  1. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  2. I never realised how grouped together they were. Last year sadly saw the passing of a few members of the Duke family including the ones you mentioned as well as Christopher Mayer later in the year. I hope that Al Wyatt Jr's death is not an omen of things to come this year. At least we have Cathy's birthday to celebrate on March 1st. Did you think about checking your signature for the correct spelling? .
  3. No problem - I worked it out, so I'll know for next time. BTW I'm on GMT ATM .
  4. Just had to check what time zone you were in. I'm there if you want a chat.
  5. Congratulations Darrell. I'd say Brian was right when he called this accolade "long overdue".
  6. He's bidding on a 1979 lunch box (with Thermos), but I can't find any that are older than 1980, so it looks like they still goofed. When I checked this morning there were 38 for sale on ebay.com including several with 'Buy it now' prices, so it's not like he's bidding on an especially rare item. I could understand it if he was bidding on a Dukes of Hazzard ashtray (as mentioned in ) - they don't show up very often .
  7. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  8. Welcome to HNet Dave. It's great to see another new member get stuck in and start posting. Judging by the pictures you've posted so far I'd say you'll enjoy it here.
  9. Good question Daney, I knew many of the character names appeared in both, but I didn't realise there were that many actors in both. I think Ben Jones was a revenuer or similar in Moonrunners. I'm sure Jerry Rushing had a small part in Moonrunners, but I can't remember what it was. He later played Ace Parker in 'Repomen'. That's the only ones that I remember - maybe it's a hint that it's time to watch Moonrunners again . I can see her face, and remember spotting her in an episode of 'The Fall Guy' recently, but her name eludes me for now. I think she had a double-barrelled surname if that helps anyone else.

    One Word Song Titles

I mentioned this song a few months back because it was part of a great AV mashup. Here's the whole song: As well as winning a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording it has appeared in a commercial for Budweiser Select and NBC's Sunday Night Football.
  11. I don't know about the Knight Rider location, but the racetrack used several times in Dukes was Saugus Speedway on Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, CA. I did mention it in passing in the Hazzard Square thread, but it's easy to miss - the post is here, and includes a link for Google Maps. From the research I did at the time I believe it's now used for swap meets.
  12. I should be back at home tomorrow night - I'll have a look then, and look out the screengrabs you wanted.

  13. It's very hard finding good studio versions of Supertramp on YouTube - I also like the penguins .

    One Word Song Titles

Here's one from an Irish band - I don't how well known they are in others parts of the world.
  16. I can do you the Dukes screengrabs if you tell me what you want, but you'll have to wait until next Monday as I'm away from my DVDs.
  17. If paradise is half as nice as heaven that you take me to, Who needs paradise I'd rather have you.
  18. Barlow's website is here if anyone finds a decent picture and needs to make comparisons.
  19. I know their knives get used quite a bit, but the first scene I remembered was Luke digging out Daisy's bullets from behind the target in 'Officer Daisy Duke'. The screengrab below is the best I could get - I didn't get to see the handle. If you look at the inset picture (where I've tweaked the levels a bit), it appears that the knife is made by Buck. Looking at their website the closest current product I could find is a model called 'Ranger' - check it out here. I'm going to be away from my DVDs for a few days, so won't be able to look for any more until the start of next week. Maybe someone else will post pics in the meantime.
  20. There's a couple more locations that CDoherty brought up which I forgot weren't part of the Hazzard Square thread, so you may have missed them: Mystery Location This one covers locations used in 'Comrade Duke' (and other episodes), most notably the airfield (now a plowed field) and a familiar stretch of tarmac called Pico Canyon Road. Both are quite near the Indian Dunes (Styx River jump etc.) that you mentioned. The airfield location is visible from Henry Mayo Drive, but Pico Canyon Road is part of the Newhall Ranch so I doubt if it's open to the public. Mystery Location II This one has the location of the fight at the end of 'Welcome Back Bo and Luke' and also covers the railroad jump in 'Grannie Annie'. Both are in Oxnard, which may be a bit out of your way. Both threads have Google Maps links to the locations discussed. Lastly, I barely mentioned Piru in the Hazzard Square thread (it was only going to be about the WB back lots when I started it ). It's only a few miles west of the Indian Dunes. The race in 'Luke's Love Story' goes through Piru, and many of the locations are virtually unchanged. Piru also appears in 'Officer Daisy Duke'. The bridge at the east end of the town featured in a couple of episodes and, although bypassed with a new bridge, is still standing (as far as I know). Head a couple of miles north on Piru Canyon Road and you'll reach Lake Piru. A couple of episodes were filmed here including 'The Great Insurance Fraud' where Coy thinks he's caused conman Ward's death when his car goes into the lake. Looks like I may have to add a couple of posts about Piru to the Hazzard Square thread, but I doubt if I'll have time before your road trip.
  21. Google Maps shows it as the intersection of East Carlisle Road and Carlisle Road. I checked Bing Maps and it didn't even label Carlisle Road (it's only a short dead-end). It shouldn't be too hard to spot - it's about halfway down East Carlisle Road on the left-hand-side, right opposite the golf club car park. The post contains a Google Maps link. I've noticed that there are a few differences between the street naming on Google Maps vs Bing Maps eg. the road that passes Lake Eleanor is the north part of Decker Canyon Road on Google, but the south end of South Westlake Blvd on Bing. All the links I've posted are for Google Maps, so maybe you should print off a map of the area from there and mark the places you want to go. Are you planning on doing the WB Studio tour as well?.
  22. I haven't covered the West Potrero Road area (just north-west of Lake Sherwood) in the Hazzard Square thread yet because, as I mentioned recently, I was planning to link to Wekke's pictures. Since these are no longer available I hope to be covering the area soon. This road, with its distinctive white fencing, was used quite a bit. From what I can see it hasn't changed much. I think the only picture I've posted so far is from the Reunion movie: Don't go looking for the location of the Duke Farm and Boars Nest from this era - the location near Lake Sherwood has changed beyond recognition. I also plan to cover this in future posts.
  23. I'll take a word from the beginning and add a couple at the end:
  24. Hi Nick, welcome to HNet. I'm very envious of your upcoming trip to the filming locations. Take lots of pictures, and then post them here. If you get to East Carlisle Road you might be able to tell us what the strange object in the second picture of this post is. What a shame that you had to let your General go. Still, at least you still have the '68. It looks like yours has the white stripe around the rear. If I owned a black '68 Charger I think I'd have to do it like the one in Bullitt, but that's just me .
