  1. The "Hit Car" was a...one hit wonder, pardon the expression. Appeared in a single episode of Greatest American Hero. (as far as I know.) Supernatural fans have more reason for offense given that the show is in it's what..6th season? I don't even know but it's been on awhile, and the Impala has been a focal point in many episodes. (internal note: the Impala graphic in my posts isn't a nod to Supernatural, as much as it is to my own use of a 67 Impala, which was active long before Supernatural was on the air, so sometimes I wonder, but...anyway.)
  2. Well, grind mah gears! All of 'em at a glance, and much better pics than Edmunds. Hoss, you never cease to amaze us with the stuff you put together. Great job! Ya know what? You should rearrange this list, and make it Hoss's 100. I'd redo the list, but I'm too lazy. If I did though, I'd add a car or two from the campy 80's movie "The Wraith." And, I'd add the Metallicar from the CW series, "Supernatural."
  3. I got a few posts behind here! Wow, look what I've been missing. Muse! New Order! And the Primitives, I haven't heard that one in awhile. There's very little I don't like when it comes to music, so if I didn't name somebody's specifically, don't worry, I still liked it. As usual I'm cruising the forums at 2 a.m. so I need to stay kinda mellow. Anybody remember this one? Ice House - Crazy
  4. That's a slap on the wrist. It's enough to tick him off, but I doubt it will change his temper or his recklessness. I wouldn't let Kyle Busch mow my lawn, let alone drive a car.
  5. I'm thinking they could have chosen a couple more great cars and omitted the cartoon entries. I'm also wishing they would have done a nicer job on some of the photos. Still, I can't quibble with their top pick. Tho' I wonder how they came up with the order of popularity or notoriety of the cars.
  6. You got your wish! I'm surprised they announced it already, but I'm glad they did. People ask about it all the time. And since it takes pulling together quite a few elements, the event is never exactly the same thing twice. And now, for Wild Speculation. This is strictly my own personal creation from the rumor mill. But I'm putting 2 to 1 odds that Tom Wopat might show up at this year's Hazzard Homecoming. Let me explain my reasoning. Tom's last Broadway engagement, "Catch Me If You Can", ended in September. He's doing a lot of touring at the present time, mostly musical performances. But he is signed on for one car show in February 2012. He also has a concert coming up with John in April 2012. So unless Tom obtains a new Broadway gig between now and next August, I'm willing to bet he joins Hazzard Homecoming. Contrary to what some beleive, Tom doesn't dislike Dukes of Hazzard, he just puts his musical career first, because that's where he makes his living. Remember, before Tom joined the cast of The Dukes of Hazzard, he was already performing in theater productions in New York. Tom's always been a singer. Anyhow! Years ago, this same kind of pattern emerged; Tom had some free time between Broadway gigs, and appeared at DukesFest. So I figure there's a fair chance of history repeating itself for the 2012 Hazzard Homecoming. Remember, I'm just speculating aloud here. I ain't promising anything; I have no crystal ball. Just got my fingers crossed.
  7. I posted this under John's section but wanted to cover it here too. Tom and John are in concert together on April 12 & 13 at the Fallsview Casino in Ontario, Canada. The casino website does not yet have tickets on sale. Tom's website, however, confirms the concert. Here's the link to all of Tom's upcoming appearances, as found on his website. I've got the direct link to the casino box office under John's post. I coulda reposted it here, but I like to mix things up. You can get to it from this other link anyway.
  8. Just a quick update. Here is the link to the show. Tom's on the bill, but there are no specifics on the day(s) he will be there. Tom's own website does not yet show this event, but they'll probably get around to it soon. http://www.cantonhotrodshow.com/carshow.nxg TimDuke, I hope they have your General there. I'll probably miss this gig as I'm usually buried under a half-ton of snow that time of year.
  9. As of the date of this post, tickets are not yet on sale. BUT! I want to give y'all the link while I have it handy. John Schneider and Tom Wopat will be in concert together in Niagra Falls, Ontario Canada, on April 12 and 13, 2012. You will want to check this link often and grab tickets once they are available. This venue sold out completely the last time these two good ol' boys were there. Fallsview Casino Resort entertainment and tickets
  10. Ben's already announced he's gonna do it again. Yes, Virginia, there IS a 2012 Hazzard Homecoming, August 11 & 12. Same location as last year in Sperryville VA. This will be the biggest annual Dukes of Hazzard fan gathering of the year. (formerly known as "DukesFest".) This is the fastest we've seen him announce the next year's event, so he must have somethin' cookin'! No other details are yet public. As soon as they are, we'll post more. Any of ya'll coming from a distance might wanna read through our 2011 forum threads about Hazzard Homecoming, in reference to hotels and such. Sperryville is a scenic area, but the town itself is tiny. You'll have to stay at another town for a hotel unless you opt to camp near the event. Ben usually has a hotel booking code that gets you a convention rate. But if you book via Expedia this far out, you might do just as well on cost. Glad to see Ben's throwing another shindig. Hopefully we'll see a lot of the Dukes of Hazzard cast there!
  11. Here's a video of the incident and Kyle Busch's hollow apology... http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/kyle-busch-issues-apology-ron-hornaday-jr-intentional-wreck-camping-world-truck-series-race-after-nascar-parks-him-110511/ I think NASCAR should ban Kyle from the track. For good. Had someone pulled this stunt on the freeway, they'd be in jail.
