    One Word Song Titles

From their seventh studio album 'Savage': Shame -Eurythmics Apparently this album didn't do too well in the US, and although this song was the second single in the UK, it was never released as a single in the US - shame!. I guess the UK/US thing works both ways. I don't think Oingo Boingo had much or even any chart success in the UK. I'm familiar with their theme for Weird Science (although I didn't know who it was by), and Danny Elfman's later work, but that's about it. There's something about the backing of this track that really reminds me of the intro to . That's Stress the UK neo-psychedelic rock band (Wikipedia's description) from the late '80s/early '90s, and not to be confused with other bands of the same name. Despite supporting Lenny Kravitz on tour they never had great success and only released one album.
  2. We seem to be cutting a word off the title each time - if anyone knows a song called 'Day' it belongs in 'One Word Song Titles' .
  3. Thanks. You can click on my user name to leave visitor messages my profile page.

Be sure to take pictures and post them if you get to the CA locations - I'm thousands of miles away, and a visit doesn't seem likely in the near future :(.

  5. No need Roger, Daney already has the right answer - it was 'Trouble at Cooter's'. If you have the closed captions on while the boys are singing it doesn't show the lyrics but does say "Do you know the words?". If you need the closed captions, how do you know what the song is?. Anyone else care to ask a question?.
  6. Sticking with the '80s: The strange scene at the beginning of the video was filmed in Camden Parkway, North London. Despite the video being nearly 30 years old, some of the stores are still recognizable.
  7. Songs with 'Another' in their title must've been popular in the late '70s - here another one : I still remember the video that contained the Gerald Scarfe cartoons (marching hammers etc.) - that's the version that was shown on TV when it topped the UK charts in 1979:
  8. The fact that you enjoyed making these pictures means they weren't a waste of time, no matter what other people's opinions are. Having said that, I know from posting my own pictures here that it's good to get some sort of feedback. From reading the other comments it's clear that I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing your pictures, and always look at new ones that you've posted - I apologize for not commenting earlier. Even though I don't really read/watch any Anime I can still appreciate the work you put into these. Also, despite playing around with photos myself, I have no idea how you do most of them .
  9. Your model seems to be coming along really well, even if I don't remember a any zombies appearing in Dukes . I also watched a couple of your older videos and it was nice to see the progress you've made (and to get a name check in one of them ). I'm glad your latest video has dropped the music at the beginning and end that was much louder than the rest of film. Keep up the good work.
  10. This band also did quite well in the '80s: One Way or Another - Blondie This song is actually from their most successful album 'Parallel Lines' which came out in 1978. The fact that I remember 1978 may go some way to answering Val Strate's current question: "Why do I feel old....?" .
  11. Or is there another way?. I thought of several more songs with 'Way' in the title - anyone fancy more on this theme?. I had a couple of 'Boogie' songs left - maybe we'll get back to them.
  12. Well done Roger, it was 'Take It Easy' (see below). Here's a tougher follow-up question: Which episode begins with Bo and Luke singing 'Take It Easy'?. As Waylon says, "That's singing. Well, sort of." (Clue: it was in season 4)

  14. I thought I'd pitch in with some Dukes references from Top Gear. The first is from the British (original!) show. In one of the 2010 Christmas specials they did a roadtrip up the east coast of the US in supercars. Their first stop-off was the original NASCAR track at North Wilkesboro, NC. After Jeremy Clarkson shredded the tires on his Mercedes SLS he called on the local mayor to help him out, and referred to him several times as 'Boss Hogg'. When they got to the tire shop they found the fitter only spoke 'hillbilly'. Later they got to practice drive-by shootings - what could be more American to us warm-beer-drinking, bad-toothed Brits? . I couldn't find the clip on Youtube, but the whole show is here (the bit I mentioned is in part 2): http://www.streetfire.net/video/top-gear-season-15-episode-7-new-york-special-720p-hd-full-video_part-1_2181989.htm The second season of the US version of Top Gear has just started airing over here (about 5 months late). In the fourth episode they get a challenge to drive across Death Valley in a $500 4x4. When the boys find that Tanner Foust has chosen a Jeep CJ7 he gets called 'Daisy Duke' a couple of times. Although it hasn't aired here yet, I found that the challenge in the eighth episode is for the presenters to construct replicas of their favorite Hollywood cars with a budget of $2000. Adam Ferrara turns up in a General Lee replica mode from a 1973 Plymouth Duster. I found a clip on YouTube, I guess I'll have to wait a few weeks to see how the challenge ends. 15. My mind obviously doesn't work like yours Mufn . I thought buzzards on a buzzsaw would look like this: Feel free to use the pony picture on Facebook. I'll leave you to figure out the possums and flapjack .
  16. As far as I can tell it was Groucho Marx that said "A man's only as old as the woman he feels". If that's true, then at present I must be ageless ( or depending on your point of view). I couldn't find the pictures I wanted to do that one. Is one of Rosco's quotes acceptable as an alternative?.

