Well I am glad that it was someone you knew and the kind of track that you would know. Perhaps that helped lead you into NASCAR. The battle between Montoya and Ambrose was good...I was really bummed when Ambrose had troubles at the end there. I was really hoping that Ambrose would have pulled it off to win the race. It wasn't to be I guess. I hope that you will be able to catch more races or race reviews in the future.

Looks like Kasey Kahne will be driving one of the Red Bull cars next year. Kasey Kahne has signed a contract to drive for Rick Hendrick in 2012 when Mark Martin's contract ends...he'll be in the number five car. Rick has been working hard to get Kahne a ride for next year since his contract for Richard Petty Racing expires or ends at the end of this year. Right now Red Bull Racing has two cars / drivers and it is unclear as of now which car Kahne will be driving...either 82 of Scott Speed or 83 of Brian Vickers who has been out with blood clotts until at least the end of the year. He won't know until Novemeber if he'll be able to return next season or not. Speed's contract ends at the end of this year, but read Red Bull has a lot invested in Speed or something of the sort. Some odd info...Kasey drove a Dodge last year, a Ford this year, will be driving a Toyota next year, and in 2012 he will be driving a Chevy. Guess he'll know which manufacturear he likes the best when all this gets sorted out.

I have a correction...the Kansas track will be getting a second cup race in 2011 or asked for a second cup race and it is Kentucky track that will be the new track in the Cup series schedule for 2011. I mixed the two up which is why it wasn't making much sense to me...LOL. Sorry for the wrong info I gave out!

In other news...Jeff Gordon and his wife are now parents of two! Gordon's wife, Ingrid, gave birth to their new son this morning (Monday, August 9, 2010). Baby Leo Benjimen Gordon is healthy and happy, mom is doing well too. My congrats go out to Jeff and Ingrid and to their daughter Ella Sofia (though I doubt they will read it here...) on their new addition. I can now let out a big sigh of relief because Jeff Gordon will be heading out to Michigan later this week to participate in all racing events at the track. I was worrying the last couple of weeks that she'd deliver on the weekend and he'd have a replacement driver drive for him. I still don't know how that works out with points since I always thought that the driver had to start the race in order to get the points...am interested to know how'd that work out, but am glad I don't have to learn how that works out with Gordon. It'd just be wrong to see anyone BUT Gordon drive the Dupont 24 car.

I don't have a lot of detail or a lot of news at this point, but it looks like next year's schedule is going to have some big changes to them. I am excited and sad about it at the same time. Looks like the Kansas track will be getting a race or perhaps two (wasn't sure if they meant they'd get one there or two by the article title.) next year while they are taking out one of the Atlanta races. Am looking forw ard to seeing what Kansas' track looks like and to see how Gordon and the rest will drive there, but am sad to see them taking out an Atlanta race. Atlanta isn't neccessarily my favorite track or race, but I like it all the same. And instead of starting the chase in New Hampshire where I think it has always been started at, it will be started at ChicagoLand Speedway in Joliet Ill - where they normally race in July. I am the most excited about the Chicago race for several reasons...that is one of my favorite tracks/races and it is the closest to me and I think it to be exciting and huge to have the chase start there! (Plus I have been to the track...though not for a race.) I read that Chicago is the second largest media market that is on the Sprint Cup tour...so I am sure they are trying to pull in more viewers and more people to the track since the numbers have been way low the last couple of years. (NASCAR is working on fixing up the chase as well, but has yet to come out with any more details as to what...you ask me, they should just discard the chase and go back to the old point system. Though I can garauntee you that will NOT happen. That's only my opinion...)

