I just watched two hours of CMAs Country Music Festival last night and I'm more convinced than ever that country music is dead. There were a few exceptions but basically those two hours were a rock/pop festival. Country and Western was what country used to be called but when the western part faded out, the western name was dropped. Marty Robbins was probably the last western singer. I think country should consider changing its name again since only about 20% of it is really "country" and that number drops every year. Thank goodness there's still a few country singers out there. So I just got home from being at our local ammusment park. We went there to get mine and my mom's ID's for work. This is my first job which I'm excited for. I'm a Gopher which means I will take people's places when they need to use the bathroom or go to their breaks. I'm going to be working all fall and I'm at our kids area. This makes me wonder what everyone's first jobs were.

I have recently had a very unfortunate event happen to me. I was a victim of crime. This event has happened to me before and I realize that I need to be more careful, maybe it's a warning from the powers that be that I need to be more careful and less trusting of the world. However... with that being said, I currently work in a line of work that I have to deal with budding criminal minds every day. I have to help them complete their court ordered obligations so they can begin the rehabilitation processes. Now, after being a victim today of crime... I am reminded how different I am from criminal minds and how much the same I am. I want justice to be served, at any cost. …

So me and my brother share a room and it's in the front of our house. Our house is also an apartment. Well our new upstairs neighbor was plunging the bath tub with a plunger and I'm pretty sure that's what made our ceiling leak. It hasn't done it is years. We've had to move so much and put so plastic down. It's horrible. I hate our house. I want to move so badly. I'm like an emotional wreck. Nothings been damaged yet, it's just who I am. Hope that it ends soon. But now I'm going to feel awful in school, all thanks to my neighbors. So has any of ya guys had a house as bad as this?

Today was a crazy day for me. I had a stair give and i fell through. Tore my big toe nail almost all the way off, hurt my leg and bruise my other knee. It looked like the board was rotted because it was soft and pulled away from the other board it was nailed to. I'm ok, have my leg propped up with ice. Has anyone ever had an experience like that?

There have been several broken records across the country due to a heat wave, not to mention severe weather has accompanied it, with more due to occur tonight... It was just a few years ago Europe went through a heat wave like what we are currently experiencing on the Eastern Seaboard. Hey y'all I'm watching a show on tv at the moment that's about what's going to happen on December 21st 2012. Some of it is pretty believable but most of it seems dramatized. Personally I don't think the worlds going to end I'm December but I'm just curious to see what you guys think. It's always interesting to see people's opinions on topics like this.

The word is getting around that TNN will hit the air again this summer. For those of y'all who are too young to remember it, TNN used to carry the Dukes before CMT picked it up. And while CMT has been good to the Dukes - most notably sponsoring DukesFest in 2005 - their programming has been moving into more reality tv and airing of 20-year old movies. I'm back now. I completely missed this place. My life changed a lot while I've been gone, and I've gone through a lot of changes myself. I'm almost at the end of my junior year in high school and I'm 16 now! I remember I signed up here at like 13! Seems so long ago. Yesterday, USA Today did a story about the skyrocketing popularity of reality shows based on rednecks. Some of the shows they mentioned were "Swamp People", "Hillbilly Handfishin'" and "Bayou Billionaires". They mentioned others but you get the idea. I'm thrilled with these new shows. I've seen some of them and I'm excited that they are so popular now. Just curious...does anybody know of anyone who has given up the internet (non-work related) for Lent? I'm wondering, because our volumes are down a little bit over the past week, here at the flagship site and also the FB page. Looks like some other Dukes pages have tapered off too. This lawmaker in Indiana says that we support planed parenthood and encourage sex. This is just stupid. None of it is true. It just makes everyone think we are bad and won't have anything to do with us.
