  1. It's sure awesome to see all these Dukes marathons lately on CMT. I don't know if it's a result of losing Rosco or not but if it's a tribute I thank them very much. Even if it's not a tribute I thank them very much.
  2. Happy birthday April 17 cousin Coy. I sure enjoyed meeting you last summer!
  3. BLT sandwich (for you folks across the big pond the B stands for bacon)
  4. Thanks Hobie. I don't even like the new Auto Trader commercials. Okay, I have to admit I do love seeing Bo and Luke in the General Lee. What's not to love about that? It doesn't bother me that they look older. What I don't like is that they trade in their 1969 Charger. That would be like trading in Uncle Jesse for Willie Robertson. I love Willie and everybody on Duck Dynasty but Jesse can't be replaced.
  5. My eyes light up every time I'm flipping though the guide channel and see them coming on! Thanks CMT!
  6. I guess I'll have to start accepting that Jimmie is gone but part of me doesn't have to believe it at all. I watched the reunion movie once but I'll never see it again. Besides things like the General Lee being forgotten in a chicken coup and a frail Jesse being abandoned by Bo, Luke and Daisy the other thing that bothered me was the scene where Rosco did a tribute to Boss, who had passed on. I couldn't handle that. I'm sure the writers had good intentions but that is not the Hazzard County that I have known and loved these past 36 years. My Hazzard County hasn't changed a bit. In my Hazzard County Boss is still scheming in his office at the Boar's Nest. Jesse is out plowing the back 40 with Maudeen the mule right now. Miz Tisdale is admiring him from afar as she sits on her dirt bike at the mailbox. And Rosco is yelling at his dipstick deputies on the CB because they let the Duke boys past the speed trap. To me that's reality.
  7. Welcome to the HazzardNet HIPCHIP. Thanks for sharing that about Sonny. I met him once and I'm not surprised at your comment. He certainly is the genuine article. If you looked up Southern Gentleman in the dictionary, his picture would be beside the definition as the best example of one.
  8. I agree. In my opinion they were the best comedy duo in history. People who aren't Dukes fans might disagree but the fact that they're not Dukes fans is proof right there that their opinions are a little confused.
  9. It's still sinking in. I was lucky enough to have met him once in person and talk to him a couple times in the chat room here on the HazzardNet! He was truly one of a kind. My condolences go out to his family and fans, especially you Meadowmufn. There will never be another James Best. I love him and will miss him forever.
  10. winner (well, Rosco did have a Rolls Royce patrol car for awhile!)
  11. I'm speechless. I'll post tomorrow. This is difficult.
  12. Sheriff's car (In honor of Rosco....I'll miss you forever)
  13. Bo Duke turns 55 tomorrow (April 8). Think about this for a second. Since Uncle Jesse was born in 1920 he was 59 in 1979 when the show first came out. This means that Bo is only 4 years away from being Jesse's age! By the way, I turn 55 just 7 days after Bo so that's why I think about these things.
  14. It's almost April 8th. That means Bo will be 55 soon. Happy birthday cousin! I turn 55 this month too!
  15. I can't stand The Dukes of Hazzard anymore. In fact, I've grown to hate the show. I've found this new show called Keeping up with the Kardashians that is amazing. I hope they have a KardashianNet because I want to leave here and join that if they do. The Kardashians are a billion times cooler than the Dukes. April Fools. And Happy Sadie Hogg Day!
  16. We hope you had a great birthday Cale. (March 27) Keep it between the ditches buddy!
  17. gators (I live up north so if I put gators in my mote they'd freeze)
  18. I'm guessing that he'd love to have them released since he'd likely get royalties but I suspect they don't think they'd make enough profit. If money was to be made I'm sure Warner Brothers would do it. Of course it may be much more complicated than that. I'm only speculating.
  19. Ben Jones has been in the news lately. In fact he has an editorial in today's USA Today. For those of you across the Atlantic Pond who may not know the history of the Confederate Flag here in the US, it was used by the South in the Civil War back in the mid 1860s and the South wanted to keep slaves (Although there was much more to the war than that). Most people today only view the Confederate Flag as a sign of southern culture and heritage but a few still think it symbolizes slavery and should be banned from society. Ben Jones argues that it doesn't stand for slavery anymore because symbols, words, flags, etc change their meaning sometimes. He also argues that even George Washington owned slaves and we shouldn't outlaw anything affiliated with him. Some people in Texas want to customize their license plates on their vehicles and want to have a small Confederate flag on it but Texas said they couldn't and now the case has gone to the highest court in the land, the U S Supreme Court. Ben Jones is the official spokesman for the group defending the flag. I should probably add that we aren't allowed to inject political views on the HazzardNet and I am simply stating facts and not opinions. If anybody responds to this post please be respectful and realize that the moderators could shut it down if you're not. Thanks
