The Coke Zero 400 set the field for the playoffs. While Jimmie Johnson was making moves like an Earnhardt and looked like he might make it into the playoffs in his final season if not for a crash caused by Tyler Reddick blocking. Jimmie Johnson did what he needed to do finishing stage 1 & 2 ahead of his playoff spot competition and gaining much needed points but in the end it wasn't meant to be. Matt Dibenedetto clinched the final playoff spot finishing the race in 12th. William Byron clinched a spot in the playoffs by winning the race which quickly turned into a demolition derby in the final laps especially the final lap with only about half the field able to cross the finish line. Chase Elliot finished 2nd, Denny Hamlin 3rd, Martin Truex jr 4th and Bubba Wallace 5th. Brendan Gaughan in what might be his final Daytona race finished 8th even though he was involved in one of the late race wrecks but his car wasn't damaged as much as others. First race of the playoffs will be the Darlington Southern 500 which will be on NBCSN this Sunday at 6pm eastern.

Ya got that right Roger. I'd say 80-90% of what's on the internet isn't worth looking at. I woke up and seen there was a few notifications from my ring doorbell, went to see the videos from overnight and found out my internet was out as well as the ring cloud server internet. Our internet didn't come back on till after 10am. Even though I couldn't get on the internet thru my wifi somehow I was still able to stream thru the airyTV app that was the only tv streaming app that worked, I don't know how or why but glad I was able to watch a few episodes of Andy Griffith before breakfast. Also found a few odd Dukes of Hazzard gems at the local Antique mall, took some pics of them and will post the pictures later when I get a chance to upload them. WB milked DoH as much as they could back in it's heyday.

Don't know what is going on this morning but glad Hazzardnet isn't affected. Major internet outage going on apparently global wide but only seems to be affecting certain websites or areas.

And with the wreck with 2 laps to go Jimmie Johnson is officially out of the playoffs in his final season.

I hope this rumor isn't true but it appears Toyota is trying to court the King. I just can't see the fabled #43 on a Toyota . https://www.jayski.com/2020/08/26/bubba-wallace-richard-petty-motorsports-denny-hamlin-michael-jordan-toyota/

That last crash in the Indy 500 was scary but shows how safe the new cars are. Race control also made the right call by letting the race end under caution instead of red flagging it for a 2 lap sprint that most likely would have more wrecks. Now onto the Dover doubleheader... The first Dover cup race seen Joe Gibbs racing dominate and finish 1 2 3 with Denny Hamlin winning, Martin Truex jr finishing 2nd and Kyle Busch 3rd. Kevin Harvick finished 4th and Chase Elliot finished 5th. Jimmie Johnson finished 7th. The second Dover race seen Kevin Harvick dominate winning both stages and the race which moved him up the all time wins list to tie Kyle Busch with 56 wins, it was also Ford's 700th cup series victory. Martin Truex jr once again finished 2nd, Jimmie Johnson put on a clinic to finish 3rd, William Byron 4th and Alex Bowman finished 5th. To make the playoffs Jimmie Johnson must have a good finish in Saturday night's Daytona race and subsequently needs either his teammate William Byron or Matt Dibenedetto to have a bad race finish. Michael Waltrip is now in the brewery business with his Two Time line of beer https://www.jayski.com/2020/08/25/michael-waltrip-launches-two-time-beer-brand/ The Daytona race will air on NBC Saturday night at 7:30pm eastern.

Sounds like either the hardware in the tablet was/is nearing the end of its use or you got a virus on the tablet. I wouldn't delete your Facebook account over that.

Think I seen a shooting star/meteorite this morning while watching the wife leave for work. Seen a bright flash way up in the sky, thought it was a light from a plane coming or going from the nearby airport at first but there wasn't any more light flashes after that. Past few weeks I scored 2 old Tyco train sets from garage and estate sales, paid $5 each for them. Will have to see if I can fix the engine in the one set as it was taken apart but if I can't at least I doubled the amount of track I have. I still have the tyco train set I got as a kid too.

That was a shock when I loaded up the airy app on my Roku device yesterday when I got home and seen the Dukes of Hazzard channel. It's on 24/7 so you can catch an episode any time of the day

Good news good news, the Dukes of Hazzard is now streaming free on Airy tv app. it's available for free for Google and Apple phone's and tablets, Roku streaming devices and probably other streaming devices. You can also watch it here https://live.airy.tv/

No, the PS1 game disc will not work in the PS4 and there are no Dukes of Hazzard games on the PlayStation Network. Your best bet Roger would be to find a good used PS1 and find a ps1 copy of the games on ebay, at the moment prices range from a few dollars for used discs to $33 for new never opened. There was also a ps2 DoH game however it does not have the original cast doing voice overs. If you have an old windows xp computer that still works good you could get a PC copy of the PS1 games. Retro gaming is becoming a big thing so a lot of places such as used video and record/CD stores are carrying old gaming consoles for sale so check those stores out in your area.

