Hey y'all, I've decided to take my first few steps into modeling and what better way to do it than with a General Lee kit! It's a 1/25 scale MPC kit produced by Round 2 Models, I will be posting updates on this although I will be working on this whenever I have a free minute, so I apologise if updates are a bit inconsistent. 10:4 Joe

Hi guys, I've been a long time fan of the Dukes and back in the day I remember doing a few of the old MPC General Lee kits that turned out to be disasters. I just received a new MPC "Country Charger" kit as a gift and it appears to be just a "PC" version of the old General Lee kit. I know the kit isn't very good and it's full of inaccuracies but it's what I've got to work with and I would like to try and build a half way decent General with it. My question is: Where is the best place to order 1/24 scale General Lee decals from? I remember back in the day there were a few vendors who made more accurate versions than the kit provided but I cannot seem to find anything…

I started working on another General Lee model. This is the 1/25 scale MPC Snap Kit General Lee. I started by re-shaping the rear window. It's basically a rectangle in the kit so I made it a bit larger and rounded at the top and also changed the angle to be a bit more steep. I added missing window trim under the side windows and made the rear wheel openings slightly smaller in the rear. The body is painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red which was the color most used on the General Lee(s) in the TV show. The paint is from Gravity Colors. The decals represent the early Georgia car which is my favorite look. In a few days I'll spray the clear coat on the body. …

Here are the completed photos after several years of on-and-off work. Although posted before, here is my own philosophy of building a General Lee, which differs from so many other builds I've seen. Font is increased as per comments that it was hard to read. MY G.L. BUILD PHILOSOPHY My main criticism of most GL builds is that they are 'way too immaculate to be an in-use back-roads racing car driven by good-ol-boys on a farm. They always look...well, sterilized comes to mind. Absolutely gorgeous, like they're going for the trophy at a car show, with a car that's never driven except on and off a trailer. Not this one!! -Interior: Agree with many that the…

Photos to be posted soon. I wanted to put everything I could into the ultimate build, and this one took me about three years of on-and-off work. Seriously. -Interior: Agree with many that the darker brown "saddle" color of the earlier series looks better, but a darker interior will hide most great …

This is another one of my models completed the year before. Tough to find Ford pickups of the proper timeframe, and I found an old one on Ebay. In fact, it still had it's original purchase receipt in the box, dated 18 January 1975, almost four years to the day before the series started! So, all throughout my childhood watching the series every Friday night, this kit was sitting somewhere in someone's closet waiting for a 40-something year old me to purchase it and build decades later. I tend to think like that; if you don't, then y'all don't mind me..... Major bodywork had to be done; the kit depicted a vehicle with lots of side trim whereas Jesse's had none. This ha…

Finally finished this one. Started with kitbashing the MPC Dodge Monaco Police Car with the AMT 1971 Dodge Charger since the MPC chassis, suspension and engine are almost worthless, my opinion. Added to that: -rebuild grille with fine mesh -resin cast headlights and bumpers, the latter heavily improved/modified -resin cast wheel hubs and caps -scratchbuilt CB antenna and side marker lights -completely rebuilt/redesigned lightbar. Started with an aftermarket on which sadly turned out to be only a slightly improved copy of the kit's. -Good ol' Flash patiently awaiting Rosco Build thread is here: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=2902…

Latemodel Sportsman Mod Released by: Scott HawbakerThese were the classes that ran the heartland through the 1970's and early 80's. These cars ran on both short track Dirt and Asphalt. The carset is a from the Midwest, mainly Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois and Nebraska and many were the big name drivers of the day. Included is the rookie car of Billy Moyer Jr. This is the car I watched him race in when he was still a nobody cutting his teeth at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines Iowa. Now, he is a Super latemodel legend. As always, I gotta thank my Man Dave for his help not only uploading the mod, testing the mod and cleaning up and adding his own personal touch…

I recently started working on an MPC General Lee build. I know the Revell '69 Charger kit is a much better kit, in fact I have a couple of those. However I wanted to see if I can make the MPC kit just a little bit nicer and more accurate. The kit I'm building is the most resent issue by Round 2. I have an original issue from back when the Dukes Of Hazzard was first on the air with the incorrect rear window. I was happy that the newest issue comes with the correct tunnel back rear window. Well when I opened the box the tunnel back rear window didn't quite look right. The molding is too wide and the shape looked off. I took out one of my Revell '69 Charge…

Howdy everyone out there on the Hazzard net. Who all here likes farming simulator? I prefer Farming Simulator 2013 over 15 but maybe I'm a little biased. I have found the General Lee for the 2013 version so I like to use it as a drive around vehicle. Here's the link. http://www.farming-mods.net/mod/general-lee-v2-0/ I think you will like it. If there are any farmers that play the game out there, feel free to post a link to your favorite mod that you downloaded. I'm gone!

