Looks like the Volo car didn't get any bids this time. I also checked out the Jalen Rose car (see above). As far as I can tell it sold for $100k - which is good for his charity. It's now up for sale again: 1969 Dodge Charger General Lee The new owner has replaced Jalen's custom decals with standard General Lee ones and put it up for sale at $99,999.00 or best offer, even though it still has the wrong wheels. Either way, if you've got $100k burning a hole in your pocket, it's meant to be 1 of 4 that survived the TV series.

There's a reason that Lizzy was confident about poodles: Does anyone remember anybody in Hazzard owning a poodle?. A later episode adds the name 'Pauline's Poodle Parlor'. PS. Happy Birthday Lizzy - I hope you got something more than a point in the trivia contest . Q. Name the prison that appears in 'Opening Night at the Boar's Nest'.

I forgot to post a link to a blogspot I found whilst writing this thread. Check out dearoldhollywood.blogspot.com for a load of pictures of Hollywood filming locations. The link above highlights some Warner Bros films, and includes some great hi-resolution pictures of how Hazzard Square looks today (click on the pictures to enlarge them). It also shows how the backlots we're familiar with have been used in many other shows and movies over the years.

I seem to remember LEE #1 started out as a gold car too. I wonder how many '69 Chargers were produced in gold, because you hardly see any today. I guess most of the ones still with us have had at least one respray since new, and gold isn't most people's first color choice (their first choice is of course orange ). I'll dig out season 1 and see if I can work out which patrol car that is in the background.

Great pictures Brian, thanks for posting them. The car in the foreground here looks like the one from Repomen. I was going to say Ford LTD, but the page over at imcdb.org suggests that while an LTD was used in some shots, the one that got wrecked was a Galaxie 500.

I said there was another black and white sequence, and here it is. Towards the end of the chase they drive through the set of a war movie. You may recognize this building from near the cotton mill in Reunion. Just like the scene with Gabby driving the General (see above), when this building is seen a second time the picture has been mirrored (the writing is obviously backwards). Also the General briefly appears with an uncharacteristic '10' on the door. Maybe that's what Daisy saw when she says "Did you notice anything weird back there?". Another picture from the war scene. I think this is a beautiful atmospheric shot with the light breaking through the clouds, highlighting the curves of the General. Blink and you'll miss it - it's only on screen for less than a second. The building in the background was the cotton mill in Reunion aka. Laramie Street's courthouse. Finally, everybody returns to Hazzard for the groundbreaking ("And I do mean everybody."). This is how French Street looks in daylight. The new building #25 is the one with blue awnings - the scene when they leave the Bloody Bucket was filmed here (see above). The building in the background with the green roof is a front that's been added to one of the sound stages so that it doesn't look like a sound stage!. I thought it appropriate that the final picture was an overview of the square (taken from somewhere near building #1). The crowds are gathering for the concert of Toby Keith and Anita Blackwood, and as is well in Hazzard once again.

After Daisy rescues Bo and Luke they all escape in the General with Gabby. The following chase leads them all around Warner Bros' back lot, although not in a particularly logical order. The first car full of bad guys gets taken out by Cypriano And Deacon somewhere behind one of the main sets. Next the General appears in the unnamed set not far from where Daisy did her stunt work earlier. They go down the same street twice (filmed from different angles) before crashing through a fake wall onto the set of the first of many movie shoots. The next movie set they drive through is over near the Forest Lawn Drive entrance. If you look at the map that MeadowMufn posted here, it's the building in the center at the bottom. The ambulance then joins the chase. The chase then plows straight through Laramie Street (despite the fact that they were heading in the opposite direction in the last scene). Another movie ruined as the actors have to get out of the way. This must have been one of the last movies filmed in Laramie Street as it was only used for nine days of filming in the five years before it was torn down (according to this article).

