Very good! You could have that made into a nice tattoo.

My condolences, Daney. We never have a say in things like this...all we can do, is make the most of the time that we have with people.
-
In the meantime tho', we included some recognition for several of ya'll on our homepage. Everybody here in the Forums makes HazzardNet a great community for Dukes of Hazzard fans, and we thank you.

It's just a little creepy when I start quoting myself and replying, ain't it? Helps me keep track of things tho'. Hoss and Mark B., you both got a little fame on the homepage for finding those links, and for your other creative contributions. Thanks! In talking about the WB studio lots, I noticed that the upcoming Muppet Movie used it for a scene. You guys have sharp eyes, see if I'm right. It's around 2:02 in this .

Congrats to Jeff Gordon! I think NASCAR as a whole is ready for some good news.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Brian Coltrane replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Ya will? I didn't have an answer for this one! GAAAH!! The pressure... In fact, I kinda skimmed through the episode last night on DVD and couldn't find the scene where Daisy's driving the jeep and listening to music. Since this is one of my favorite eps, it's making me crazy that I can't remember this scene - or find it! So that leaves guessing. Um.... In the 1st ep of the series, Daisy was a fan of Dolly Parton. But in "Daisy's Song" they talk about Jessi Colter. (I think.) Loretta Lynn, howevah, was a guest star in a Dukes episode. As was Mel Tillis, and Waylon himself, aside from being the balladeer. Cripes. Roger don't mess around on his trivia. Yes, I'm stalling. Uh... I'm gonna say Jessi Coltrane. I mean, Jessi Colter.- 3,820 replies

Brian Coltrane replied to Mark B / Scooter Davenport's topic in Fan Art
Mark, this is epic. We all want one of these, ya know! -
Hop-a-long thorugh Hazzard! I got wore out just watching that guy.

Hoss, you are brilliant. I'm putting that WB link on the homepage and giving you credit for the discovery. Man, I wish we could rent that Midwest Street studio lot and host a big ol' Dukes of Hazzard party there.

Looks great! Thanks for showing it!

I haven't been able to find any confirmation of airings past the last week of November. Doesn't mean there won't be airings, but 2 weeks out is about as far out as any of the sites go. CMT has been airing this round of The Dukes of Hazzard for at least a year. Previously, there was a dry spell of what...2 years, 3, where nobody was airing Dukes, though ABC family channel held the syndication rights. Prior to the dry spell, CMT had aired the Dukes for years, and had even sponsored "DukesFest" a time or two. Here's what I know of the TV syndication system. These shows are sold in large batches. Dukes of Hazzard is one show in a pile that gets traded back and forth, with other programs like, "Married with Children" and so on. Sometimes a network will buy the airing rights to a pool of shows when it really wants just a couple of them. This is probably why the Dukes weren't on the air back when ABC had the broadcast rights; ABC bought the pool it was in, but apparently not for Dukes. Syndication is now more complicated than ever due to online streaming. Competiton between cable providers, channel networks, Hulu and Netflix is fierce. What's that mean for the future of The Dukes of Hazzard on TV? We don't know, frankly. I suspect that CMT and other broadcast/streaming venues are working out their 2012-2013 contracts as we speak. The hope I have for CMT/Dukes continuing together, rests with the fact that CMT uses John Schneider in "Trick My What?" and seems aware of the strong fan base that The Dukes of Hazzard has commanded for 30 years. That doesn't mean they won't give up Dukes for awhile of it becomes financially unfeasible to renew it with the syndication pool it's in. After all, they're getting into producing their own shows, and relying less on syndicated content. Long winded way of saying, YES, by all means, buy the Dukes of Hazzard DVD's because then the show is yours forever. Maybe Dukes of Hazzard will be available for viewing via online streaming eventually, but even those contracts don't run forever. I've seen shows go in and out of Hulu on 1 and 2 year cycles.

I just wanna address that second part about Bo sneaking around the barn with something. With his body language, it's easy to guess it might be a shovel or pitchfork. But it's actually his compound bow, which he's holding in a ready-to-draw position. The scene is from "Mary Kaye's Baby", and occurs when the Bad Guys are at the Duke farm, looking for their missing money.

Here, I happend to have a clip ready of that smoochy scene with Bo that appears in the 1st season credits. I just uploaded it, for anybody curious. This scene was often cut during TNN and CMT airings.

I got a little behind this month, and didn't get the Fan of the Month for November announced timely. Rather than announce it late and shorten somebody's month of honor, we will pick it up fresh in December. Thanks for your patience, ya'll!

