  1. Thanks Hoss. We were pretty much raised on animals my dad killed and also stuff out of the garden and woods so didn't get a lot of food or culture from other places. My mom made the best lemon meringue pies though and she got all those ingredients from the store, except the eggs.
  2. Mel TTTTillis (Off the subject....Happy TRICK or TREAT TONIGHT everybody)
  3. "California is the place ya wanna be" is what they said back when Beverly Hillbillies was being filmed. Now, everybody wants to be anywhere but California.
  4. I haven't laughed that loud in awhile. The 3 rivers that go through Pittsburgh are all wide enough to have islands in the middle of them....Maybe I should book myself. I could be "little buddy" if we get marooned. (Although I would prefer professor)
  5. Now I'm hungry. Are chutneys what we call jelly? What about curry? I thought that was a spice. Is meringue what we call pie? Still not feeling any better or worse today. My wife is better. I won't keep the daily reports up.... and from now on will only post about it if there is a change.
  6. That sounds like a great souvenir from what will be a great trip!
  7. This has been my best day all week but it has been my wife's worst. If she follows my path, she has 2 more tough days ahead of her. Beautiful weather we're having. We're so bummed out we had to cancel our big Halloween party.
  8. We went on it once. It was a dinner cruise and was really good. Are you going on a dinner cruise or just a cruise without a meal? Are you doing it before winter or is this a 2023 thing?
  9. I hope your dad improves. Keep us posted. How old is he? Glad to hear your wife is good enough to go back to work. Overtime is never much fun though.
  10. I was surprised that he WAS still alive. It's so hard to keep track of older entertainers unless you are a fan who puts in the effort.
  11. I was pretty stable the last few days but took a turn for the worse today. I guess I was pretty spoiled in July 2020 with only mild symptoms.
  12. RICKY the RACCOON (Jesse's pet on the cartoon)
  13. Thanks Hoss. In the interview John called it "Orange Friday" and said that was a reference to his car from the Dukes of Hazzard.
  14. I just saw Bo on "The Faulkner Focus" promoting his new movie "To Die For". It is a patriotic themed movie and looks really good. Maybe someone could post a link on how to get it. It was pretty interesting to hear him explain why Hollywood doesn't put out movies like this and why it is so important that they do get out in some other way. Hollywood has been corrupt for awhile now. Even James Best mentioned it when they moved Dukes out of Georgia. I think he called it a sewer. They claim to love diversity but ignore half of America. A big yeehaww goes out to John for recognizing that.
  15. Thanks Hoss. Still feel pretty much the same. I do feel some improvement but it might be psychological. Maybe I'm just getting used to the symptoms. But thermometers don't have psychology clouding their judgment and mine is telling me my fever has passed so progress is being made. We have a Halloween party planned for Saturday so that's not looking good.
  16. Caught covid again. I had it in July 2020 and this is the second time. It's different. Last time was 2 weeks of mild symptoms. This hit hard and fast. It's been over 24 hours now and the symptoms have stabilized. If anything, I feel a little better. Mostly have chest congestion and coughing and get the chills on occasion. We traveled Fri-Sun so probably caught it on the trip. My wife tested negative. More bad news: the neighbor lady died. They have been my only neighbors since I bought my property in 1979 at 19 years old so they are like family. He is already talking about selling the house so I guess new neighbors are in my future. I hope they are Dukes fans.
  17. It's always fun to watch another project get started. Thanks for sharing it.