This is the view as the General drives away from the Bloody Bucket club. The buildings in front are part of French Street. The ones at the side are new, which means that Red Perkins' garage (building #25) from Reunion has finally been replaced by the buildings that are shown on the map. Enos is shown running down French Street a little later on. The music pirating business is being run from the back of the old Hazzard Square drug store (building #7). The front of the store looks quite derelict. I considered posting picture of Bo and Luke's arrival at this location because it shows a wider view, but it takes place at night, and the other buildings aren't visible. Building #6 has a very different look to how it appeared in the series. Building #5 now seems to offer shoe repairs. For some reason this shot of Gabby driving the General away to get help has been mirrored. It's probably to be consistant with the wide shot that shows the car traveling right to left. I guess they never thought anyone would notice. They were a couple of scenes in the series where they did the same thing. The store in the background is Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits on North Hollywood Way - check it out here. As they try to escape, Bo and Luke get cornered in this alley. It's the alley between buildings 12 and 13. Luckily, Daisy rescues them with the help of the prop gun she "borrowed" from the movie set.

Looks like you're still having fun on the ranch - keep up the good work. In one of the early drafts of the script for 'Back to the Future' they were going to use a refrigerator for the time machine. It was changed to the DeLorean because they were worried that kids would try to copy the movie and get trapped.

Not the first time a reflection has helped us out!. More difficult and time consuming than I first thought it would be!. This is Patch on the phone just before he's confronted by Deacon and her boys. The stores are purely background, and play no part in the story. As far as I can tell this is the other arm of New York Street. If you go back to the map, it's about five stores to the left of the 'B'. The store with the circular top floor that's visible on the map seems to have been added later. 'Hazzard in Hollywood' has two black and white sequences, and I'll deal with the second in a couple of posts' time. The first is when Luke reminisces about saying goodbye to Anita Blackwood. The store on the left looks like it's building #26 on French Street. A very small part of the house that replaced Rhuebottom's is visible in the background. Apart from knowing that this scene wasn't filmed in French Street, it initially had me stumped. Then I recognized the former hotel in Hazzard Square (building #13) on the left. That would mean that the store on the right with 'Clothing' on is part of the new building #16. While trying to sell her motorcycle, Daisy stumbles onto a movie set. This street is another part of the unnamed set that's near New York Street (as used in 'Big Brothers, Duke' etc.). Daisy enters the set from near the Warner Boulevard entrance. This set also appears in another scene later on, but that's for another post.

In the movie 'Hazzard in Hollywood', all the vehicles are much newer and shinier than in the series. This can lead to problems, like in this scene where Patch walks around the side of his gleaming pickup truck. It's not easy to see in this still image, but in the movie you can clearly see a reflection of the film crew in the side of the truck as they follow the action. I guess I should be thankful for reflections, they've helped find a couple of locations in the Hazzard Square thread .

This is B.B. leaving his house. I don't have any other reference pictures to go by, but I think this house is the one that replaced Cooter's garage in Hazzard Square (and the house next to it replaced Rhuebottom's). This is the scene where the Russians are chasing Bo and Luke from the campsite. I nearly left this picture out because I wasn't able to identify the location. Most of the other LA locations have either a recognizable landmark, street name or business. However, it turns out that there's more than one McDonalds in LA (who'd have thought it!). It did eventually work out that it's Fletcher Drive, just around the corner from Silver Lake Boulevard (see above). The camera lens really shortens the road here. The tire shop appears to be miles away from the Chevron gas station when you look in Street View. The blue, white and yellow sign (patrly hidden by the tree on the left) is 'M & W Liquor' (still there), while the blue and red sign is for 'York Sheet Metal'. Their sign has changed, but their phone number is still the same. The other liquor store and the tire shop with 'Drive Service' on the wall that appear just after this are slightly further down the same street (do a 180 in the Street View link). It apppears that the General skids around the corner by the second tire shop and pulls into a car wash. In real life, the car wash is 10 minutes away, across Silver Lake Reservoir, on the corner of Prospect Avenue and Vermont Avenue. 'Orange Bee Jay' is now 'Machos Tacos', but the car wash is still there - they do a wash and wax for $9.99 (or $8.99 if you believe their other sign). Sadly, it's under new management, and staff are now fully clothed. Check it out on Street View, the empty concrete building seen in the background in the movie is now US Bank and Starbucks Coffee. Bo: You know, Luke, I think this would go over real big in Hazzard. Luke: I love this town. As Mufn pointed out back on post #77, the ATM that Rosco uses/destroys is on the New York Street set. It's the same building that played the Bank of Capitol City a couple of times.

