I'm one of those people born late into the Baby Boom. We're the folks who live comfortably and run the national debt up to twenty trillion dollars then die and pass the bill on to our children.....and if the economy doesn't collapse completely because of it they will pass 40 trillion on to our grandchildren.
If you missed Dukes you had to wait a whole week but it was really bad if you missed Grinch or Great Pumpkin because that meant you had to wait a whole year!
I remember It well ......at the end of each episode watching the General and the cop car running in a circle while the credits ran. It was satisfying that I just saw another great episode but also pretty sad that I had to wait a whole week to see Hazzard County again. It wasn't a new feeling to me. When I was younger I used to feel that way at noon on Saturday knowing I had to go a whole week before I saw another cartoon. Those emotions sure made me appreciate those shows more. I think today's kids will never experience that since they can see anything anytime. That's a nice thing to have but taking things for granted isn't good.
Every time somebody who was on the show passes on to Hazzard Heaven it hurts. I was lucky to meet him a couple summers ago when he was at a stunt show with Byron Cherry. He will be missed.
Hazard made the national news today because the Energy Secretary was there to announce easing of rules that restricted the use of coal in making electricity. Hazard is a coal town and will benefit from the new rules so that's why it was announced there. I remember when the cast of Dukes went there to help with a fundraiser when miners were trapped. At the time the show was in its heyday so it was a pretty big national story.
I sure wish I could help John but I will say this....it's good to see you care enough to take something like this on. Good luck and we hope to hear from you some more.
I have to admit Hoss, you're right. My apologies. I am just so mad I couldn't help it. Infecting HazzardNet with this nonsense wasn't so smart. Maybe MM will delete it. Thanks for correcting me. It is greatly appreciated.I will think twice the next time.
