  1. Howdy there, T'DukesFan01, welcome to HazzardNet! Sounds like you have an awesome Dukes collection. There are plenty of Dukes fans in Texas, and plenty more of them right here. The surviving cast members from the Dukes of Hazzard are pretty good about making public appearances. Your best bet for meeting as many of them as you can, in one trip, would be to attend Hazzard Homecoming this August. See our topic on DukesFest/Hazzard Homecoming for info and pictures of last year's gig. Meanwhile, thanks for joining us, make yourself at home!
  2. Just curious...does anybody know of anyone who has given up the internet (non-work related) for Lent? I'm wondering, because our volumes are down a little bit over the past week, here at the flagship site and also the FB page. Looks like some other Dukes pages have tapered off too. And it's not due to a lack of Dukes news, with all the cast appearances going on and such. What do ya'll think?
  3. In case you missed this on our homepage, or missed it on our facebook page, or you're not reading this either, CMT is airing 8 hours of The Dukes of Hazzard on Tues, Feb 28! Starting at noon Eastern, check yer local listings! There's a rundown of the scheduled eps on both the above locations. We're happy to see CMT airing the Dukes during family viewing hours! Even if it's just for a day. Meanwhile, CMT is also airing the Dukes at 1 and 2 am during the weeknights, and they're about to roll into the first season again. Follow our facebook page for nightly Dukes episode updates on CMT.
  4. Thanks for sharing the pictures Garrett! I'm glad you were able to go to the show, and that you had a great time! If you have any more pics please feel welcome to post them!
  5. Turns out MaryAnne was correct on that scene I was looking for. Thanks cousin! Roger, you'll halfta be the tie-breaker on that Enos scene question you put up...I coulda swore it was just Daisy at the airport with Enos, but Hoss has me doubting myself too.
  6. Looks like I need to drop everything and go to the store. Cookies. Now.
  7. I can't even believe I missed this before. Bahahaha! This is great. Be kinda hard to make an arrest with that Charger, wouldn't it? Sure, you can catch people, but you'd have to cram 'em through the windows to haul 'em in. Guess that's what the ol' cuff n' stuff is all about. I just caught up on that thread, thanks for reposting here! Great stuff as always, Hoss!
  8. I see how ya are. What, are there signs around here that say "Don't Feed the Moderator" or something?"
  9. Aw, no cookies for me. But that 'no stangers' thing? Doesn't stop the kids in my town. Either they ain't as strict in my neck of the woods, or these girls are dirty ruthless when it comes to outselling other troops. I get at least 3 or 4 of 'em showing up at the door to sell cookies. Then, once delivery time rolls around, these kids are setting up tables outside of the grocery store and Walmart and selling boxes of cookies by the crate. Ya know, between the Girl Scouts selling cookies, the Boy Scouts selling popcorn, and the 4-H kids selling frozen pizza, I could stay in groceries for a month just on fundraiser food.
  10. I agree with B.L. there. Pardon the interruption of our normally scheduled trivia, but I got a question. Does anybody know what the episode is, where Bo and Luke double up on a horse and ride back to the farm? In the same ep, the General Lee loses brakes or something, and is left at the side of the road. Somebody asked for a YouTube clip of the General Lee/haystack scene, but the requester doesn't know the episode, or the plot, and while I can remember the scenes, I cannot pull this one outta memory. I know it's not in "The Rustlers" and it's not in "Big Brothers Duke" though both those eps have horses. And while I'm not positive, I don't think it's "Bye Bye Boss" which also has Dukes on horses. I'm fresh outta ideas. Does anybody have the answer?
  11. Excellent photos, thanks for sharing! We've heard nothing but good things about Tom at this show. Hopefully he'll do these a little more often! I'm glad you and your son got a chance to see him.
  12. Dude, that's just...wrong on so many levels. But I betcha Hoss comes up with a Photoshop of it! Hoss, you make it, and I'll put it on the home page.
  13. I gotta see if my local Walmart has one of these. I want one! And it's given me a real bad fanfic idea. Muahahaha.
  14. There ain't no distance on the internet. Just make yourself a sales page, install a PayPal widget, charge shipping and handling and you can sell cookies anyplace ya want. You just box 'em n' ship 'em. Hmm. Maybe I should sell Girl Scout cookies. Of course, if I joined the organization, that politician would really have something to complain about. KHEE!
  15. Thanks for the tip, Chrisr01! We'd heard that John was charging quite a bit more than the rest of the cast, at Hazzard Homecoming last year. Whatever he's gonna charge at this car show, it ain't been publicized. Garrett, we would truly appreciate any pics you can share! Hope you have a great time!