Thanks Roger. To answer the last question, I'll give the whole quote, because there's no context for it: "Rosco always takes Albert Einstein, his champion-stud basset hound wherever he goes. You might notice that Albert ain't moving. The reason is, he's dead. Albert passed two years ago, but Rosco was so brokenhearted he had a dog doll made and named him Albert." I don't know about the James Garner movie, but the tunnel from the original run of Dukes was in 'Witness for the Persecution' in season 2. Here's the line you remembered: This tunnel is on Soledad Canyon Road, a few miles east of Santa Clarita. It was also the tunnel that was used in Steven Spielberg's movie 'Duel'. You can check it out on Street View here.

When Rosco's RV is stolen, the chase is on. Bo and Luke spot it going through this tunnel and give chase. The tunnel is on Mount Hollywood Drive in Griffith Park - check it out here. Rosco and Cletus pick a different direction. This is the same intersection as above, but facing the other way. Some of the other shots, including the view of the Griffith Observatory, were filmed on the unpaved roads nearby. Rosco and Cletus's search leads them to this street. The stores may be new, but it's the same old New York Street set underneath. The street also seems to include every racial/social stereotype that the writers could think of (or get away with). Meanwhile, Bo and Luke's pursuit ends when they stop to 'even the odds' in a fight. The fight, the meeting with Cypriano and friends, and the General Lee jump all take place at the end of Silver Lake Boulevard - you can see it here. If you've clicked on the Street View link, you'll also see the house on the corner of Glenhurst Avenue where the block party takes place. The house where Bo picks up Gabriela is three houses down. It looks like the present owners aren't so keen on gardening.

Hi knightprowl, welcome to HazzardNet, sorry I missed your post for a few days. I have no problem with you using my artwork for your GTA mod as long as you don't money from it (if you plan to make money, we need to talk ). I do plan some more signs, buildings and possibly vehicles in the near future, it's just that the Hazzard Square thread has been taking a fair bit of my time for the last couple of months - I'm nearly finished now. As you can appreciate, some of the vehicles and buildings take many hours of work (I'd hate to count them), so I glad you like them. If there's anything you'd like to see, let me know and I'll try to jump it up the list - no promises though. If you're after a particular sign, let me know which episode it's in so I can find it easily. With regard to your PMing problems, it looks like you must have turned off those options when you set up your account. If that's the case, follow the steps below: 1) Click on 'User CP' on the left of the menu bar (near the top of the screen). 2) Click 'Edit Options' (about half way down on the left). 3) Tick the boxes marked 'Enable Private Messaging' and 'Enable Visitor Messaging'. 4) Click 'Save Changes' at the bottom. If that doesn't work, post here again and one of the moderators will see it. Usually your first 10 or so posts are moderated.

While, like Roger, I'm dubious of a new series, I thought I throw another name into the ring for Uncle Jesse's part. That man is the musician Seasick Steve. Ok, he's more of a bluesman than country, but here's some of the reasons I think he might work: 1) He already has the white beard and wears plaid shirts, bib and braces and John Deere caps. 2) Although he's originally from California, he spent some time living around the Mississippi and Tennessee area. 3) Success came to him late in life, and one of things he bought was a tractor - he says he's not into farming, but enjoys plowing. 4) He's a really down-to-earth guy, and I can't find a bad word written about him. I think most of his success has been in Europe, and I'm not sure how well known he is in the US, so here's a couple of interviews with him. Both feature different custom-made guitars he uses that were created from very unusual objects: Seasick Steve on Top Gear Finally, the man can play. Here's the performance that got him noticed. The song was also the title of his first successful album - "I started out with nothin', and I still got most of it left":
