Dukes of Hazzard News

I see in the paper today that Earle Hagen died. He was a musical legend in television in Hollywood. The list of big-time TV shows Earle and Dean Hagen were involved with is longer than the road from Hollywood to Georgia. You can see his name run on the credits of every episode of Dukes. (or at least I think every episode...maybe someone can confirm that) Thanks for contribution to the greatest show in history, Mr. Hagen!!

James Best, who is best known for playing Rosco P. Coltrane on TV's "The Dukes of Hazzard," will receive the Harvey Award from The Jimmy Stewart Museum. Best, 80, is scheduled to receive the award Oct. 20 at an event hosted by Nick and Nina Clooney. Because Best is also an artist, the museum is hoping to organize a show of his works, said museum executive director Tim Harley. I dont know if anybody else has heard, but I just read at cmt.com that "Good Ol' Boys" has been certified as the first platinum country music ringtone for sales over 1 million! I just think thats so cool!

As many of you probably saw on the news today, a young race horse named Barbaro was mercifully put down by choice of his owners after either long months of fighting to survive a terribly shattered leg. In 2006 this young bay colt won one of the greatest horse races in the world. The Kentucky Derby, he capatured the eye and hearts of horse lovers, young and old. Many horses before him like the great Man O' War and the sweet Secretariat became American Heroes in a time of war and depression.