  12. I can't believe I'm typing "Glee" in the HazzardNet Forums, but... YES! It's true! John has landed a role on Glee. Here's the tidbit Mufn found on the net: "John Schneider has landed the role of Sam's father and will first appear in this season's eighth episode, which marks Chord Overstreet's return to Glee. Glee airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. eastern on Fox." I don't know what this means, exactly, but there ya go!
  13. Thanks Hoss! I'm gonna have more fun with that cutlery sign, it's gonna go right above the dishwashin' machine in the kitchen. Very appropriate for my house, it's like a freakin' scavenger hunt here for a clean fork.
  14. Hope everybody had a good one! Hoss I enjoyed the links, that trick r' treating one is a hoot. CDoherty95, howdy yourself! Hope you're having a great trip. You get around, don't ya! Mufn, just wait 'till I dig out my Thanksgiving cartoon again, if you want to see classy. Hey, at least I don't post this stuff on the homepage.
  15. Howdy Sean - I'd say there's a decent possibility there will be some kind of Hazzard Homecoming for 2012, but nothing is in planning stages yet. Ben Jones usually starts kicking things around in January. EDIT on 11/07/11: Sure, I said that, and then Hazzard Homecoming was announced for 2012. Aug 11 &12. See the DukesFest/HazzardHomecoming 2012 thread for details as they become available. I know John mentioned having another movie project going on in 2012 so I'm not sure if he'll be making personal appearances for any Dukes event. His website indicated he'd be cutting down on making appearances. But since he gets such great support from the Dukes fan base, we can hope he'll make an exception. In the meantime, you might want to try catching John and Tom at their casino shindig, Fallsview Casino Resort, April 12, 2012, Ontario, Canada. Tickets are NOT yet on sale. Last time they booked this venue the show sold out. As soon as tickets are on sale we'll post the link on our homepage. Until then, if you're thinking of going, better get your passport application started. You'll need one to cross the border. You can apply for it at the U.S. post office. As soon as we hear of further developments, we'll post some noise on our homepage and forums, so stay tuned!
  16. Ol' Cletus Hogg himself, Rick Hurst, will be at Cooter's Place in Gatlinburg TN, from December 26 through Jan 2nd. You can wrap up 2011 or ring in 2012 with one of Hazzard County's finest Deputy dipsticks.
  17. Happy Halloween to everybody at HazzardNet!
  18. For the record, I've made an attempt to stay on topic! That said... *hurls one under-baked lemon meringue pie at Mufn* Which brings us back to business as usual around here.
  19. We ran a long time before hitting duplicates. Figured I'd trip up eventually, oh well. Bridge songs are harder to come by. Fortunately I know one: Bridge - Queensryche
  20. Well, MaryAnne, I'm surprised you ain't posted this one yet: This tune was also covered by Elivs. Hoss! I didn't forget about you either. I share your pain with the disappearing independent music stores. There's a few stores in my neck of the woods that are independent, carry everything and anything, and also have a great selection of vinyl albums. New releases, re-releases, ect. One of these great stores, "The Exclusive Company" survived by diversfying and being as unusual as possible. Where else can you find new music by great undiscovered bands like "Deer Tick" ? Heh. Unfortunately I don't think they'll ship albums overseas, and if they did it'd cost a fortune. Their web store only shows CD and downloads. (HNet has no affilate relationship with The Exclusive Co, and this is just more sidebar rambling by yours truly.)
  21. I've seen Charlie Daniels in concert a couple times, years ago. Great energy. Hard to believe he's 75. Where were we....oh, Dukes of Hazzard fantasies. Which turned into a pie fight between me and Mufn. Since I've got no ammo at the moment ( I just had a big midnight snack and I'm feeling lazy) I'll make some effort to relate to the actual topic. Hmm... Another way to enjoy a Dukes fantasy without it being an entire fantasy is to go to DukesFest or whatever they call it in the future. This last year was Hazzard Homecoming. Mind you, it's always too crowded and under-organized, I'll admit that plain. That said, when you get to hang around thousands of people who love Dukes as much as you do...that's cool. Whether or not you get this or that autograph, is a total aside. Some of my best memories of DukesFest are about hanging out with friends. A trip to Cooter's Place in Nashville is also fun. He's got a pretty good Dukes collectibles museum there. But largely it's a store with stuff for sale, just so you have your expectations in line. The store in Gatlinburg has go-carts and mini-golf if you're looking for more to do. Ya know, I guess I'm an advocate for making the most reality out of your Dukes fantasy as possible. If all else fails...at least get a Dixie horn for your car! You won't be sorry.
  22. Holy cow, I had a lot to catch up on tonight! Another great eclectic mix we got goin'. I'm gonna throw in another Elton tune: ( and on past remarks - I agree, MaryAnne's got looks too, and you might as well give her credit for some brawn. Or at least a mean streak. Heh heh!)
  23. I know how Hoss likes snappy outfits, so here's:
  24. Yep, I've got the brawn and looks. As far as making lots of money...well, we're workin' on that. MaryAnne keeps us honest, though, and that slows things down. And now, back to the music! I dug that Chicago song. I'd never heard it before. All I've got handy to give back, though, is more new-wave techno kinda stuff at the moment. This is one of the tunes I play in the background when I'm writing angsty fiction.
