I'm always here, Garrett, you should know that. To quote Carl the the janitor from 'The Breakfast Club', "I am the eyes and ears of this institution, my friends."

Do wb general lee's have secret id #s stamped on them
HossC replied to chargercar's topic in The General Lee
When I first joined HNet, it used different software, and up where you see the bold, italic, underline, link, quote etc. buttons in the reply window there used to be one for images. You clicked it, up popped a box where you pasted the image URL and you clicked OK or Insert or something like that. All it really did was put IMG tags around the URL. Back then, I could compose my longer posts in a text editor, including images with IMG tags, and paste the whole lot into the reply window. When the software changed, I found that you could paste the URLs directly, although it seems they have to start HTTPS rather than just HTTP nowadays. -

I've been here for well over a decade and I've never noticed that button! Out of the two choices, I'd go for "Insert image from URL", but I just paste the URL directly into the post. The forum should recognize it as an image and display it. Which image host are you using? -

You can only directly upload very small images in the posts. The best thing to do is to use an image hosting site. It looks like Flickr lets you upload 1,000 images for free, but there are many other - just search for "free image hosting". The image host will then give you a link to post the image in the forum. -
So, no one wanted to post a "Y" word in the last round! Come on guys - two rules to this game: go through the alphabet in order and put the word(s) you're playing in CAPITAL letters. We're now looking for a "B" word. It was Mr. WINKLE.

Can I remind y'all of the way this game works from the very first post. The next song has to include at least one word in its title that was in the previous song title. If you just want to post your favorite music, you can use the What are you listening to??? thread.

What I'm Doing Right Now!
HossC replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I think that the word 'redneck' was only used about half a dozen times across all the seasons of the original show, so it's not like they were censoring a common word for the kids' version. I found a website that compares two words. Here's what it has to say about Roughneck and Redneck (obviously other definitions will vary): roughneck Noun Any laborer on an oil rig A rowdy or uncouth person redneck Noun (slang, pejorative) An uneducated, unsophisticated, or poor Caucasian person, typically used to describe residents (of any gender "Country Music Lyrics New Country Tunes") of the rural Southern US. (slang) The nickname given to miners who wore red bandanas for identification during the West Virginia mine war of 1921. "West Virginia Division of Culture and History" (UK, archaic) The nickname given to Roman Catholics in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. -
TAYLOR Character played by Bob Hastings in 'Sky Bandits Over Hazzard'.

Airwolf is being shown on one of the satellite channels over here. I tried it again a year or two ago as I liked it in the '80s, but I couldn't get back into it. Hobie, Airwolf was one of many '80s shows based around a vehicle - in this case a hi-tech helicopter. As well as Knight Rider, another that springs to mind is Hardcastle and McCormick which gave a lot of screen time to the prototype sports car known as the Coyote. The only series in Tony's list that I've never watched is Street Hawk, although I'm aware of it. Street Hawk was based around a prototype motorcycle! It's a shame that BJ and the Bear isn't on DVD - I'd buy it too. They've only released seasons 1 and 2 of The Fall Guy on DVD, and while the US can now buy all 6 seasons of CHiPs on DVD, we can only get seasons 1 and 2 in region 2. Speaking of The Fall Guy, how does everyone feel about next year's Fall Guy movie. According to what I've read, Ryan Gosling is playing Colt Seavers and Emily Blunt is Jody Banks. I'll have to give Airwolf another try as it had great theme music:

OCTOLINE One of the fake company logos that appeared on race suits in the show. It was very similar to the Castrol Oil logo. I've never heard of 'James at 16' - I checked it out on IMDb, but I don't think it was shown in the UK (the only countries in Europe with release dates are Germany and Italy). Kim and Kyle appeared two separate, consecutive episodes of 'CHiPs' the year before Kim was in Dukes.

Good song. This is a acid jazz cover of a Stevie Wonder song from 1992. It was successful across Europe, but I don't know if it was released in the US. The driving scenes were filmed around Camden in north London. 'Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing' - Incognito

What you call football is the third or fourth sport known as football over here. The first two are soccer and Gaelic, and the third and fourth are American football and Aussie rules. The Super Bowl was widely covered over here, and some people took the Monday off work to watch it, but Rihanna's pregnancy was probably bigger news than the result.

MYLES Wilder Writer & producer of many episodes Hobie, did you forget about putting your words in capital letters?

You're right. Jeannie Wilson played Mary Kaye in 'Mary Kaye's Baby' and Laura Bardsley in 'Treasure of Hazzard'. It's easy to miss as her hair changes from blonde to brunette. Also, as you go through the seasons, you'll see that Doris Dowling, who appears as Stacy Williams in 'Treasure of Hazzard', comes back as Jenny in 'Go West, Young Dukes'. -

You started one on February 4, and it's in the same forum and has the same name as this one. -
In Europe this is the Opel (Vauxhall in the UK) Insignia Country Tourer. The sedans are reasonably popular here.

Following on from my last F1 post, Red Bull confirmed a tie-up with Ford to supply engines from 2026. The F1 teams are currently launching their 2023 cars ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain in a couple of weeks. Hopefully that'll enable us to move on to happier news after a few recent controversies. All the drivers have expressed concern that the FIA (the sport's governing body) have prohibited "personal, religious and political statements" by drivers without written consent. It might also be the end of the pro-diversity 'We Race As One' campaign that F1 has promoted since 2020. The FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, is also stepping back from direct involvement in the sport after trying to control aerodynamic changes to cars himself, commenting on financial matters and the discovery of misogynistic comments on a historic website of his. Roll on the return to racing!

Los Angeles will be hosting the Olympics again in 2028. Although the Coliseum was built in 1923, it was an iconic venue for the previous games in 1932 and 1984, so maybe it's a bit of early publicity. However, it doesn't look that well suited to NASCAR racing. It's a shame they closed the Riverside Raceway in California (as seen in footage in 'Undercover Dukes'). That closed in 1989 and held its last NASCAR race a year earlier. The site is now covered by housing and a shopping mall.

I've just checked out Turbine's website - it's a cool looking set, but €200 (approx. $213 at today's rates)! -
Roger, here are the bikes and trikes which appear on IMCDb's Dukes of Hazzard page. I've listed them alphabetically and added the episodes they appeared in. They're normally pretty good at identification on IMCDb, but not completely infallible.