Just adding this for anyone who's reading this and isn't aware: CMT is airing The Dukes of Hazzard, at 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Eastern. Check yer local cable listings. We also post about it on our home page once in awhile. I know what ya mean, Sissy Duke. As long as the Dukes are on the air someplace, things are okay.

Howdy! Here's my educated guess: The kissing scene was from the first episode, One Armed Bandits. The girl in question was Bo's girlfriend for that show, but she never appeared in the series again. It's my guess that the producers cut that scene from the opening credits, so that they didn't have to pay any further residuals to that actress. I know there was always a switcheroo on the credit scenes whenever the striking actor du jour walked off the set. (Jimmie, Ben, Tom and John, Flash... ok, Flash wasn't in the credits, but you get the idea.)

It honestly looks like an interesting movie, so I hope we'll see it released soon. A private investor sunk 2 million into the production, so I can't see it just sitting on the shelf someplace. At the least they could do a direct-to-DVD release if theatrical distribution isn't feasible. As always, we'll keep ya posted.

Hazzardnet t-shirts are here!
Brian Coltrane replied to MaryAnne's topic in HazzardNet Announcements
Bahaha! No, I can't model in white, it just doesn't look good on me. Though I did buy a white t-shirt anyway and also one of the navy blue ones. The blue is dark enough blue that it's almost black, and looks pretty cool with the modern HNet logo. I have hope that someday when HNet is fantastically successful, we might be able to give away shirts once in awhile as a part of Fan of the Month recognition of something. We ain't quite into those economics of scale yet, but it's a pleasant thought. Meantime, I'd like to get some HNet mugs in the Zazzle shop. I need a new coffee mug in the worst way. I tend to knock them off my overloaded desk here and break them. It's very Coltrane of me, but I'm running outta mugs. -
Hazzard homecoming 2012
Brian Coltrane replied to Brian Coltrane's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
Update on my own speculation re: Tom, above. Variety has just reported today that Tom Wopat has landed a role in Quentin Tarantino's 2012 southern-western, Django Unchained. The movie is in pre-production status. No telling what phase filming will be in by the time Hazzard Homecoming rolls around. Doesn't mean Tom wouldn't be able to make Homecoming work, if he wanted to, but this does cast a shadow of doubt on my earlier, and optimistic, speculation. We'll have to see how things unfold. *Update* The HazzardNet homepage has been updated with more details about this movie. -
Howdy there, welcome to HazzardNet! In this episode, the other counties involved were Hatchapee and Riverton. Here's a clip of Daisy's last-minute entry to the .The basis for what makes them the tri-counties is unknown. If it was supposed to be geographic proximity, that's confusing, because in the same episode, Boss remarks that the nearest DMV office is in Chickasaw County. Hatchapee County is referenced in another Dukes ep, "Farewell Hazzard." Riverton, I can't recall hearing about before or after this ep.

And I'll reply to your Creedence with....Creed! One - Creed

That goes back to how Edmund's Inside Line put this together. What's the criteria for a car being "iconic?" A single movie? Sure, if the movie is like a cult classic or timelessly remembered for something, but then that would rule out "Better Off Dead." It's a fun flick, but iconic? No. That's where I'd put the Metallicar, which has a large fan base, over a single-movie machine that most people haven't heard of. Maybe they should have broken this down by "movies" vs. "tv" cars. The General Lee would have still won. There's a ton of car movies that weren't even touched in this list. Take " " for example. The movie is pretty much one long game of tag between a 50's Caddy and an 80's Saab. Edge of your seat action. In every sense it's a car movie/thriller, and the chase scenes take place at night, in the winter. It's not what I'd call a "deep" movie but I couldn't tear myself away from it to refill my popcorn. Maybe you should do a MeadowMufn 100 list, and we'll compare it Hoss's new one.

By golly, you should be signed up for our newsletter, 'cause we just talked about this. Here's the latest. *inhales a deep breath* Doonby was originally slated for release this past September. It has been delayed without official explanation. However, our shameless seedy sources say that there were disputes with movie extras who are suing for wages they weren't paid. This could have a bearing on the delay. Meanwhile, Doonby is being shown to "select groups", mostly church organizations. The latest is that Doonby will be released "sometime in early 2012." No exact date has been supplied thus far. John also has another movie project in the works. Let me check...argh, I can't find my reference, something about filiming in Canada but since I can't back it up right this second, nevahmind. But I believe his own website makes reference to another movie project. I had a few additional sketchy details but there's only so far I'll stick out my neck. As more info becomes verifiable we'll share it.
