  1. Yes, the October 2011 Fan o' the Month is i1976!! i1976 is a reknown Enos and Daisy fan who joined HazzardNet back in February of 2007! Join us in congratulating her!
  2. Sorry for the delay in announcing the Oct 2011 Fan of the Month. I have 3 good candidates, all of whom have been around here for years, all worthy of recognition. I didn't get a chance to run them past Mufn or MaryAnne yet. I hope to make the announcement tomorrow, thanks for your patience ya'll!
  3. I agree with both B.L. and Hoss. (on an aside, it would figure that when poor ol' Rosco gets thrown a party, they spell his name wrong. Heh!)
  4. Thank you Cap'n Redneck (welcome back!) and Roger for the kind words. But it's you guys, and all the readers and members like you, who make HazzardNet what it is. Over the years there has been a lot of great conversations here in the forums, along with awesome content and stories contributed by fellow fans. If you enjoy HazzardNet, you should also be thanking the person in the mirror! What would any website be, without the people who visit and participate? And like Roger said, I think it's way cool that Hot Rod did this brilliant cover with the Bandit Trans-Am and General Lee. I can't stop smiling every time I spot the magazine in the store. (some stores are selling out tho'!) Hot Rod could have talked about fuel injection performance, or gear ratios or any other subject, but they gave valuable magazine pages to Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey & The Bandit retrospectives. Awesome. They also did an epic job on that video, and if you haven't seen it, please visit our homepage and find the link to it. It's too much fun to pass up. Thanks ya'll !
  5. I can't wait to use these on the HazzardNet homepage in the near future. Excellent job Hoss!
  6. October's fan of the month will be announced soon. As you can see we did resume the fan of the month event and we've got a lot of good candidates to consider. Stay tuned!
  7. It took me days to recover from that one. Also took me awhile to find a suitable reply. I give you: ...getting paid for being laid.... nice work if you can get it.
  8. I don't know if anybody else has had better luck, but WW never replied to my inquiries this summer. I think too many people try to bug him all the time so if he doesn't already know you, he probably won't respond. Or he's just got a lot going on. That said you can try looking him up on Facebook. I do have an email address for him, but out of respect I'm unable to make it public. Thanks for understanding.
  9. The homepage has been updated about the November Hot Rod issue. One quick note I have to add here, is that when I tested the links to that issue on ebay, they said the auction ended. I asked Mufn to take a look at that. My apologies in the meantime. I'm seriously going to pick up another copy of this magazine tomorrow because everybody in my household was trying to run away with it tonight. I'll be amazed if it's still on the coffee table in the morning.
  10. Oh, and the General Lee is the better car of the two. Never any doubt.
  11. I just picked up my copy of the November issue of Hot Rod tonight. They seriously did a great job with this issue - it's just plain fun. And anytime you see the General Lee on the front cover of a national magazine, it has to make you smile. It interesting to note that they were polling their own readers on the whole GL vs. Bandit thing, and went on to poll about character comparisons. (such as Rosco vs. Buford T. Justice.) John Schneider also weighs in with his opinions. Frankly, there's enough here that we're going to do another home page article about the issue, and we might re-post that Bandit vs. GL video too. You'll enjoy having this issue for the photos alone. Also a great article in here about car webcams. More coming soon about all this on the homepage. Meanwhile, you'll want a copy of this mag for your Dukes collection! If you don't have a Dukes collection, this is an easy way to start. We're truly honored that Hot Rod magazine mentioned us in this issue. I had no idea until I picked up the magazine tonight. A big sal-ute and thank you to Hot Rod!
  12. You all had good guesses, this one was tough! Would you believe Sheriff Little appeared in 12 episodes? He was introduced in Season Three and and last appeared in Season Seven. Here are the eps, more or less in order: My Son, Bo Hogg Double Dukes Coltrane vs. Duke 10 Million Dollar Sheriff Miss Tri-Counties Share & Share Alike Cletus Falls in Love Shine on Hazzard Moon Treasure of Soggy Marsh Boars Nest Bears Dead and Alive Sittin' Dukes Over the years, the reruns on TNN and CMT may have cut or truncated some of the Sheriff Little scenes. I remember when I got the DVD sets, I saw Sheriff Little scenes I'd never seen before, or had forgotten about. (such as when he writes his young daughter a traffic ticket - and she was on her tricycle!) On an internal Dukes fandom note, I've often wondered why Don Pedro Colley, who played Sheriff Little, has not been to any DukesFests or other similar events in recent years. I've met Don Pedro a few times and he really enjoys meeting Dukes fans; I'm hoping he's well. Haven't heard anything about him for awhile. Anyhow - I pulled two stumpers there in a row, so I'm thinking I should give somebody else a chance to ask a trivia question. Anyone else want to go for it?
  13. Welcome back Roger. I agree with what MaryAnne said, and I'll also add that when you need a break, you need a break, and don't feel bad when you need to take one. It's good that you post a message though so we know you're ok.
  14. I've been lurking on this thread for awhile, gonna jump in with this one: This is one of those tunes where I had to let it get to the chorus before I started to dig it. Note, the video has some political overtones but overall it's a positive message. I just happen to like the song.
  15. Sounds like an interesting idea, good twist on a well-used plot device. I always enjoyed the inevitable amnesia episodes and evil-twin episodes. No matter how often it's used, it's fun to see known characters have their turn at alternate personalities.
  16. We really have some time capsules here! I don't know where this is all gonna end, but I've got one more: Lead vocals are by Mike Nesmith on this one.
  17. Awright, we're gonna cheese it up now. Sometimes the only way to get rid of an earworm is to replace the song in your head with something worse. To that end, I give you... Sweet Gypsy Rose - Tony Orlando & Dawn
  18. Uhhhh..... Considering it's one of the drinking anthems around here (and probably around the world) I couldn't say never. Sweeeet Caaar-o' line....ba ba ba! Good times nevah seemed so good (so good! so good! so good!) Now I gotta find another song to post before I can't get Sweet Caroline outta my head.
  19. Close! I actually stumped ya'll on this one. There were actually six episodes with Hughie Hogg: Arrest Jesse Duke Uncle Boss The Return of Hughie Hogg Hughie Hogg Strikes Again The Revenge of Hughie Hogg When You Wish Upon a Hogg The hard-to-remember one might have been "The Revenge of Hughie Hogg" which was an episode with Coy & Vance. Awright! Now that I'm on a hot streak (one in a row!!) I'm gonna try another question for ya: How many episodes did Sheriff "Big Ed" Little appear in?
  20. I knew somebody would pull that one out sooner or later! Fortunately it wasn't me. I'll reply with another one from a bygone era.... Sweet Hitch-hiker by Creedence Clearwater Revival
  21. I'm gonna give this one more night to see if anybody else chimes in...answer to be posted in several more hours! ( I gotta sleep sometime. LOL.)
  22. Brewers are darn close, though the Cubs slowed 'em down a bit. Which should make you feel a little better about the Cubs season.
  23. Some silly fun for ya. Videos of General Lee radio controlled cars.
  24. This auction is live for just under 2 days yet, so the link might have a short life. But anyway...even if I had the money, I can't imagine buying something like this just to stick it in an air-conditioned garage and admire it silently. I understand that people invest in cars like this nowadays, but I couldn't. Not at any money. I'd be taking this sucker on the interstate and getting the speeding ticket of a lifetime. If they caught me. Too Expensive to Drive
  25. Rock ON with yer bad selves! More good stuff there. I'm actually slowing it down with Billy Idol, with his moody, electronic "Sweet Sixteen."
