I just watched two hours of CMAs Country Music Festival last night and I'm more convinced than ever that country music is dead. There were a few exceptions but basically those two hours were a rock/pop festival. Country and Western was what country used to be called but when the western part faded out, the western name was dropped. Marty Robbins was probably the last western singer. I think country should consider changing its name again since only about 20% of it is really "country" and that number drops every year. Thank goodness there's still a few country singers out there. Hey everybody... I know I haven't been on here for a while, but there's lots of reason! haha As many of you know, I love the farm more than anything. I live on our family farm that has been in the family for 100 years. My great-granddad was the first settler in this area, buying a 10 acre plot of land on the river bank. I just found out today that mom passed away. i'm not sure how to feel. We never had the kind relationship that you see on tv. She quit raising me at 16 left me to take of myself. Part of me wants to grive but part said why. Why waist the tears for her???

I was planning on going to an American car show today (this one where I sat in a General Lee last year), but various factors conspired against it. Luckily there was another car related event much closer to home: Cannonball Ireland 2011 came to town. Unlike the namesake movies from the '80s, this was not a race, but just a charity fund-raising cruise of some very expensive cars including Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis and Aston Martins amongst others: There were a few American cars there too: They all parked up in the grounds of the castle. There must have been several million dollars' worth of cars on show.

I have recently had a very unfortunate event happen to me. I was a victim of crime. This event has happened to me before and I realize that I need to be more careful, maybe it's a warning from the powers that be that I need to be more careful and less trusting of the world. However... with that being said, I currently work in a line of work that I have to deal with budding criminal minds every day. I have to help them complete their court ordered obligations so they can begin the rehabilitation processes. Now, after being a victim today of crime... I am reminded how different I am from criminal minds and how much the same I am. I want justice to be served, at any cost. …

My wife is down in Winchester Virginia today (Aug 18) visiting our daughter and she was in a doctor's office with our infant grandson. Also in the waiting room was a lady with two children. It's to late to tell you when this is because it was yesterday... Anyway, yesterday on Sunday we went to Silverstone as it was close to where we were on vacation. I've never seen a race on a real circuit before so I was quite exited. I've been to the Hockenheimring and the Nurburgring before but not on a raceday. As you probably noticed already, it was raceday of truck racing. Went in there, walk to a nice spectator area and sat down. Every time I see one of those commercials from those on-line dating services I think of Rosco's Mama's line from "Mrs Rosco P. Coltrane". I may not have it exactly right but it went something like "You got a girl out of a computer?" LOL If I ran one of those companies I'd pay Warner Brothers to use that clip in a commercial. The Dukes were way ahead of their time. Boss ran a solar powered still. Jesse invented ethanol. Rosco got a girl from a computer. I feel sorry for the city folks who think hicks aren't that smart.

Okay, today in my 4th period English class, we got to the subject of Homecoming For this years Freshman class float, our theme is the Dukes Of Hazzard! No kidding, it is, since this years theme was "A Day In A TV Show" My English teacher came up with the Dukes of Hazzard and everyone agreed The float will be decorated like the General Lee and were gonna dress up like the characters. Today was a crazy day for me. I had a stair give and i fell through. Tore my big toe nail almost all the way off, hurt my leg and bruise my other knee. It looked like the board was rotted because it was soft and pulled away from the other board it was nailed to. I'm ok, have my leg propped up with ice. Has anyone ever had an experience like that?

I've been absolutely glued to my TV set. Being from Canada, I don't get to talk to too many folks about baseball, as its more of an "American sport". Of course, we do have the Toronto Blue Jays (and I'm from Toronto!) but seeing the way our season went was just awful. But that's besides the point. Anyone been watching the playoffs? This year they have been amazing! I think that the Wildcard games, division series and championship series have all been the most exciting ones in recent memory. If anyone wants to talk baseball, hit me up in this thread! I'm obsessed.
