  1. If we were going to compete in true Dukes style, we'd grab some bows and arrows and head for the outhouse. LOL.
  2. You know, I had a co-worker that was a pretty good pool hustler, played pool all the time. Had her own custom pool cue in a fancy case and everything. She said we could play slop because she figured I needed an advantage to beat her. When I sank a double bank shot, she "forgot" we were playing slop and said it didn't count because I hadn't called it. LOL. Too bad, it counted. She was miffed I beat her and demanded a rematch, which she lost. I was always pretty good at geometry. But, you know what I was much better at than pool? Pinball. I spent much of my youth in a local bowling alley playing pinball and bowling. Now... you sure you want a rematch?
  3. My Dukes of Hazzard fantasy is to be in a position of authority with an overinflated sense of self-importance... just like Rosco. Oh, wait. I'm livin' the dream too!
  4. You were always a nut. You just gradually became a Hazzard Nut.
  5. Thanks, MaryAnne. Yes, we try to keep politics off of HazzardNet because we like it to be a place for us to escape all the bad crap going on in the world.
  6. Try it now. It's unavailable to new users until they make a certain number of posts or until we determine they aren't spammers. I've upgraded you to "regular" user.
  7. Happy Birthday, Brian! Hope you had a good one. I would think this cake would be more your style...
  8. We have a dog named Sadie and there was Sadie Hogg's Day on the show. Does that count? LOL.
  9. Well, durn. I seem to have misplaced my big binder o' 8x10's. I did find a cropped version online, but I'm not sure it's high quality enough for your purposes. I know Jimmie has it available for purchase on his website.
  10. I have the photo used for the poster Jesse's standing next to. Lemme see if I can find it and I'll post it here.
  11. Since you're a Pirate fan, Rog, you probably know of Jason Kendall. I went to school with him (though didn't know him all that well), who started off his MLB career as a catcher for the Pirates. He was also briefly with the Cubs and the Brewers. I'm going to root for a Rangers vs. Brewers World Series. Neither team has a World Series win, so if they both get in, we'll have one less team that has never won.
  12. Congrats, i1976, on a well deserved Fan of the Month!
  13. If he keeps this up, he's gonna earn himself another Fan of the Month. LOL. As for Castaic Junction, I'm familiar with the area. My brother and I often went trout fishing at Castaic Lake, usually at the Afterbay (Lagoon), but occasionally at the lake itself up behind the dam (where you have to be more careful because there're rattlers there). When I saw that sign while watching the episode, I knew exactly where that was. On one particular trip, we had to make an emergency trip to the Ralph's just off The Old Rd for water. We'd both brought a liter with us, but it was so hot out that wasn't enough. Uncle Jesse would've loved it there, plenty of crawdads for his bisque! Which, incidentally, also make great bait for bass fishing. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant in that picture was long gone by the time we made regular trips there.
  14. I had some free time and decided to make a Boss Hogg "default" Facebook avatar. If I have time to make some more, I will. In the meantime, if any of you artistes want to take a crack at making your own of the other characters, feel free to post them here!
  15. You should feel more sorry for me, Garrett. Mariners... last place in the AL West. Ugh. LOL.
  16. Well, shucks... LOL. Thanks. We do our best to make HNet the kinda place we, as loyal Dukes fans, would like to hang out and well, turns out lots of other Dukes fans like to hang out here too. I'm gonna pick up a couple copies of HRM tomorrow... one to read, one to put in plastic to preserve. Oh, and maybe one to take apart to frame artistically and hang on the wall. Khee! It truly is an honor and a thrill for HazzardNet to be mentioned by Hot Rod magazine. When I told my dad, he was really excited. Mom's gonna pick up a copy for him. He's the one responsible for my love of cars and Dukes of Hazzard (we used to watch the original run together when I was little), so in some small way he's partly responsible for HazzardNet.
  17. Welcome back! I hope you're recovering well from surgery.
  18. Thanks for the link, Hoss! Made my day to see HazzardNet mentioned by Hot Rod magazine!
  19. Hey, welcome back, Cap'n! Long time no see. That's a tough one, I love the General AND the Bandit. Bein' a Trans Am owner makes it even tougher. But I'll have to go with the General Lee.
  20. I'd heard about that a while back, but forgot to post about it. Thanks for posting that.
  21. I'd put a value of $200-250 on it, but realistically, it's whatever someone's willing to pay. Just Denver and Sorrell's autographs alone are probably worth $80-100 together. I'd keep it though. =) Value also depends on if the autographs are personalized to someone. If they are, it'd be worth less than if they weren't.
  22. Nice! Looks like a great time for car buffs. And I love the backdrop of the castle. I wonder if any of my ancestors lived there. LOL.
  23. Two people from the agency I worked for at the time, the Defense Logistics Agency, were on planes that hit the towers. I didn't know them personally, but some of my co-workers did. My dad was at the WTC weeks before the 1993 bombing. He knew people who worked at 6 World Trade Center, the US Customs House, when it was destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. I'm just glad my dad retired the year before 9/11. Psalm 27.
  24. I woke up to the news on my clock radio that a plane had hit one of the towers. Having had a lifelong love of airplanes and having spent most of my career to that point related to aircraft, I didn't think it was an accident. When I turned on the tv and saw the second plane hit, I knew we were under attack. I called into work to see what the situation was. I worked in a Federal building at the time. They were on complete lockdown and told me not to come in. They only wanted essential personnel (in this case, security) there. I spent the day watching the horrific coverage and praying for those affected by the whole event. We lived near LAX and the city airport was just a few blocks from us, so it was very eery not hearing any aircraft overhead. My parents were supposed to be flying home from visiting my sister in Seattle that day, so needless to say I was very anxious until I heard from them. Since all flights were grounded, they quickly rented a car (before everyone else decided to as well) and drove back home. A friend of mine's parents were supposed to be flying home from Logan Airport in Boston that day and he was extremely upset that he didn't hear from them because one of the planes that hit the towers was out of Logan. He finally heard from them the following day. They were ok and making alternate arrangements to get home. My husband was living in upstate NY at the time and vividly remembers the only planes overhead being fighter jets flying over from the local air base. It was very nerve-wracking for him, as he wasn't fully aware of the extent of the attacks until he got home later that day. I remember all this as if it was yesterday. It's something that is seared into my memory.
