  2. For the past week Jesse had made sure he was in the barn when the mail was delivered. Today was no exception as he tightened up the last bolt of the rebuilt starter starter he had just installed on the tractor. From a distance he could hear the revving of Miz Emma Tisdale's two stroke dirt bike and he got excited and walked briskly to the mailbox. Moments later she slammed on her brakes in front of him creating a dust cloud that made him lightly cough. "Emma, yer gonna git killed on this thing some day." She took off her helmet and smiled, "Well, if you'll take me to the barn dance on Saturday night I reckon I'll die happy." He shook his head no. "Now Emma I ain't got time fer no barn dance 'er any other kinda dance fer that matter. Now I just need my mail." "Now don't get all bent out of shape you old ridge runner, Jesse Duke" She reached in her pouch and pulled out three envelopes and handed them to him. "What in the world is it you're waiting for? You've been out here every day lately just a waiting on me." Jesse flipped through the envelopes and looked disappointed "Dag nabit. It ain't here again. It's a week late now." Emma remarked, "Well, I think I might know what it is you're looking for and I'll be a keeping an eye out for you." She slipped the helmet back on, popped the clutch and road a wheelie, throwing dust in Jesse's face as she rode off. Jesse coughed again then said to himself "Now how could it be that Emma knows what it is I'm a waiting fer? "
  3. Susan, when Garrett and I did our role plays we had to occasionally send each other a PM if things got off track or too confusing. That way the readers couldn't tell that we were struggling with the direction we were going. So keep an eye on your private messages. In general though it's fun to have no idea what the next person is going to post so 99% of the time we'll keep it unpredictable. I'll get things started tomorrow and the insanity can begin.
  4. surfing
  5. Tom Selleck
  6. I'll get it started then but before I do I'll wait until tomorrow to see if anyone else wants to get involved. Even if they don't now they could jump in anytime. This is going to be fun.
  7. beard (Santa, Uncle Jesse and Charlie Daniels...my role models)
  8. Christmas (In sure missing the tree my wife just took down)
  9. Please go to "Role playing-Original characters" and check out the style in "Mystery in Hazzard Swamp" that I did with Garrett and let me know if you like that style of role playing. I've only done a couple of them so you're probably way more experienced. If you like the way that one was set up I hope we can figure out something out. Is there a particular theme for a story you like?
  10. I'd like to keep it in the early 1980s era and use just characters from the show but if we want to bring folks in from out of town who have never appeared on an episode that could be fun and creative. Do you like to play a particular character? I'd like to have the vast majority of my writing be from Uncle Jesse's perspective but I'm flexible. What do you think?
  11. summer (it's 9 degrees Fahrenheit here on Lake Erie right now so it's not exactly summer)
  12. Hey Susan, and others, would you be interested in starting a role play? I did a couple when Garrett Duke was around and they're pretty fun.
  13. LOL No problem there with my wife of 20 years. By the way, her name is Susan.....no kidding....it really is!
  14. A friend of mine was also born on New Year's Day. He was born the day Rick turned 3.
  15. Happy birthday to both Bosses.
  16. Monster (cookie monster)
  17. I'm embarrassed that I didn't know. Thanks for educating me. I guess the Dukes version would be Jesseklaas.
  18. Hmmmm....what is Sinterklaas?
  19. Christmas (hung by the chimney with care)
  20. I bet you're thinking of"Opening Night at the Boar's Nest." It's the very last episode made and is in seaon 7. I love your enthusiasm Susan.
  21. Better late than never LOL Better late than never. As I recall My grandparents told me that folks never used to put their trees up until Christmas Eve.....then it became an after Thanksgiving thing (USA) and now we're starting to focus on Christmas after Halloween. A lot of folks don't like it popping up so early but I love Christmas so much I don't complain. In fact, I like it.....but Christmas ads before Halloween are a bit early though.
  22. My wife always takes them down too early. If I would have married Gretchen Wilson the "Red neck Woman" we'd "leave my Christmas lights out my front porch all year long" (why does spell check separate red and neck then make it so I can't correct it? Don't those folks know it's one word?)
  23. table (nice to hear from you again Susan)
  24. Buzzards on a buzz saw. Cletus has another birthday. It must be New Year's Day again.
  25. Who else gets the post Christmas blues? When those decorations start to come down (usually Jan 2) I start to get a little depressed.
