    Rosco's Patrol Car

I actually did the Hatchapee County logo a while back, but never put it on a patrol car or posted it. I'll have to see if any of the episodes with Capitol City cars show their badges clearly enough to reproduce. The first car below is Sheriff 'Spike' Loomis's patrol car from 'Days of Shine and Roses'. Hatchapee County had at least three patrol cars in that episode, but only Sheriff Loomis's car had the 'shine jugs stenciled on the front fender. I counted 13 jugs including the last one that he added at the start of the episode (that's why the last one is slightly larger and a slightly different color). The car has chrome rocker panels and chrome trim around the wheel arches. It also had the wider side trim with a black stripe down the center and the squarer design of lightbar. You can see a screengrab of the car in The Patrol Cars In Pictures thread. The second picture is a Hatchapee car from 'Twin Trouble'. The badge is the same, but they are now using blue and white cars instead of the original black and white. I don't think that we ever get to see the front of the patrol car in this episode, but I think the tail lights suggest a 1975 Fury whereas Sheriff Loomis's car was a 1977 Monaco.
  2. Alex, you're meant to keep at least one word in the song title the same, not the band. I Say Nothing - Voice of the Beehive I can't believe that it was about 20 years ago that I saw this band. I was sorting through some stuff recently and found a huge poster that I'd bought at the gig.
  3. That's an interesting new project you've got there. I knew a guy who used to build and ride these 25 years ago. At the time I'd never seen anything like them. I got a chance to ride one about 10 years ago. They say you never forget how to ride a bicycle, but you have to learn again on one of these . I understand that cost dictates the use of an old bike as a starting point, but the height of the seat makes it look like it'll have a high center of gravity for this type cycle.
  4. I think I got to about half distance before I had to call it a night - it was just too late for me. How Danica slipped between the other two cars in the early accident I'll never know. I thought Jeff Gordon might have a good race after he briefly led, but then I saw his engine go not long before I had to turn off. I saw a video of JPM's crash this morning - that delay really would have made a late night of it if I'd tried to stay up. I still have to wait until the 18th of March for the first race of the F1 season, and seeing as it's back to its usual starting point of Australia it will be a late night/early morning for me!.
  5. My first car was a 1984 Mk I Ford Orion - basically a European Mk III Ford Escort with a trunk. Unlike the picture below, which shows the top-of-the-range Ghia model, mine was a tatty mid-range version with the grille of an Escort (five horizontal bars instead of three). I think it cost about £300. It gave me my first taste of freedom, but at a price (luckily only financial). The original engine expired, mainly due to the oil and temperature gauges not working. I also had a wheel bearing go at 70mph and didn't know it had gone until I tried to stop and found it had shattered the brakes. It was involved in two accidents while it was parked up, and broken into twice - once to steal my tools from the trunk and once to steal a broken radio. It was sad to see it go, but also a relief. My current car is 12 years old, and the other day I realized something. There are no vanity license plates in Ireland (unlike the US and UK) so all plates start with the last two digits of the year of issue (followed by a letter or two for the county of issue and a sequential number). My car may not be a blue Mustang with flames, but I can say that I drive a Double Zero .
  6. You may be pleased to know that an article in a British newspaper yesterday said that the Girl Guides in the UK are still signing up new members at the rate of one an hour. I don't remember any stories about politicians interfering over there.
  7. Nice pictures Garrett - did you ask John if he's planning a visit to Ireland so I can get to meet him?. Alex, although I found one lyrics site with your version I think you'll find that the last verse is: I'm a good ol' boy You know my mama loved me But she don't understand They keep showin' my hands And not my face on TV
  8. Welcome to HNet stonewall. Like the others I have never seen a '66/'67 Charger in Dukes as the General Lee. I was just thinking how different the show would have been if Dodge had gone with their 1964 concept for the Charger - I think the only feature that survived was the 'Charger' emblem. Imagine if the General had no roof to put a flag on .
  9. Sorry for confusing y'all - I've just watched the relevant scene and it was just Daisy who drives Enos to the airport. Enos has a buttermilk with all the Dukes at the farm before they leave, and Daisy drives him in the General instead of Dixie. I think it was because I remembered the General at the airport that I thought Bo and Luke had gone along too.
  10. For the current trivia question about Enos going to the airport, I thought I remembered Bo, Luke and Daisy in the General with Enos. Just to be different I'll say Bo was driving. Brian, like you I remember the scenes, but can't remember the episodes. I'll have a good hard think about them today .
  11. It's not done in Photoshop, but I did these a couple of months back in the General Lee Artwork thread in Fan Art (along with some other weird creations):

    Signs of Hazzard

Welcome to HNet Hazzarddowner. The font used in the main titles of Dukes is called Hobo - there's a link to a download in this thread. The other logos (the one you reposted and the one with the black background) are both drawn from scratch and therefore not based on a particular typeface. You might find something vaguely similar, but I wouldn't waste your time looking too hard . Most of the other signs I've done here are the same - hand-painted originals that have no font matches.
  13. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  14. You won't find Laramie Street any more - it was torn down in 2003. You might get to see some of the other backlots that Dukes used eg. New York Street. Sorrell is buried at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave., Culver City, Los Angeles - it's not far from LAX - see it on Google Maps here. There's more detailed information about the grave location and some pictures here.
  15. I should have re-read my original post. I posted a link to a site about the NCE convertibles (to save you going back, it's here), and about 1/3 of the way down the page is a piece about car #2 of 250. The site claims that this may be the car that featured in the Motor Trend article that MaryAnne posted: When it was listed on ebay it was said to come with "the original Zenith wire wheels". A quick Google image search suggests they may well be Zenith wheels.

  17. I haven't seen that picture, but I'll have a look and post anything I find.

  18. I posted a couple in the thread you started a while back:

If you want something different, let me know.

    One Word Song Titles

    Same name, different song.
  20. I was deciding which song with the word "Girl" in the title I should use, then I remembered this one had "The Word Girl" in the title : From the album 'Cupid & Psyche 85'.
  21. I haven't actually got much by Saxon, but I enjoyed listening to this one the other night (I thought I'd remembered Brian posting something similar in one of the other musical threads). You can't beat a good bit of old-school British metal, especially from a group that comes from the same part of England as my father.
  22. Nice try Roger, but BL had it right. It was from Shakespeare's 'Henry V'. It's not one that I've read, but it doesn't sound like the sort of thing Boss would read either .
