  1. You're right Roger, and I can only plead laziness. I had 'Jim' in my notes, but went to IMDb to double-check the spelling of 'Downey' and did a cut and paste of the name from the episode summary to save typing it - turns out they had 'John' (although it correctly identifies him as 'Jim' in the cast list) and I didn't pick up on it. Sorry for any confusion.
  2. Insomnia, or just up early?.

  3. corn
  4. No tricks Roger, Lizzy's got the right answer. You can see both of them in the Hazzard Square thread. I'm hoping to start adding pictures from season 2 later this week. Q. In 'Granny Annie', which county is "Big" John Downey from?.

    One Word Song Titles

This is the original 2006 version by the band from Liverpool. Music producer Mark Ronson had a bigger hit with (from the album 'Version') featuring vocals by Amy Winehouse in 2007. Neither version seems to have charted in the US, and the song didn't enter the US charts until 2010 when it was covered by the cast of 'Glee' - I'm sure that version is on YouTube if that's what you're into. What a disappointment Garrett. There I was looking forward to listening to NKOTB and you mix the link up with Restless Heart from 'Musical Chairs'. The NKOTB song can be found .

  10. Hi Hobie, if I remember correctly, you cannot add an avatar until you complete your 'probation' period, which I think ends when you reach 10 posts (so you're over half way ). There are certain restrictions on the size of picture you can use (excuse technical bit): the picture should be no bigger than 150 x 150 pixels and have a file size under 19.5kb. To put this in context, most users have an avatar about 100 x 125 pixels, so that's about the size to look for. Do you have a picture already?. If you have trouble resizing your picture, or want further instructions, feel free to send me a PM (click my name at the top of this post and then click 'Send a private message to HossC', it's easy enough from there). The character from 'Goodbye General Lee' was Hobie Hartkins, but in his condition it could have been anything . Besides, to borrow a line from Monty Python's 'Life of Brian', "You are all individuals" (I never did work out why they made a movie about the life of one of HNet's moderators ).
  11. Roll Away The Stone - Mott The Hoople Some '70s glam rock. bolukeduke may be interested to know that Mott the Hoople were supported on their 1974 US tour by an up-and-coming band called Queen.
  12. These are very impressive. The two-tone Veyron works well in plush. What do you fill them with, because they seem to hold their shape well?.
  13. machine (Scooby Dooby Doo!)
  14. I think everyone was guessing this one (I would have done too ). I'll cut the number of options down next time, I just got carried away. The answer was 'Shell' as shown in the screengrab (next question below): Q. In 'Deputy Dukes' the boys travel to Springville to collect Rocky Marlowe, but how many hardware stores does Springville have (hint: I've posted the answer in another thread in the last week)?.
  15. Welcome to HazzardNet LD. I'm curious about your Dukes project, and look forward to seeing it in the near future. If you need any advice on posting etc. feel free to send me a PM.
  16. It's about time I read another Discworld novel. One of the contestants on last night's TV quiz Mastermind had the Discworld novels as their specialist subject. I'm assuming you're in the US, and wondered whether you ever got to see Hugh 'House' Laurie play the part of Bertie Wooster alongside his old comedy partner Stephen Fry as Jeeves.
  17. Everything's back to normal for 'Route 7-11'. Sorry about the blurry nature of the first shot, it's the best I could get. Jesse and Daisy (Yancy Peckinpaugh and Betty-Lou) are walking past building #12. It's hard to read the signage, but I think it says 'Dry Goods'. We also get our first look at some other buildings around the square. Building #15 makes it's debut as 'Hotel Metropole'. This end of the square has been re-developed since Dukes, and the original building #16 has now been replaced by a taller, longer structure that virtually closes off this corner of the square. Here's Rosco spying from the old building (it appears in the background in many other episodes, but I'm not sure if it's used again). Most of the scenes with the semi truck at the square were filmed behind building 16. The area is still a car park, but has changed somewhat over the years. This picture is looking back at the square and shows the loading bay at the back of the church that I labelled #17 on the map. I'll return to this in the future. On the right of this picture is another look at building #15 from a different angle. The building to the left of the church is #19, but I don't think the one between that and the truck ever gets used (hence I didn't number it, although it's still there today).
  18. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  19. mezcal (nearly put tequila, and realised I'd got the wrong drink just in time ) How dare you call me bird food, Roger ... oh no, wait, I see what you did there .
  20. Roger, it was Tom Pryor (had to look it up ), played by R.G. Armstrong.
  21. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  22. In 'Deputy Dukes' Hazzard Square got its first acting role, playing the part of Springville. Several of the stores were redressed and the roads were covered in mud (I wouldn't have fancied cleaning up afterwards). First is building #3, usually the bank in Hazzard, but in Springville it's the Springville Hotel (the pickup truck is the same one used by Swamp Molly). Building #4 has been changed to a hardware store. When the car chase approaches from the other direction it looks like the name is 'L & S Hardware' (see inset at top), but the name only appears briefly. Building #5 is still 'Rick's Pool Room' and building #6 is not seen. Working along the row, buildings 7, 8 and 9 (Pharmacy, Theatre and Julius Berg) are the same as previous pictures, although the theatre now has the familiar ticket booth at the front. Building #10 is another hardware store. In Springville, building #11 (usually the post office) is 'Jim's Florist'. I didn't see a name on building #12, but there is a 'For Lease' sign in the window (not shown here).

  24. fish (here you go Roger, we're back to food)
  25. Points to everyone who said "13". Familiar brand names rarely appeared in Dukes, even to the extent that tape was placed over manufacturer's logos on many vehicles. This was not always the case in the early episodes, for example the 'FORD' text is clearly visible on Uncle Jesse's stepside pickup in the Georgia episodes. Q. In 'Swamp Molly' which household name appears on the gas pumps at the Boars Nest (it was obviously before Hoggoco )?: A) Amoco BP C) Chevron D) Exxon E) Mobil F) Shell G) Texaco H) Union 76