  16. Oh, for cryin' out loud...is there anything in this country that is safe from politics anymore? Anything at all? I don't know much abou the Girl Scouts other than what I read on the cookie boxes. I've never heard about the allegations in the article. It's disturbing that despite this politician's real-life, positive experiences with the organization, he's basing his opinions off of something he read on the internet. K-Duke, you gotta take haters with a grain of salt. The best way to fight a negative is with a positive. When you and your Troop do something good for the community, it speaks volumes over a doofus like this guy. The pen may be mightier than the sword, but actions speak louder than words. Now, put me down for a dozen boxes of Girl Scout cookies. I like them peanut-butter ones that are covered in chocolate.
  17. Brad has some good advice there. I also think you'd do fine with the VW, as those are pretty reliable. Your first car needs to be safe and practical and affordable. How much driving do you plan to be doing, on the daily average? You might wanna ask yourself how badly you really need a car at this stage. For example, if you're going to attend a college out of town in the near future, and living in a dorm, it may not make a lotta sense to plunk down money on a car right now. Me, I was completely stupid when I was 19. I not only HAD to have a car, (since I was working) I had to have a fast car. So I bought a used 1974 Chevy Nova that was mostly a V8 350 motor with some metal attached. It looked something like this, for the two weeks I had it: Two weeks later, the car was totalled, and I was temporarily wrecked. I had been barreling down the highway when a station wagon pulled out directly in front of me, from a side road. I t-boned that sucker hard. I had just enough strength to turn off the still-roaring engine after the wreck. Then, I woke up in the ambulance when they were cutting off my clothes. So...first cars. They can teach you a lot. Mine taught me to always wear my seatbelt. ( I hadn't been wearing one at the time, and there were no airbags in these things. I was lucky that I only needed a cast and some stitches and some weeks to heal.) Anyhow! With today's gas prices and insurance costs, play it smart, whatever you do. Later in life, you can give yourself the luxury of a "fun" car while still having a daily driver, and you'll have learned a lot by then without paying too high of a price.
  18. Pfft ?! Smarty pants! But I'm glad you're enjoying HazzardNet. I just never know what door people are coming through so I gotta cover all the bases. Gaah, which reminds me, I'm behind on the FB site! 'Scuze me while I go over there.
  19. Just a reminder, ol' "Bo Duke" himself will be at the Rod & Custom car show in Monticellow, Iowa this coming weekend, Feb 25 & 26! Monticello is maybe a half-hour or so out of Dubuque. You can see the shindig details here. We also did a write-up for it on our home page. Personally, I think it's cool that John and Tom are both doing a car show this year. I know Ben has one coming up in March, and Jimmie and Sonny have one in March as well. We'll be promoting those very soon, and I thank everybody who's been posting about them on the Forums. That's not even counting Hazzard Homecoming and the fall appearances that are lining up. As always, we'll do our best to keep ya'll informed! If you hear of a new appearance, always feel welcome to post about it!
  20. Looking forward to this, thanks ya'll for the info!
  21. Some of ya'll were recently asking if we had an app for mobile devices. Mufn reminded me that we do have an app for iPhones. It's free and you can download it from iTunes. Just do a search for "hazzardnet" on the iTunes app section. Please note that if you don't already have iTunes installed, you'll need to do the free download first. Then do your search. At this time, we don't have a universal mobile app, such as thru android. That's a whole different can of corn. We apologize for any inconvenience. Meanwhile, we hope that the iPhone app helps some of you out. Thank you, as always, for your input and comments, as it helps us with future planning for HazzardNet!
  22. Wow, I didn't know Tom made house calls! That was pretty cool of him to stop by. Thanks for sharing the pics!
  23. Awright, our Shameless Seedy Sources tell us that no, Byron's General Lee replica did not sell, but it's back on ebay for $99,000. You can check it out here: http://dukes.me/byrons_general_lee Meanwhile, our Lee-O-Meter for market conditions reports that GL replica prices are soft, and will probably stay such for awhile. Values are best when these cars have "matching numbers" and are proven point-winners at car shows. The ones I've seen lingering on the market lately, are the '68 or '70 models that have been modified to look like a '69, and do not have the original motor, but have some other rebuilt hemi. I'm not an expert on this stuff, I just watch the trends. Anybody have anything different to share, chime in!
  24. I dunno if Hoss is impressed, but I am. Rock ON with yer bad self.
