quotes Favorite Dukes of Hazzard Quotes
HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
It was not my intention to stop you posting, Skipper. This is a forum and not Facebook. It should be a place of integrity where we can have fun, but intelligent discussions and interactions without any of the nastiness which seems to go hand in hand with social media. That's why we keep religion, politics and most bad language away from HazzardNet. It's also not about posting dozens of times a day hoping someone will "like" something you said. The only two things I've asked you to do is to make sure quotes are accurate to what was actually said (this is a pet peeve of mine online, because if I've gone to the trouble of searching out dialogue, I want it to be correct), and to avoid posting quotes with excessive profanity or particularly adult themes (even with censored words). I don't consider either of these requests to be particularly draconian, and everyone else here is able to work within these boundaries. -

Skipper - I don't know how many times I have to say this, but if you can't quote accurately, don't post it as a quote! I don't know if you're mixing up the quotes yourself or copying them from an unreliable source, but please stop. In the post above you've merged the two parts of the scene while missing bits out and misquoting others. Here's what was actually said: Bo: "I bet that dang trial's started already." Luke: "The stork had to pick this morning for delivery." Bo: "All right, we'll still make it." Luke: "Come on, Doc, let's hit the road." Doc Appleby: "Sorry, boys, looks like it's going to be twins." Doc: "Be right with you, boys." Bo: "We'll still make it, right?" Luke: "Yeah." Doc: "Uh, Boys..." Luke: "You gotta be kidding. Not triplets." Balladeer: "They're lucky he ain't a vet. Some dogs have a dozen to the litter." I haven't had time to check your previous post from 'The Ghost of General Lee', but that's another whole scene for which you created a separate thread. Stick to the couple of quotable lines at the end - we're not after an entire script here. -

New member, LA filming locations
HossC replied to Moparmotel's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Hi Rob, I've updated the two "mystery location" links on the first page. Let me know if there are any other broken links and I'll try to fix them. -
You're probably thinking of this scene in 'The Revenge of Hughie Hogg' (S5E13). Boss has told Rosco that he's supporting Hughie Hogg for sheriff: Lulu: "...and until you give Rosco his job back you're gonna have to find another place to feed your face and lay that body down. Now, I mean it. And I mean it." Boss: "Oh, Lulukins, please." Lulu: "I do." Boss: "I don't mind about the laying down but I sure gotta have the feeding."

I don't think the second quote is the one you're trying to remember, but it serves the same purpose. From 'One Armed Bandits' (S1E1): "Boss eats at the Boars Nest because his wife Lulu is a lousy cook." From 'Cool Hands, Luke & Bo' (S7E7): "Boss got all of his businesses back and he was looking forward to some of Lulu's fine home cooking." It's possible that the latter line is sarcastic as Boss ends up with three beans on a platter. Maybe Cooter never fixed the locks when he put the doors back on. What do you expect for $35.42?

Even when you censor the rude words, lots of these quotes aren't appropriate for this forum. Please consider that before you post any more and keep them family friendly.

We lost another prominent Irish musician last week: Shane MacGowan. Sadly, the news came a day after a friend of mine passed away, so I'm late with this post. Here's Shane with The Pogues singing 'Fiesta': And here he is duetting with Sinead O'Connor on 'Haunted'. It's hard to believe that we've lost both of them in the last six months.

The exchange above was about the slit in the dress that Daisy wore to the Boar's Nest. Without context, the quote is pretty meaningless. -
Different Looks For Jesse and Boss
HossC replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
He had one in several of the pictures I posted here. -
It wasn't Doc Petticord, but it looked a bit like him. Pat (Patrick) Crenshaw played Doc Petticord in 'Double Sting' (season 1), but his character was only named "Doctor" in 'And in This Corner, Luke Duke' (season 3) . Parley Baer started playing Doc Appleby in 'Coltrane vs. Duke' near the start of season 4, but then didn't appear again until 'Too Many Roscos' near the start of season 6. In 'Dear Diary' (near the end of season 4), Doc Appleby was played by a different actor, Elmore Vincent. This was his only appearance in Dukes and one of only 29 acting credits between 1956 and 1983.

You can't post it here either - HNet is a family friendly site. Don't do it again!

BENTLEY The car in 'Repo Men' was actually a Bentley S2 with a Rolls Royce grille. FYI. You've played this twice in s row and the county was always Sweetwater (one word). I think I've only missed one day on HNet in over ten years, and that was because I couldn't log in. I just don't have time to post every day.

New To Site But A Regular at The Boar’s Nest
HossC replied to Roscoe.P.Coltrane's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome to HNet, Pete. I've never collected the Johnny Lightning merchandise, but I'm sure that other members will have done. NB. I haven't approved your other post yet as we don't usually include personal contact details in public posts. I'll let Meadowmufn decide on that. In the meantime, you can use the private messaging system here to talk to other members. -
So why didn't you say that in your post?

Skipper, I've said this before - please don't post links without at least a brief description. A lot of people won't click on them.

They're being posted on YouTube, but Skipper hasn't bothered posting links since the early ones. I'd hope that most of us have them on DVD anyway.

He's a very talented young driver who's already sewn up his third World championship this year, but he's won 17 out of the first 20 races so far this year (and his team mate won two of the other three), so the season's been rather dull. Personally, I think that Lewis Hamilton should've won his eighth World championship when Max won his first because the officials didn't follow the restart rules in the last race of the season that year. There's been some good battles down the field this year, but the season belongs to Red Bull.

I've also slacking on my F1 reviews. Just take it that Max Verstappen won!

ANTIQUE Technically, a vintage car is one built between 1919 and 1930, so the General is an antique car (45+ years old). This site even lists a 1968 Dodge Charger as an example of an antique car,

Small correction, but it's a well-known quote: "And since when is it against the law to fix up your own car when somebody else busts it up, huh?"

2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie
HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Skipper, very few people are going to click a link with no description. It's actually a short (5:47) video on Facebook called 'Dissecting A GENERAL LEE: How This Car Survived!' where they take apart the freeway launch car from the movie and look at the damage.- 37 replies
