Sorry Redneck Girl...I missed you and now it is too late. I gotta get ready for bed for work tomorrow. *sighs* oh well I guess. LOL. Hope you had a good weekend .

I thought of you last night while watching the race in Atlanta - when Carl Edwards went into the garage and was having a bad night. That's a bummer he had a rough night for you, Martin did pretty well though and Jr didn't have a great finish, but he was up there for most of the race. Hopefully Edwards will have a better race come Saturday night and all. At least he is out there racing, still don't see how he can be out there racing with a broken foot -what a bad time for that to happen. I remember a couple of years ago when Jimmie Johnson broke his hand goofing off on a golf cart, but luckily for him and his fans that had been after the season had ended.
What you think of the race after the fact of Carl having a rough night? If you are anything like me, it is hard to watch a race when your driver is out of the race or wayyyy back there. I have a better time watching if he is way back there, have a difficult time sitting and watching a whole race or part of a race without Gordon in it. Even though I do have Johnson to go for as well - it's just not the same to me. Was bummed out about Johnson's troubles as well - it was odd on how a lot of the chase contenders were having a hard time last night. Stewart didn't have the best car, Johnson was in the garage part of the night as was Edwards and Kurt Busch.
LOL here is another message for you to read when you get home - you are going to be feeling as if you are about to read a book when you log in and see how many messages I've sent you. Feel free to tell me to just shut up. LOL. Maybe I should start a thread or a club. Hmmmm maybe a club would do better? What you think?

And oh yeah - it is great that there are drivers with great attitudes as Edwards and Ambrose. Gordon and Johnson has great attitudes as well. I would much rather see that than some of the other attitudes that other drivers have. I felt bad for Ambrose, but am happy to see him doing so well and being competitive and all.

*Sings "Dust on the Bottle"* It's a great song. LOL. It would be great to see him in concert, even better to see Toby. Would love to see Toby again in concert.
Well like I said, it was just another fan that had predicted that Gordon would retire because of his back. It is nothing official and Gordon hasn't said anything about retiring - in fact the last I heard him talk about it, he said he wanted to be racing long enough so that his daughter Ella would remember him racing. As of now she is only two years old and a couple months. So hopefully that means he has a while to go, I hope that his back pain will go away completely - so he isn't in any pain and that he can continue to race. I'd be so lost without him - NASCAR to me wouldnt' be the same.
Jimmie Johnson is number 48 of the Lowe's silver and blue car. He's my second in line in my line of favorites, so I would have someone to go for. Gordon owns part of Johnson's car, so even if Gordon does retire, I'd still be going for his protoge/his driver.
Oooo a NASCAR club, sounds fun and interesting .

As I said earlier, I work in a day care. It was kind of funny because there was a kid there that I got close to and his parents are NASCAR fans. His mom told me she couldn't stand Gordon because he wins too much (as if that's a bad thing. . .LOL) Anyways, her favorite driver was or is Dale Jr (I think she was a Dale Sr fan) and dad's favorite driver is Martin - I got the child and his older brother going for J. Gordon. (Oops did I do that?) Now onto my two year old neice...LOL.
Not so much a fan of the car of tomorrow or of today now either, they dont' seem like they go so fast. But it is good that they have the safety upon it as they do. . .especially after seeing how bad of accidents Gordon has gotten into the last couple of years as well as other drivers.
I think the drivers should have enough insentive to win than to rely on more points to motivate them. The who points system frustrates me on how it is set upt just because if someone has a bad year but has a few wins, then they are placed on top in the points (such as Busch and Martin - though Martin has had a decent year). Where as other drivers who have had great years, but not as many wins get shuffled down and then forth. But that is my opinion...which could be very well tainted by the fact that the new point system has robbed Gordon of at least two championships since it has been implanted. But it does what it is suppose to do and that is to make it interesting and exciting...as long as your driver is in the chase that is.
Two more days to Atlanta. Am looking forward to it...am going through my NASCAR withdrawl . . .LOL.Well I guess I watched the Nationwide Series race, but still, there is no Gordon or Johnson or Jr in those. LOL Hopefully all our drivers have a good race under the lights...am excited if you can't tell. First time for a night race in Atlanta. Who knows...perhaps Bo and Luke will be in the grandstands LOL
Truck Series Race...I know a few of the drivers, but can't think of their names off the top of my head. There was a driver...Ron Hornaday I think it is that won five races in a row a few weeks ago in the truck series. Kyle Busch drives in them every once a while. Like I said, I don't really watch that race or the Nationwide race, but have caught a few laps here and there and usually see who wins when I go onto NASCAR.com.
Edwards would be a natural choice for you to chose him being from so close to you. Plus he seems to be a great guy and a good driver to boot for you to go for. I often say he is my favorite un-Hendrick Driver. LOL. I think it is him and Ambrose now that I like after my Hendrick boys. There was a guy named Cassil that drove in the Nationwide Series race that was from Iowa (where I am from) but haven't really seen his name this year so I really don't know what happened to him.
It is kinda sad how I picked Gordon to be my favorite...when I first started thinking I should get into it due to the Dukes, I was all about who was cute and so forth. (very sad, I know) Anyways, I got People's 50 Sexiest men or something like that and Gordon was in it...thought he was cute and was excited to see that he won championships and he drove a Chevy. At the time for some reason a Chevy was important and that he won was as well (I am a die hard Chicago Cubs fan -they've had a few good past seasons - but have the nickname as the loveable losers). So that was a plus that he would win as well...very sad on how I came to chose him to be my favorite, but trust me, it has come to be so much more than what it had started out to be. If that makes sense.
Well thanks for putting up with my novel long messages here about NASCAR. I love talking about it, but really don't have very many people to talk about it to. Other than my parents who are probably sick and tired of hearing about it. A thread or a club may be a good idea, but it would still be good (at least to me) to keep messaging like this! (If that makes sense as well) The book sounds very interesting! I love to read, sadly I don't have much time to read - you must be a fast reader to read a book in a week. I have never done that.

