Movies

Debate which of the three Smokey and the Bandit movies were the best (I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the third). Or just talk about your other favorite movies.

  1. Started by Julieduke,

Has anybody seen the H.B. Halicki Gone In 60 Seconds movie, if you have by the box set and watch the version with the commentary and there is some surprizing stuff in it. I was wandering how do you think Gone In Sixty Seconds(2000) compares to the original and if you only seen the new movie, then rent the original and see the difference for yourself.

  2. Started by HossC,

I always enjoy watching this film - it's one of those films that I have on DVD, but still watch when it comes on TV. First there's the cast - Joe Pesci, Marisa Tomei, Ralph (Karate Kid) Macchio, and the final film appearance of Fred Gwynne. Then there's the '64 Buick Skylark convertible and Vinny's Series 62 Caddy. Finally the defense case relies heavily on lots of technical car stuff. There's definitely something sexy about a woman quoting car stats (not that I find it hard thinking of Marisa Tomei as attractive:)). 'Top Gear' in the UK had Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz on as guests this week, and Jeremy Clarkson (the host) made Cameron talk about carburetors.

I don't have good details on this one, I'm hoping Cap'n Redneck can help me out. It was mentioned on another thread and this is a wild flick worth mentioning here. First of all, the getaway car in this flick is a black Charger, and I believe it's a '69 or '68. This is another 70's-era movie that was a cross between an action/crime flick and massive car chase. I recall it being violent for the day; but by today's standards it's probably a creampuff. The singular feature of this film that gives it my recommendation, is the shock ending. I think the first time I caught this flick on TV, I literally jumped at the ending. And then the credits roll, and you're just sitti…

  4. As some of you know and some of you have seen by reading the Chance Walker series, I am a big supports of the Doctors/Nurses Without Borders programs. These brave people volunteer their medical skills to go into some of the most devastated war-torn or disease ridden areas of the world, often risking their own lives to heal others. I've used DWM in Doc's stories and as a explanation to when is not in Hazzard, but I'm glad to see now there is a documentary coming, giving a first hand view what this program is about and how it affects both the doctors and the people living in these countries. I'm glad DWB is starting to get the recognition and increased awareness its deserv…

I just watched the funnest movie ever the other day on TV. It was called Lone Star State of Mind. It was soo funny! It has Matthew Davis in it, (He's reallly good looking! hahahaha) and a guy off of another movie that I can't think of right now. (Helpful eh?) But if you see it on TV one night, I would suggest that you watch it. I don't know if it would be exactly "Everybody's cup-o-tea" per-say, but it's a really funny movie

I watched The Blind Side last night - starring Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw. I thought it was an awesome movie - a very emotional movie, especially knowing they are based on true events. Glad to see that it all ended up at a good end, an happy ending. This is the third movie that Tim McGraw has been in, though this is the first one that I've seen him in. Haven't seen the other two as of yet. Surprisingly since I am a big fan of his music. Anyway, I thought he did a great job playing the part he played! Just thought I'd give my two cents worth on and to see what everyone else thought of the movie that has seen it so far.

My wife and I rented "The Taking of Pelham 123" tonight. Normally I don't read credits at the end of a movie but for some reason I caught these. After the name Gary Baxley caught my eye I backed it up to make sure I read it right. After that, I went to his bio on the internet, and sure enough, Hazzard County's very own Gary Baxley was one of the stunt men on that movie. I wish I would have know which stunt (or stunts) he did. It's always a thrill to see a Hazzardite's name on the screen when you're not expecting it.

Since this forum hasn't been used for awhile I thought I'd get things stirred up. I saw Avatar several weeks ago and I was wondering what other folks thought of it. The visual effects were expectedly spectactular but I didn't necessarily think the plot was that great. They simply took what the Europeans did to the native American Indians and made it into a futuristic story. (I'm sure stuff like that went on in lots of other countries too besides North America). I'm not complainig. The movie was worth the money just for the special effects alone but the story-line didn't have enough twists in it to satisfy me. What do you think? Also, does anybody know how they got the n…

  9. Last week I finally seen the newest Indiana Jones movie and it was good as well, different but good still the same I don't know if they'll make a fifth but this ought to be intersecting now.

I watched this film the other day, and discovered a continuity error! When the bomber comes out of the loo in his flat, you see him sit down in front of screens. One of them has a film of the bus moving along the highway with police escorting them, while Jack and Sandra Bullock (the character's name skipped my mind right now) are speeding round the airport runway. With no police at all!!!

  16. I find it ironic that two movies that I've bought recently have father and son now. Moonrunners is great if you haven't seen it wait till you see what the Mule's name is now, and James Mitchum Plays "Grady Lee Hag" and in Thunder Road it stars his father "Robert Mitchum great western star.

As soon as I get some caps , I will post them. Well this summer another movie of fast cars and crazy stunts, coming to theater this summer, with Diesel of course and the other dude. The name of course "Fast and Furious", the trailer looks ok, seen a couple, and some of it is stretched a bit, but what the heck, can;t wait to see it.

  20. Started by Julieduke,

This movie stars David Hasselhoff and Crystal Allen and he does a twist at the end you would never expect out of him now. But a good quote for the lady doc is "Die You Slimy *****" she is talking to a queen 60 ft Anaconda now.

I have recently bought the Movie Love Me Tender(1956) and Imdb doesn't even mention that James Best played Brett Reno he did a great job with the role. He was one scene where he grabs Clint Reno who is played by Elvis Presley after he is hitting Cathy and he does a good job with and even takes him gun from as well.

I just bought a copy of the movie "Black Dog" and it has Patrick Swayze, Randy Travis and Meatloaf and it's pretty cool movie. The entire soundtrack is nothing but Country Music and it seems that my boyfriend at the time when he had went to the theatre to see didn't even like it because the musice bugged the heck out of him. Well, that was ten years ago the theatre where I had seen at in Parmatown mall is now a Dick's Sporting Goods and I dumped him because he tricked my into getting him a Bp Credit Card in which he charged around 600 dollars to it. Well, I got the last laugh because his first credit card has said "Brain instead Brian" and BP considered it a joint account…

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone would be kind enough to make me a copy of "Contagious" on a DVD? The only copies I can find are on VHS and I'm not exactly wanting to buy a VHS player for one movie, lol. There are other movies I'm looking for copies of as well, which don't have Tom Wopat in them. If anyone is willing to do this for me please let me know through email at: michelle98neon@yahoo.com Thanks!!

I've watched this movie a number of times, it's a good movie. A lot of people here probably haven't seen it or heard of it because it's a rare movie. It's about a nurse who picks up her car from the garage and while she's at the garage, she meets a business man who is trying to get to the airport; his car is not ready yet. While on the way to the airport, to drop off the business man (Ed), she picks up her sisters baby. While on the way to the airport, she almost runs over a pedestrian. He asks for a ride to the phone so Jenny (the nurse) let's him get a ride with them. As there driving, their brakes fail and an officer (Bo) tries to stop the car. He stops Jenny earlier f…