I'm mainly working on the General, however I decided to incorporate the sheriff's car in here as well. I'll give more detailed pictures later when both models are finally complete. http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y510/BrentonH77/IMG_0291_zps5dfc4f4f.jpg' alt='IMG_0291_zps5dfc4f4f.jpg'>

HELP!!! Does anyone know where I can get a 1/25th MPC model kit of Cooter's Tow Truck. Evidently they are really rare and I don't want to pay more than $50 for one. I've tried Ebay but like I said I don't want to pay the prices those can go up to. Some of the ones I see that are listed as Buy it now are 80, 90, even up to $120 for one single kit. I mean seriously it's a model kit and not a priceless heirloom. If I wanted to pay that much for it, it'd never come out of the box and if I did put it together then it had better drive itself and put itself together. Anyway does anyone know of anywhere in the U.S. that sells this particular kit for reasonable prices? Thank you.

I thought we should have a single thread to post information about Dukes-related diecast models, new and old. My interest lies in 1:18 scale models, but feel free to discuss other scales. Sadly, I don't currently have the funds or the space to add to my diecast collection (especially with a less favorable exchange rate than it was a few years back). That doesn't mean that I've stopped looking at new releases, so I thought I'd start this thread with a slightly belated round-up of some Dukes-related 1:18 scale cars that came out in the months before Christmas. The first three are released under the Johnny Lightning name, but I think they all use the old ERTL molds. The firs…

Here's some pics of 3 little ducklings I hatched in September. The little duck with the funky hairdo is Sgt Quackers, the other little black one is Beatle, and the little silver one is Lucky. My babies are getting bigger everyday and now, almost 4 months later, they're almost the same size as their parents. Lucky is a girl, Sgt. and Beatle are boys. All three have the same daddy, but Lucky has a different mom than the boys. Sgt Quackers was born 9-9-12. Beatle and Lucky were born 9-10-12.

Here are the NFL playoff teams. Pick who you think will win the Super Bowl and who you think they'll beat. Pick one team from each of the two conferences. You're picking who you THINK will win, not necessarily who you WANT to win. If you'd like, put a little side note in there with who you WANT to win. National Football Conference Packers 49ers Vikings Falcons Seahawks Redskins American Football Conference Colts Patriots Texans Ravens Broncos Bengals ROGER DUKE PICKS THE FALCONS TO BEAT THE TEXANS IN THE SUPER BOWL GO ATLANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time next year will be very exciting if astronomers are correct in their predictions. The most brilliant comet ever seen by anybody alive is on the way and should be at it's brightest by Christmas 2013. The comet may possibly be as bright as the full Moon and it may become so bright it will be visible in daytime. Often predictions of comets' brightnesses don't live up to the hype but even if it doesn't this will still be a spectacular sight. It is currently in the area of the constellation Gemini and is only visible with large telescopes and only looks like a tiny white dot. When it does start to become visible in the fall it won't be visible in the evening. Seeing …

I've loved astronomy my whole life. If anybody here as ever been under a truly dark sky and witnessed the Milky Way Galaxy in all its glory, you might have an idea why somebody can get hooked on the hobby. When I was 19 years old (the year Dukes came out) I bought property that I eventually built a house on. I still live there. The skies are very dark....an astronomers paradise. For a third of a century I've enjoyed my hobby under the best skies imaginable for my area. When I bought the property I only had one neighbor. Today I still have the same neighbor and they're like family to me. Two days ago they put up a street light. Not only that but they put it up in the wo…

Anyone else excited about the football season starting? If so which games are you excited for and what team are you going for? As my title states, chicago Bears are my favorite team...they are playing the Indianapolis Colts today. Right now the Bears just got a touch down and are leading 24 to 14 going into half time. This Bears fan is excited thus far...Jay Cutler and the Bears are on fire today.