Thank-you for your reply, I enjoyed reading your post you sent me or message. I am the opposite. I don't have cable at my apartment so I go to my parents house (ten minutes away) to stay the weekend so I can wash my clothes, play with their dogs, and watch the race. LOL. Oh and Numb3rs every Friday night - though for the last four weeks they've hand a football game on instead of Numb3rs. ERRRRRRRRRRR Very frustrated about that. ANyways. . .

Oooo a NASCAR post/thread...that'd be interesting to see what others would say. Though there once upon a time was a NASCAR thread here that I did post on until someone starting dissing Gordon and saying stuff about him that got me upset. But it would be interesting to see what others would have to say...or a club type thing that they have here. Whatdya think? LOL
-
Know how that may go. Glad Scott backed you up.
Well I best go find something to eat and perhaps get something done. Hope you have a good night and a better day tomorrow
-
Yeah I was. Sorry to give you a hard time...especially when you had a long day. I hope tomorrow will be better for you.
-
Sorry? I was just giving you a hard time. Sorry that you thought I wasn't upset. What am I to be upset at? I was giving you a hard time as I was when I asked you to do my chores..
-
Hey you're the one complaining you were bored...figured if you were doing some of my chores around my apartment, you wouldn't be bored any more. I just figured I was trying to help you out...but I guess with that attitude of your's, I will no longer attempt to help you out. LOL May Rosco cuff and scuff you!
-
That's a bummer. I have so much I should be doing and yet here I am on the computer. SHAME ON ME! Wanna do it all for me? LOL
-
PS: Sorry my post was that loooooooooooooong. I hope I didn't bore you! As I said, once I get started talking racing, I can't shut up! LOL. Thanks for listening!

Thanks for your response. That is what I figure to about the sport, that there is forty-three drivers that drive on any certain race and everyone has their own favorite drivers and their own least favorite drivers. Just as long as people are respectful about other people's favorite driver while discussing it and all. There is nothing more frustrating to have someone sit there and diss Gordon to me or in front of me - I find myself getting very defensive about it for some reason. If all that makes sense. I just didn't want you think I was doing that about Kurt. LOL - I would kinda question someone liking Kyle B. myself, queitly too. Though I dont' know anyone who does, everyone I talk to says they don't like him. Most people I know that likes racing like JR or Edwards. LOL. My grandpa and a few kids that I have watched over the years (I work in a day care) are the only other Gordon fans - and my parents I guess. Most likely all because I like him -all my positive influence I have on people. LOL
CONGRATULATIONS on winning the tickets for the truck race! I hope you have fun at it. I have only seen half of a truck race or something like that. They are racing here in Iowa at Rusty's track in Newton this Saturday.
I am excited about SUnday night's race. I love night racing. SOmething different and exciting about it. Am really hoping Gordon has a great race since he had such a bad time at Bristol - well I always hope he has a good race. Anyways - I hope your drivers have a good race as well.
I like the top twelve drivers that are in right now for the most part. Hopefully it stays this way come chase time. Don't like the point system...just because if Kyle Busch gets in - with all his wins - he'll be tied for first with Mark Martin. Well that's not the only reason, but that is what I am worried about now. He is only forty some points behind twelveth position right now. I know that is bad of me to think that way...LOL
Did you watch the Nationwide Series race last week? I normally don't watch it, but without our race on, I had to watch something. LOL. It was a good one. Your man Edwards won...because Ambrose wheel hopped on the last turn on the last lap. He had been leading most of the race except for a few laps here and there. I was hoping for one of those two to win, but after Ambrose leading after all that time, it was sad to see him lose it. Ambrose has such a great attitude...as does Edwards. Ambrose is always smiling it seems. (Well there is my two cents on last weeks race. LOL.)
