  1. This has come up before and as I recall Hoss posted info about the kid. You're right about the episode name though. It is A Boy's Best Friend
  2. That's a cool story Hobie. He put on an awesome concert here in Erie Pennsylvania. He sure is a great entertainer. I don't think he noticed my 01 hat but if he did he didn't acknowledge it. Even though we had fifth row seats there was a standing room section in front of us so we weren't as close as I thought we'd be.
  3. We're off to an Alan Jackson concert tonight and have 5th row seats on the floor in front of the stage. I'm not a huge fan but my wife is. I just became a bigger fan a few minutes ago when I checked wickapedia and found out he was raised dirt poor in Georgia. I'm wearing my 01 hat and orange Dukes shirt just in case he notices....they are bright colors after all....and the hat was signed by another Georgia boy, Sonny Shroyer. I'll just bet ya that 'ole Alan is a Dukes fan.
  4. K-Duke and country girl are hanging out again! Life is good!
  5. Baa Baa WHITE Sheep
  6. Dukes OF Hatchapee.....(thank goodness they didn't lose the farm)
  7. MABEL Wooster MARRIED Emery Potter.
  8. Shucks. You're probably right. I still look at it as progress though.
  9. This may sound silly but I have written in my Dukes journal every time I hit another thousand posts here on the HN in the last decade. Clearly I have slowed down. It took nearly 4 years to get this last thousand. 1000 Feb 2008.......2000 Sept 2008.....3000 June 2009 4000 Dec 2009.........5000 Aug 2010......6000 March 2011 7000 Aug 2012........8000 Nov 2013......9000 Sept 2017
  10. "Ain't IT nice to know that there' a place IN this old world where things never change." ---Waylon from "By-Line Daisy Duke"
  11. When you look at the many ways rock music has split in 50 years country music hasn't done much except drop the western in county western. I think it's due for a split though. They need to label some of this stuff county-pop and get it off the radio stations that are calling themselves country. If you want to call yourself country you need to stop playing some of that stuff. Folks like me have stopped listening.

  13. Belated happy birthday on Saturday cousin. We know you've fallen on some tough times but we love you and we're wishing you the best. Now get out there and get back on your feet. That's how things are done here in Hazzard.
  14. I agree 100%. I'm trying to look at the bright side though. The stupid politically correct ban has been lifted. This may lead to a dream come true....the original series making it back to some other channel. Maybe the executives of CMT will sit in a meeting and say " If ABC can run that stupid movie we should put the original series back on. "

  16. The CANTERBURY CROCK
  17. It never happened. Coverage from Hurricane Irma has taken over all the networks. I can understand that. It is good though knowing that there is hope for the Dukes to be on again. Hopefully it will be the real Dukes but I guess you have to start somewhere.
  18. I was just flipping through the guide on my Dish Network and noticed that ABC is airing Dukes at 2:00 Today (eastern standard time). The bad news is that it's the Johnny Knoxville version so I won't be watching it. The great news is that one of the three major networks seems to have gotten the ball rolling again. If they can have the courage to do this maybe we'll see someone pick up the original series! I'm excited! There is now hope that sanity is being restored!
  19. The deaths of these guys is very sad. I saw Montgomery Gentry in concert in Meadville Pennsylvania several years ago. I never saw Don Williams but I remember well when he his career was at its peak. His voice was certainly special.
  20. The creamated ASHES of Boss's mama are in a racing trophy AWARDED yearly AT the Obstacle Derby.

  24. I've lived in the same area my whole life and would never consider moving. In fact, I live less than a mile from my parents who thankfully are still kicking. If I didn't have so many deep roots here in northwestern Pennsylvania I definitely would move to as close as I could to the original Duke farm. The grandson of the guy who owned that place used to be here on the HN. I bought a few small pieces of boards from the house when they tore it down. You're right though. You have to work with what you have. Hazzard is a state of mind not a county.