I think some of the places Duel was filmed at were used in Dukes of Hazzard as well, other than that I don't know. Duel is a helluva good movie though. Love the look of the Peterbilt they used.- 3,820 replies

Hazzard Square was also Mayberry's town square. Denver Pyle played Briscoe Darling jr in Andy Griffith. James Best played Jim Lindsey aka the guitar player. That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure some of the older guest stars in DoH also did guest appearances on Andy Griffith show like Pat O'Malley from the Return of the Ridge Raiders(DoH) was in Up in Barney's Room(AGS), he was also in The Ghost and Mr Chicken.- 3,820 replies

Heard on the local news this morning that the jingle the ice cream trucks have played for decades will be gone soon, someone apparently got offended by it . On a good note I seen a few Dukes seasons for sale at the nearby Walmart. They're slim plastic cases now instead of the thick cardboard ones so they should take up a lot less space on the shelf. They had a whole 1980's tv section there with DoH, A-team, Knight Rider, Miami Vice, Magnum PI, Quantam Leap etc...

One of mine too, especially right now in this crazy time. Will be visiting some relatives out in the country for a labor day bbq, I'm looking forward to just sitting out there and enjoying the peace and quiet all day. One of my other favorite scene's is the end of the Christmas tree's episode where everybody is at the farm. Reminds me of the family holiday get together's at my grandparents house before they passed away. Everybody put their differences aside and had a good time. That's why it's one of my favorite episode's to pop in the DVD player in December.

A bit late but welcome aboard . -
Yeah he said in a recent interview that this might be his last best chance to win the Indy 500 since he would be returning to F1 next year. Kind of sad as I was looking forward to seeing him race in Indycar next season. Was hoping he would take a shot at the Daytona 500 too.

Chase Elliot won the inaugural Go Bowling 235 at Daytona's famous road course https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/08/16/chase-elliott-wins-daytona-road-course-race-denny-hamlin-martin-truex-jr/. He led 34 of 65 laps and at one point had over a 10 second lead over 2nd place Denny Hamlin before a late caution restacked the field. Martin Truex jr finished 3rd, Jimmie Johnson finished 4th and Chris Buescher finished 5th. Kaz Grala who was subbing for Austin Dillon after he tested positive for covid19 finished 7th. JJ Yeley had to retire early due to heat exhaustion so Bayley Currey finished the race in the #27. Kyle Busch finished 37th when mechanical issues caused him to wreck with 5 laps to go. This was his sixth 29th place or worse finish of the season which drops him to 10th place in points. Next weekend is a Dover double header Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Both will be on NBCSN. On a related note...Marco Andretti became the first Andretti to win the Indy 500 pole since grandfather Mario Andretti started on the pole for the 1987 Indy 500 https://motorsports.nbcsports.com/2020/08/16/indy-500-pole-position-marco-andretti-mario-indycar/. I wonder if the Andretti Indy curse will finally be vanquished next Sunday.

I didn't even realize I did that when I posted hahaha. Surprised my phone's auto-correct didn't catch it . If you haven't upgraded your router in the last 5 years let me tell you it's worth getting a new one. Our old one, made in 2012 according to the sticker on the bottom, was having issues keeping up with all the tech connecting to the wifi so we got a new one from our ISP. What a difference, browsing the internet is faster, streaming doesn't intermittently pause to buffer and now I can watch hd Nascar race streams instead of having to watch 480p ones. Watching the last hour of the truck race stream yesterday in hd without any buffering pauses was great.

I've had it with people telling us 'you guys got to move out of there' but are not willing to help us. Since it's been so long since they last rented they don't understand that some places want 2 months rent, or a few hundred dollars for a security deposit or a rental application. Then there's money for renting a moving truck. And we're trying to save money so we can put a larger down payment on a house so we can get better mortgage loan. If we move now we'd probably blow through everything we've saved so far. Of course we'll see if we still have a place to live this week, the wife contacted upper management about the issue here so we'll see if our lease renewal will be accepted or if we'll get booted out and they keep the troublemaker who doesn't even ''live'' here. I did hit an amazing hole in one at minigolf this morning. Found a regular golf ball off to the side of the 13th hole so I put it on the putting square and hit it, it bounced off the rock hazzard then the putting green wall and then bounced into the hole. I wish the wife would have recorded that because I'll probably never do that again lol.

Moto Guzzi's are the easiest motorcycles to spot because of the way the V twin engine is positioned Transversely with the cylinders showing on the left and right side of the bikes from the front and rear view.
-
The motorcycle in Miz Tisdale on the Lam is a Moto Guzzi, not 100% sure which model though. That's my 3rd favorite motorcycle brand behind Indian and Harley Davidson.
