Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion

Why is it that Roscoe was replaced from time to time? I don't think they ever gave an explanation as to why in the show and I haven't been able to find anything online that gives a good solid answer. Also wondering if there's a list anywhere about the 'guest sheriffs' that subbed for Roscoe. Didn't both Jackie Gleason and the Louisiana Sheriff from the 70's James Bond movies come thru?

Greetings everyone! I am new here and thought I'd introduce myself by creating a post about the Dixie horn that I built myself. It was pretty easy to build and it is loud! The nice part is it sounds exactly like an original Jubilee Dixie air horn from 1979. There are no moving parts to wear out and it plays perfectly in tune. I would love to hear your feedback on it. This will be a tough thread that will test us pretty good. Ask if something in particular was ever on (even just once) in the 7 years of the ORIGINAL SHOW. You don't even have to know the answer. Was there ever a cat on the show? I can't think of one.

Hey guys last june i went down to covington georgia with my family to revist the dukes of hazzard. it was amazing and the people are so nice down there. When we went down we had pictures of what the famous Dukes Of Hazzard sites looked like back in 1978 and we took pictures of them in the exact same spot of what it looks like now. Last night me and my uncle finished turing those pictures into a video and we posted it on youtube. Its a pretty cool video. Hey all, long time no see :-) Here's something that I noticed a long time ago, and it's been bugging me ever since but I never asked around : In "Repo Men" (Georgia episode) there are some interior scenes at the Duke farm, that clearly show the "california kitchen". I haven't found any previous posts about this. Does any know if this was a set they built in Georgia? If so, it would seem strange they didn't make it look like the "real" Georgia farm kitchen. Or were they already shooting in California when they were filming Repo Men? Or did they re-shoot these scenes later on?

Love rewatching the show with Bo and Luke just good time and all, but Coy and Vance as good as they tried to be Bo and Luke's replacement it just didn't work, imo. They were good boys no doubt and very friendly, at least there's that. Some replacements are just painful to watch.

How many times has he landed his butt in the Hospital their were 3 injury episodes " Brotherly Love , Goodbye General Lee , and In this Corner Luke Duke . I ain't wrong here it seemed to me that because he was the lead Character that he would suffer most of the serious injuries not that I didn't enjoy seeing him lying in a hospital bed Unconicous he looked so hansom even though he was hurt what are some of y'all's Opinions about this ? and which ones are your favorite Luke Duke injury episodes ?

Which season of the Dukes is your favorite? I couldn't really tell you mine 'cause I'm a relatively new fan and I haven't seen all the seasons yet.

l know there was an episode where a group of senior citizens were angry at Boss. One of them left his detonator at the farm and Bo and Luke thought it belonged to Uncle Jesse. l have all 7 seasons on DVD and want to watch it but don't know what the episode is called. Haven't seen that one in about 5 years.

Hey y'all. Does any of y'all know what footage the war maneuvers in this episode come from? Is it from a movie or a another TV show? All I know is, it's obviously stock footage from something else that this The Dukes of Hazzard episode used.

I had a dream last night... I went to Dukes Fest, and did lots of Dukes stuff. Then, I grabbed a hotdog or something and sat down. Ben Jones himself came up to me and said "Mind if I sit here?" so I agreed, and I got his autograph!

Wondering if anyone knows what happened to this car? I saw it at Grand Bend Mopar Weekend back in 1998, we were walking back to our campsite after the days show had ended and it had just pulled in and was registering (yes he drove it there). The guy said he bought it off an ad that was in the back of hot rod magazine, and used the money they had saved up to put down on a house for it - and the wife left lol. It was not a show car by any means, pretty rough around the edges. Anyone now what happened to it or where it is now?

Howdy Y'all, Does anyone know where the Dukes of Hazzard was shot? Where the Boars Nest was? Where the chases always seemed to happen? I just watched the TV series "V" and I swear some of the chase scenes were in the same as the Duke chases. Thanks Rich

I'm back on the first season and the first episode is " One Armed Bandits" and it turns out that Luke loaned his car to Cooter and he never gets it back! OK..... 1. What kind of car was it? 2. Why did Cooter need it? 3. Why didn't Luke ever get it back? Nobody seems to have thought about this!

Have you noticed in the opening of Trouble at Cooter's, Russ Mitchell in his brown van hauling the fur coats, hits Cooter on purpose? He smiles before backing up into Cooter's truck.

I remember seeing part of an episode where Rosco and Boss arrested Bo and Luke for a stolen General Lee. Then Bo and Luke said claimed the car as their's but Boss said open the doors and the doors opened. I am not talking about Episode 7 Dukes Meet Cale Yarborough.

Had a General Lee picture with a beautiful woman sitting on the roof. My reaction to the post was a ❤ and my comment was: They kind of already done that when they banned the TV show

I would like to recreate the intro/theme song for the Dukes of Hazzard. Does anyone know where those clips come from? I know that the long jump at the start comes from Season 2 Episode 7 at 33:35 Other than that I have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dunno if y'all saw but I did a little thing about the Demise of Daisy's RoadRunner and the phantom head that pops up in the back of the car before it goes off the cliff. A sharp eyed Duke fan pointed that out to us awhile back. (Those of ya that didn't see it, there's a link on the front page of HNet) Now I'm wonderin'....anybody ever seen any other odd or strange things in episodes of the Dukes?

Dukes of Hazzard fans... I discovered something now I have to check the series for this. The 2 versions of Racing For Home PS and PC and PS Daisy Dukes It Out you see the bottom of the Waylon beard. After the 1st couple of guitar plucks. During the first couple plucks of the guitar his head nods down and the bottom of beard is seen. Now I have to look for that in the show cuz I never noticed. Since it's the same footage in the game, it's probably there in the series too?