  18. Well CD, I dug out my DVD, and you've helped me to answer my question about which episode the picture of East Potrero Road in this post came from (third picture down) - it was 'The Ghost of General Lee'. You're on the right road (both literally and metaphorically), but you're going in the wrong direction. The scene where the Sweetwater sheriff drops off the two bad guys is back past the other bridge, near the junction with Carlisle Road. Check out the inset tree from the Google Street View and compare it to the one behind the patrol car. This small structure in the field has changed slightly, but the fence in the foreground and the trees behind are pretty much the same. The bad guys end up where they began, although I'm sure the crash itself was filmed on a different stretch of road. If you clicked on the Google link then spin around and you'll see that the area to the right of this picture is virtually unchanged. The area to the left, including the section of road where the Sweetwater County sign was located, is now the car park for the Sherwood Lake Golf Club (the same one mentioned in the previous post - it's a par 54 course designed by Jack Nicklaus that opened in 2006). Don't confuse it with Sherwood Country Club across the lake - I'll be covering that later. Finally, and out of sequence (sorry), is another view of the bridge from my previous post. This is the view that the Sweetwater sheriff gets of the chase from up on the hill. As far as I can tell this land is part of Canyon Ranch. Their website claims it serves "the needs of feature films, photo shoots, commercials, as well as episodic television and music videos" but doesn't name anything that's been filmed there, and I can't find any references to Dukes using the ranch.
  19. Nice one Rosco83522. I remembered Hard Luck Jones, but couldn't think of the revenue agent. Now another question. Throughout 'Uncle Boss' Cooter wears an oily red T-shirt, but what does it say on it?: A) Already Gone Desperado C) Get Over It D) Take It To The Limit E) Take It Easy In case y'all hadn't guessed from the choices, it was the name of a song by The Eagles.
  20. There are several episodes that use other parts of Decker Canyon Road (see the second picture in the previous post - the one with the yellow sign on the right), but there are no interesting landmarks. That leaves me with these pictures that I wanted to post last week, but it took me a while finding the last scene (how I wish I screengrabbed it the first time I saw it). We're now continuing down East Carlisle Road, south of the previous two pictures. Several chases take place down this road, but the first easily recognizable feature is this bridge. I had a good number of screengrabs to choose from because it appears so often. The one I eventually chose is from 'Enos Strate to the Top' - most of the chase near the start of the episode is along this road. The background here shows just hills, but in the last 30 years it's been landscaped and is now part of a golf course. For the Google Maps view click here. This is the same bridge from down by the river (seen here in 'Mason Dixon's Girls'). The main picture shows water under the bridge, but in 'Uncle Boss' the Dukes were able to hide under the bridge because the bed was dry (see inset). Another familiar feature down this road is this small rocky hill. The picture I've chosen is from 'Enos Strate to the Top'. See how it looks today on Google Maps. If you looked at the Google link above you'll have seen that there's a small bridge on the right. When Dukes was filmed there was just a slighly broken white fence leading to this bridge, and cars regularly drive in and out of the side road. Today the white fence has been replaced by a stone entrance and a set of electric gates. The picture is from 'Mason Dixon's Girls'. There may have been some filming further south, but when East Carlisle Road becomes West Carlisle Road it also becomes a private road, so the Google Street View cars could go no further.

Hi Jessica. I'm guessing you didn't turn on Private Messaging when you set up your account. It's quite easy; just click on 'User CP' (User Control Panel) in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on 'Edit Options' about half way down the list on the left, then put a tick in the 'Enable Private Messaging' box and 'Save Changes' (at the bottom).

Once you've done that we can discuss what you want for your banner.
