Introduce Yourself

If you're new to our forums or have just been lurking without posting, here's a good place to make your first post by introducing yourself. Tell us how big a Dukes of Hazzard fan you are! But remember, there IS such a thing as TMI (too much information). ;)

  1. Started by MaryAnne,

Hey y'all, Just a note to new users that your first post or posts will be moderated and they won't show immediately when you post. HNet is patroled pretty much daily by admin, but please allow admin time to catch up and approve posts before ya post the same post again. LOL Techncially, new users are moderated on their first 10 posts before they become a "regular" user, but if we can see you're a serious Dukes fan, we move ya over to regular status pretty quick so you can enjoy the site. That concludes this here public announcement. Carry on y'all!

Hello, First sorry for my poor english. i am 36 years old, french guy (but living in japan) when I was a child, I loved cars and also General Lee was my favorite (with K2000) The series was very popular in france too. I bought the DVD when they were commercializes for the first time in 2007 in France, and i really enjoy to view year after year. I regret not being able to live in the united states (green card, poor english) but it is my dream so I hope one day it will be possible. My favorite actor is james best, I discovered this community when James Best has died and when I did some research on him with google. Yesterday I felt bad, but watching an episode of the series…

  4. Hi, I am a new member here, and want to say HI to all my fellow Duke's of Hazzard enthusiasts. I have watch every episode when it aired live on TV. I was hooked on this show ever since then. And I am still hooked on it now. I am glad it is back on CMT starting today (Jan 5th) at 2 Pm. I will be watching it for sure! I have a 1969 Dodge Charger SE with a 383 CI Big Block (335 HP), and a 727 Automatic Transmission. It is a Numbers Matching Car and is a complete car. Everything there is what was put there from the factory. This car is a Factory A/C which is 1 of only 38 ever made this way. I have to put the A/C parts back on, but they are in the trunk for now. I have had the…

The name is artykidd, everyone. Imagine my joy and surprise when I stumbled upon this little gem of a website. The Dukes of Hazzard was the closest thing I had to a 'nightlife' when growing up and I enjoyed every episode, so much so that I always insisted upon climbing out the window of my mom and dad's vehicles everytime instead of using the door. Well, I'm anxious to go spelunking about the site and see what here. :wink:Arty

  8. Hello! I'm another italian Dukes fan. My name's Margherita (that means daisy!) I love this telefilm and I'm happy to be here!! I want to make a question to the other Italian fans: did you notice that there are some dubbing errors in a few episodes? I think that some dialogues have been translated later from a different dubber, because sometimes you can hear Bo or Uncle Jesse or Boss Hogg speaking with the same strange voice that is not their dubber's one! What a strange thing.. Best regards to everyone!!

Yes settle down and please keep with me. We totally stripped this beast of all its old history and rebuilt the thing properly. The right colour of paint, the correct decals( even got the white boarder ) the horn radio etc, Well next is to hit the road big time. Take 4 blokes with a passion, and head off to France, Switzerland, Italy, and then back to Glasgow, And yes we going to raise money for our local special needs school. And what fitting end to the gig, but a good old hoe down with a country western band, and auction the old girl to the highest bidder, Phew. We got page at crumballers.livejournal.com check it out and laugh, cry, or get angry, but the spirit of the L…

Hey all, I been away for awhile, and it feels great to be back. I have popped in here and there and now and again, but now gona stick around more. I have been fighting depression for a spell now, trying to fight it on my own, but all that did was drag me down even further. I had no desire to live, or do anything like I used to love to do, like being on here, making model cars and so on. I was on Zorpia, figuring if I help others with their problems, I could better deal with mine, that so did not work. I finally realized I have to go see my doctor and get some help, I realized this because I almost made a friend turn on me. Anyways, the last few weeks I have been better, s…

This might get everyone fired up but.... Did anyone consider that Boss Hogg was not the bad guy? Bo and Luke were ex cons running moonshine, they were speeding around all over Hazzard County in the General Lee and refused to pull over when the police were chasing them. Usually ending up in a terrible accident that destroyed one of the sheriffs cruisers. They would drive like Maniacs in the city putting the public in harms way. Meanwhile he has this dumbass relative as a sheriff that would not think to arrest the Duke boys at the Boar's Nest while they were getting liquored up to go on a drunk driving expedition. All of the property damage each week was pretty e…

  16. Started by Jeremy_Duke,

Glad to be here folks, hope I'll find a lot of great information here! Just a little about myself: I grew up in a small town similar to Hazzard from the series: my town was about 550 people, and surrounded by dirt/gravel roads; and I grew up in a muscle-car loving family--so naturally, as a kid--that country lifestyle was all I knew. It was only natural I should fall in love with the show and the General Lee. Unfortunately, I was forced to move to Utah when I joined the military some years ago--but there are still a few little towns here that remind me of home. As an occupation, I am part-time Air Force Reserve (I load bombs and maintain weapons systems) as a Staff Sergea…

  17. Hello all. My name is Earl and would like to thank you for letting me join your network of friends. I live in Northeast PA with my wife and four wonderful children. We have several old muscle cars, but none as fun to drive as are recently restored General Lee. If you have one you know what I mean. I look forward to getting to know many of you and hopefully meet several of you at the some of the Duke events. Feel free to drop me a line, like many I could talk all day about this stuff, but I also enjoy my family time. Thanks again... I'm gone!

  19. Started by CornishBelle,

...I'm new here so hello everyone! Right, a quick introduction: The first time I came across the Dukes of Hazzard was in a cardboard box of old die-cast cars. Not the most interesting but please bear with me! I was gifted them from a cousin who thought he had 'outgrown' all the toy cars. (What a silly boy, one does not 'outgrow' toy cars!) I accepted them gladly and after a quick rummage, I discovered only two cars I couldn't place so promptly went to ask my Dad. Well, it just so happened that one of those cars was an orange Dodge Charger and I think you can probably fill in the rest! I became a Dukes of Hazzard fan at the age of 13 and have hel…

  20. YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAWWWWWW.......... A big how-dee from the desert southwest of Tucson, Arizona! Actually I'm a native New Englander (north of Boston MA), and it was the Dukes who first introduced my brother and myself to words like "ain't" and "y'all", which of course we had never heard in Massachusetts. Much to our parents' horror.... I did spend 7 years of my adult life in the Deep South, marrying into a North Louisiana family who remembered when, during the show's heyday, almost every little town had someone who had a General Lee, with varying degrees of quality. I'm an award-winning master modelmaker, normally specializing in aircraft but I'm in the process of a li…

Hello, everyone. I just thought I'd sign up to check everything out here. It looks as though I have a lot to read. I'm looking forward to finding out more about other Dukes fans. As for me, I grew up watching the show and have passed on the love to my son who enjoys the series as much as I did. I have many fond memories of the show, toys and merchandising from the original show's era though I enjoy all aspects of the franchise for the most part. I collect a few related items and still have all of my 3.75" figures as well as my original Happy Meal vehicles rom the early 80's. My first car was a '71 Satellite as I was strongly influenced by it from season one. It was always…
