...but eighteen cars has just started their engines at the Sprint Unlimited (Used to be known as the Bud Shootout). Bet y 'all can't guess who is excited???? I AM!!!!!!!!!!!! The Sprint Unlimited is on Fox Sports 1. Used to be known as the Speed Channel. Will write a summary of the pre season race once it is over. As Rosco would say...I love it, I love it! Khee!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Started by Garrett Duke,

Well y'all it is that time of year again. Last night was NASCAR's Sprint Unlimited race...the pre season race that kicks off speed weeks. The race was accident filled that had started off with Brad Keselowski's accident when Kyle Larson went up the track and got into him. Later Greg Biffle got into the back of Jamie McMurray which collected Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne and a few others. Later Greg Biffle got in another accident with Kevin Harvick got collected in a big accidents, Biffle hitting the wall hard. Matt Kenseth went on to win the race. After the race, Joey Logano got mad at Kevin Harvick and displayed his displeasure afterwards by bumping into him…

  19. Well the Nationwide Series raced at Daytona today and right before the checkered flag fell, a huge wreck forced Kyle Larson's car up into the fence. Injuring up to 28 fans...12 people getting rushed to the emergencey room...Tony Stewart went on to win the race. The accident There is a video and an article about the last lap accident...and that is one wicked wreck that left me in chills. Larson's engine was in the grandstand...his front part of his car was completely off. Glad to see him get out OK after that...he has to be shaken up and feel horrible about it. It's another Carl Edwards type wreck he had at Talledega. Just scary. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone…

  20. Well the chase will officially start on Sunday at Chicagoland...meaning we have ten races left of the season. Which of the twelve chase contenders do you think will win the 2011 championship: 1. Kyle Busch (18) 2. Kevin Harvick (29) 3. Jeff Gordon (24) 4. Matt Kenseth (17) 5. Carl Edwards (99) 6. Jimmie Johnson (48) 7. Kurt Busch (22) 8. Ryan Newman (39) 9. Tony Stewart (14) 10. Dale Earnhardt Jr (88) 11. Brad Keselwoski (2) 12. Denny Hamlin (11)
