When asked to comment on his 1980 movie Raise The Titanic, the producer/maker said "Raise The Titanic. It would've been cheaper to lower the bloody Atlantic!" Very pricey movie. Due the special effects and the giant 55 foot life sized miniature model big enough for people to walk on. Most of the budget was spent on building that giant model. Clive Cussler author of the book the movie is based on of the same name he was not happy with the end result, and refused to sell that studio the rights to make anymore movies based on his books for awhile.

Just thought I'd let you guys know Days of Thunder is streaming for free on Pluto and other streaming apps this month, think it's the new 4k remaster.

I was watching the news today and they were talking about a movie that is out for streaming (or whatever that fancy stuff is called). It is titled "Arkansas" and stars Vince Vaughn, John Malkovic and (Thor's brother) Liam Hemsworth. It's about a small time Southern crime boss. I suspect that he isn't as nice as our favorite small time Southern crime Boss but still, they have some similiarities. I don't remember who wrote the book but the same guy who wrote the screenplay is also the same guy who directed it and stars in it. He said that the boss character reminded him of his grandfather. The name of this writer/director/ actor is Clark Duke! Yep, he's a Duke boy! A Duke …

Just read a story that the latest Furious movie destroyed most of the cars they bought for production including 9 1968-70 dodger Chargers . I know it's a drop in the bucket compared to how many were destroyed making the Dukes of Hazzard series but still sad to see 9 more go to the scrapyard. I'll be glad when this movie franchise is finally dead!

I think most people here remember the Cannonball Run movies for Catherine Bach in the Countach, but there was more Hazzard in it than only Cathy. In Speed Zone, which some people consider to be Cannonball Run 3, is John Schneider also driving a Countach. Both of these are quite known. There is more though, in the first part of the first Cannonball Run are some driving parts which looks like the exact same roads as from the Georgia episodes on Dukes. But that's not why I posted this. There is one scene where they land and take-off with a plane in the middle of Covington! They land to get some beer. Here you can see they really did take-off in Covington, the building in t…

And the Oscar goes to... Beside my italian pride, it's really a great movie. Thanks to Paolo Sorrentino (and his sources of inspiration) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w7Mm1ez0fs

OK…saw I saw Eddie Macon's run day before yesterday and Snow Beast yesterday. This thread is to talk about movies that John Schneider has either acted in or I think he directs to…and it doesn't have to be just John if he and other members of the Dukes cast is in it that's OK too. And I would like suggestions for movies to watch. I have Netflix so…if I have titles I can look for movies and watch them.

I just watched Eddie Macon's Run for the first time. I liked it. John Schneider was in it and it had to be during the Duke period since it was released in 83 year I was born.

Miyazaki last movie. He's just announced retirement (I'll confess I've cried ). I've seen nearly ALL Studio Ghibli's movies, and in a World of "emotional pornography" (in movies, books, stories) I love these oasis of genuine and positive emotions. THANKS Hayao!! You gave me a lot, and I've learnt a LOT.

One of the BEST movies I've ever seen. Poetic, emotional, intense. And the sound-track... OMG, the sound-track is amazing (uh, well, Joe Hisaishi is great, always!!) OK, I admit I'm a fan of oriental movies....

Anyone else seen Top Gun in Imax 3D? I saw it yesterday and it looked AMAZING. The first time I saw the whole thing. Now I love it. Commence the continual listening to the album. (Just normal me when I'm into something new.)

So I just finish watching Smokey and the Bandit and watched the part with Sonny in it. But when he flew into that pond of water, I just had to laugh. The only thing I could think was, "He wasn't thinking that he would be doin' that more." I couldn't help thinking that since it's true. I wonder what he thought when he did have to do it, even though he was in a car and not on a motorcycle.

Hey y'all I bought the Back To The Future box set on Sunday. My family are away down the country today, and I'm not feeling that great, so I decided to have a Back To The Future day. I wasn't around in the 80's, but I'm sure the idea of hoverboards and flying cars was very believable. Imagine what the world will be like in 30 years, in 2042!! I can easily imagine flying cars and hoverboards, especially since Doc and Marty have already been to 2015 and hoverboards and flying cars were common. So is everyone looking forward to converting their cars to flying mode? Or is everyone preparing for the end of the world in December?
