Introduce Yourself Latest Topicshttps://hazzardnet.com/forums/forum/56-introduce-yourself/Introduce Yourself Latest TopicsenThe carshttps://hazzardnet.com/forums/topic/7379-the-cars/ Life goes fast.  I probably posted here once upon a time.  I have FINALLY completed a years long process.  The General Lee is built from an original MPC kit from 1969 I picked up from e-bay.  The previous owner had painted it a gold/copper color back in the day with automotive paint(cannot be stripped/etches itself into the plastic).  I came across the Lee 1 story and it was perfect.  It took parts from numerous kits and hours of replaying scenes from One Armed Bandit.  Stories on the background cars to follow.

I've been watching The Dukes of Hazzard since it first aired (I was 7), and have been an absolute fan ever since! I grew up  in a Mopar family and have had my share of of muscle cars. I drive/own only Mopar, and the 1969 Charger has always been my favorite, I've had a couple of them. 

Anyway, most people on the show who come to Hazzard county, are just passing through, but I plan on staying for a while. Looking to rub shoulders with some like-minded people on here. I hope I can give at least as much as I get on this site.

I'm homeschooled so I'll probably be online pretty often. I want to learn guitar, I draw, (I'll be sharing often in the fanart topic) and I really like The Beatles/The Monkees. I am close to completing th Johnny lighting collection and just getting to season 7 after a long binge watch. Fully infected at this moment.

 

I am looking for help getting Hazzard county diorama stuff if any one knows a guy.  Also, looking to finish my  sons JL collection if anyone has anything in white lightning or something rare.

Did anyone consider that Boss Hogg was not the bad guy? 

Bo and Luke were ex cons running moonshine, they were speeding around all over Hazzard County in the General Lee and refused to pull over when the police were chasing them. Usually ending up in a terrible accident that destroyed one of the sheriffs cruisers. They would drive like Maniacs in the city putting the public in harms way. Meanwhile he has this dumbass relative as a sheriff that would not think to arrest the Duke boys at the Boar's Nest while they were getting liquored up to go on a drunk driving expedition. All of the property damage each week was pretty expensive and Boss Hogg had to turn to crime in order to pay for all of the damage that Sherriff Roscoe and the Duke Boys would cause. No insurance company would insure the Sherriff's Dept of Hazzard County. 

I think Boss Hogg is a misunderstood soul. :)

Been to most all the Georgia filming sites with other dukes fans and have owned my old charger since 1999. Had the uniform on it for over 10 years and had to do a re paint in 2012. It is still hemi orange but with a black R/T stripe and magnum 500 wheels. 493 ci with a 4 speed, has plenty of attitude for a resto looking charger.

I just picked up a Kyosho Phazer with a 70 Charger body, so I have a little work to do to convert it to a 69 General.

One way that I'm trying to separate my video(s) from those that are already out there is that I really want to make the rest of my props as correct as possible, within reason.  This starts with an accurate Sherrif's car.  There's virtually nothing out there in 1:10 scale for RC police cars at all, and certainly nothing that's period correct.  I started looking for 3d printable options, and although nobody has the 77 Monaco/Fury models that we're most familiar with, I did manage to find a 74 Monaco, which is one of the models used in season one.  This print is taking multiple days to print, and will take me even longer to sand, paint, and detail, but it should make for an awesome chase car!

In addition to the cars, I want to make a cardboard building or two, and of course, I need to come up with a ramp and something to jump over.  Going through this great site is really helping me to come up with some ideas, and hopefully soon I'll have a basic story board put together so I can start figuring out what props I'll need.  The cool thing about the props is that they're items that my kids can help me make, so it gets them involved in my hobby.

 

Anyway, if folks are interested, I'll post updates on my progress.

Meaning I wish I did live in a place where more and more people saw us as fellow Americans. And not in our liberalized categories. White/Black, Straight/Gay and or Male or Female. I cannot stand all that bull sh_t myself. I am part of the Human Race. And my skin color is what it is because God picked it for me. And I know I had nothing to do with that choice. I do, however, have the choice as to how I treat others and I have the choice how I conduct myself. Sorry for getting on a little bit of a soap box. That said, I'm glad there's this community as the show has been deemed "racist" by the media and so many would rather avoid talking about it even though the boys, Hogg and everyone were never offensive/racist (Hogg and Rosco were corrupt and slimy, but that's their thing).