Well I originally came on here to reanswer this question before noticing my mistake on my last answer and got side tracked...LOL. Dale Jr is now in 16th spot and around 190 points behind the twelve spot. The races are winding down...he has four races to go before the field is set. I am starting to believe his chances of making it is next to none right now. I'm not saying that there is absolutely no way he can make it, but unless he starts winning the next several races and a few drivers in the lower half of the top twelve have horrible next few races, he will be out of the chase for this year. He will be one of the many drivers racing for the 13th position to take home a million dollars. Being a fan, that is discouraging and disappointing, until I look back at last year where he finished 25th in points...he is at least doing better this year than last year. This is where he can work on how to get him, the car, and the team better for next year so hopefully they will have a better chance of making the chase.

OK I am like the dumbest person, Roger...I apologize, I totally read your question wrong. I thought you were asking about pit road speeds for some dumb reason. This is where I give you permission to hit me...just not too hard. So, I will now try to answer the question rightfully this time. I am looking it up right now, I really didn't pay much attention to speed yesterday. Carl Edwards got the pole by going 124.432 in qualifying. Took him seventy seconds to pull it off. The fastest all time lap at the Glen was Mark Martin going 103.9 in 1995. The slowest record is held by Kyle Petty going 50.879 in 1992. That didn't exactly answer your question about the average speed, Roger...I apologize. That is about the closest I had found with speed on a site that had info about every little thing or stats of the race and track. Though didn't look up Infineon...Though I can sum it up, not as fast as they run on an oval track. Looking at Edwards' qualifying run there, they must run faster by themselves than with other cars around on the road race, would be interesting to look and see if the same would be true with ovals. Guess it'd make sense since there would be no one in their way and all.

Marcos Ambrose won the Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen Saturday, followed by Joey Lagano. There was a ten car pile up that looked kinda scary of the little footage they showed on the prerace show of the Spint Cup race at the Glen. Here is the top ten race after Saturday's race: 1. I agree with you Roger. I don't know how Boris Said didn't know Stewart was there, especially how he did seem to be shoving Stewart off the track. Can't say I blame Stewart for doing what he did...anyone else would have done the same thing if Said did the same to them. Don't have nothing against Boris Said, but I am with Stewart on how it went down and he did what he had to do. Sadly I now also agree with you about JJ and Hamlin as well. At the time it was easy for me to be upset at Hamlin for running into Johnson like that, but he had no way of knowing that Johnson was there. That was disappointing for them both. If Kyle Busch didn't go and make it three wide like that, Burton wouldn't have bumped JJ to start it all...but as they say, what's done is done. We are off to Jeff Gordon's favorite track next Sunday...Michigan.

Hmm that's a good one Roger. Today's pit road speed for Watkin's Glen wasn't the fastest...it was 35 MPH which seems slow, but the road courses races themselves are slower than normal with all the turns. Most of them are 55 to 65 MPH. I'll have to check up on the specifics of that one!

Has to be close enough...Hazzardnet seems to be one big family with a variety of different names.

Well the race at Watkins Glen has just gotten over with. Did anyone else get to watch it? The first half was uneventful but the last third or so of the race was interesting to watch. Kyle Busch started his race in the pits even before the green flag first flew with something wrong underneath his car...can't remember seeing that before. Though he did salvage a top ten finish at the end of the race. Juan Pablo Montoya and Marcos Ambrose spent the day fighting for first place...Montoya led the most laps and won the race. Ambrose had trouble restarts and had something amiss with his car at the very end to finish third after Kurt Busch who had his best road race finish for his career. Tony Stewart who in the past six races at this track has finished first or second ended that trend, but did get a top ten finish as well. At the last two thirds of the race, he was racing Boris Said for nineth when Boris Said (said he didn't know Stewart was there) tried to take Stewart's outside lane and Stewart ended up spinning and taking Boris out of the race. Jimmie Johnson had a troublesome race again today. He had tire issues in the first half of the race. He then raced his way to nineth. (This was a few laps after Stewart's accident.) Johnson was racing Jeff Burton when Kyle Busch pulled up besides Burton to race Burton and gave Burton no where to go and he spun Jimmie Johnson. Johnson hit the wall and put a bit cloud of smoke around...Denny Hamlin didn't see where he was going and hit Johnson hard to take him out of the race.
