Well done, Skipper. You've certainly made your mark on HNet in a short space of time.

Luckily, they've abandoned the gimmicks in F1. There's now an extra point for the fastest lap (so long as the driver finishes in the top 10), but that's about it. Unfortunately, this truncated season has been a bit one-sided - Mercedes collected their 7th consecutive Constructor's trophy yesterday, and Lewis Hamilton is about 99% certain of winning the Driver's trophy, but that's partly because Ferrari have had to make undisclosed changes to their car which left it off the pace. There was a little trial and error before they settled on the current qualifying format, but at least they dropped the one-season-only double points for the last race a few years ago.

Anna Louise was played by Stepfanie Kramer. This episode originally aired about six months before she made her debut in probably her best-known role as Dee Dee McCall in 'Hunter'.

Belated Happy Halloween, MonacoMan. Painting "01" on a pumpkin is such a simple idea, but I'm not sure if I've seen it before. With the country where I live in the middle of its second lockdown, Halloween was really a non-event this year (it's not as big as in US in the first place). I did see a few kids dressed up in Halloween costumes while I was in town yesterday, and several houses where I live have decorations up, but that was about it. I bet there'll be a lot of unsold merchandise in the stores that are closed.

And don't forget that Terry Labonte played a member of the pit crew (his part was uncredited). Mary Beth's car was painted to look like Terry's 1983 racecar.

Roger, if your wife watched 'Play it Again, Luke' with you, she may have recognized Candy Dix. Roberta Leighton apparently played Shirley Pickett in 12 episodes of General Hospital a year before she appeared in Dukes.

I didn't miss the opportunity yesterday, and got this double rainbow. BTW. Don't forget that rainbows here in Ireland have a leprechaun's pot of gold at the end .

That's great news, Spike, although I understand how it'll take a little time for the dust to settle. A friend of mine has a problem neighbor at moment. I'll have to check in and see how his meeting with the other residents went at the weekend.

The leaves here were beautiful about a week ago, but I didn't get any photos. I also missed a chance to photograph a rainbow this afternoon because I was driving. We had a bank holiday here today, so I went for a walk down by the river - something I started when we first went into lockdown earlier in the year. I was doing it at least once each weekend, but I've missed the last two, once due to being busy and once due to being lazy! As the country started to reopen, the number of fellow walkers started to drop off, but there were plenty out today now that we're in lockdown again.

I've been watching a few YouTube videos recently which show people restoring/customizing Matchbox diecast vehicles. I came across one today where the YouTuber was making a Smokey and the Bandit/Back to the Future crossover called 'Time Bandit'. In the video, he also shows an earlier time machine crossover which he referred to as 'Back to Hazzard' - you can probably guess what vehicle he based it on:

Nancy Hinman, who played Vonnie, had a sparse acting career. Dukes was her second acting credit, but her first was five years earlier as a nurse in CHiPs, which is why she looked familiar to me. Her later credits were three episodes of Knots Landing in 1986, a 1987 movie called Carly's Web (which also featured Gary Grubbs (Luke's Love Story and Vance's Lady) and Ramon Bieri (Undercover Dukes)), and two episodes of St. Elsewhere.

Northampton is about 100 miles inland. The Titanic sailed from Southampton on the south coast of England, and called at Cherbourg in northern France and Queenstown (now called Cobh) in Ireland before starting across the Atlantic.

Another quick F1 hijack: After equalling Michael Schumacher's win record at the last race, it was inevitable that it wouldn't take too long for Lewis Hamilton to become the driver with the most wins in F1 history. Today he started on pole, and despite briefly slipping back to third near the start, he regained the lead and never looked back. He won his 92nd Grand Prix in some style with a margin of over 25 seconds to his team mate in second. Only four cars finished on the lead lap, and Lewis also got the extra point for fastest lap. It now looks like he's on his way to equalling Michael Schumacher's record of seven World Championships at the end of the season.

I've just noticed that on the "Forums" tab, the "Images" sidebar is showing blue rectangles with a film strip icon instead of images. When I go to the "Gallery" section, many of the images are missing.

Skipper Duke's Reunion Movie Reviews
HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
I'd say that they're more like synopses than reviews, but you capture the main points of the plots. A couple of bits of trivia wouldn't go amiss, and a few paragraph breaks would make them easier to read. Always consider your reader when you're writing! I've corrected the prize money in your Reunion! review as requested. -
Skipper Duke's Reunion Movie Reviews
HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
If you're referring to Enos' colleague Tami Sparrow in Hazzard in Hollywood, she was a different character played by Susan Yeagley. She just had a similar name. -
Skipper Duke's Reunion Movie Reviews

Jennifer Lyons, who played Tammy, the blonde who arrives with Bo in the Reunion! movie, was Jimmie Best's niece. She also starred in the 2012 movie 'Return of the Killer Shrews', which was co-written by Jimmie and also starred John Schneider and Rick Hurst. -
The "After Dukes" Hall of Fame
HossC replied to RogerDuke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
If we're including Ben, then we should probably include John Schneider for the Dukes related events that he still puts on. -
I love the detail that they used hastily purchased mailbox letters to brand them. Martin Archery get mentioned in the end credits throughout the first season. Their credit was "Archery Equipment and Program Consideration Furnished by: Martin Archery". Incidentally, in the "Special Promotional Material by:" section of the end credits of 'Moonrunners', it's the Wing Archery Company that gets mentioned.

I don't know if it's my imagination (or my age!), but the text in the navigation bars under the banner looks smaller since the update. The current size appears to be 13px - would it be possible to try 15px or 16px without screwing up something else?

Then I'll be a monkey's uncle .

Waylon says almost exactly the same thing about Cletus in 'The Great Bank Robbery'! Speaking of Nancy Lou, a year before this, Kim Richards appeared in a final season episode of 'CHiPs'. Her younger sister, Kyle, was in the following episode. Something new I've just discovered is that they are aunts of Paris Hilton.

We've had a week on level 3 lockdown with parts of the country on level4, but now we're going to level 5 across the whole country for six weeks. My work won't be affected as it's part of the construction sector, but all non-essential shops will be closing again (just when things were just starting to feel slightly more normal!). Schools are to remain open, but next week is their mid-term break. Restaurants and cafes will be open for take-away only. People who aren't going work are asked to stay at home unless they're exercising, and even when exercising we're confined to 5km (3.1 miles) from home (with fines coming in next week). Socialising is also pretty much banned with no visiting allowed to other households (even in the garden). The only exception being to meet one other household in a public place such as a park. Weddings and funerals can still go ahead with a maximum of 25 attendees (up from six and ten respectively in the original March lockdown). So long as people don't panic buy this time around, I should be OK. I'll miss shopping for non-food items and going more than 5km from home, but otherwise I'll manage. Spike - masks have been mandatory in shops and other public spaces for a couple of months, but we've gone from low double-digit daily new case numbers a few weeks ago to over 1,000 for the past week or so. We also had a period of about two weeks with only one or two deaths, but now we're getting over ten a day some days.

books Billie Rae Bates book Them Dukes Them Dukes
HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in General Discussion
I can't see any evidence that he was a member here, but several old posts mention his name. Some talk positively about his book or his knowledge of Dukes, while a couple of others suggest that he has/had plans for the General's pushbar for sale.
