Dukes of Hazzard News

I seen something in the newspaper about Waylon's family releasing some of his never before heard music sometime soon. Since my computer skills are bad, maybe somebody here can find it and post a link with more information. It sure would be cool to buy Waylon's new album. It's been a long time since I've done that! Waylon lives!

This makes the third time they are being skipped. Now don't get me wrong I hated the time Tom and John were away too, but they made their choice and did what they felt was right. Having said that it is not fair to the folks that worked on those shows to not have their part of Dukes history shown. CMT needs to rectify this now and give this show proper respect by showing all episodes, evem if they are edited in spots. Robbie

Tom Wopat was just on the tv show Blue Bloods. The episode was titled "Women with Guns". Tom played a producer for a high-profile reporter.

I see in the paper today that Earle Hagen died. He was a musical legend in television in Hollywood. The list of big-time TV shows Earle and Dean Hagen were involved with is longer than the road from Hollywood to Georgia. You can see his name run on the credits of every episode of Dukes. (or at least I think every episode...maybe someone can confirm that) Thanks for contribution to the greatest show in history, Mr. Hagen!!

I heard on the radio this morning that Catherine Bach would be doing a signing in my area (NYC) this weekend (I think it's this weekend), but I can't find anything about it online. Can anyone help me out here? I have a poster that I really want to have her sign. Thanks in advance.

I just saw Bo on "The Faulkner Focus" promoting his new movie "To Die For". It is a patriotic themed movie and looks really good. Maybe someone could post a link on how to get it. It was pretty interesting to hear him explain why Hollywood doesn't put out movies like this and why it is so important that they do get out in some other way. Hollywood has been corrupt for awhile now. Even James Best mentioned it when they moved Dukes out of Georgia. I think he called it a sewer. They claim to love diversity but ignore half of America. A big yeehaww goes out to John for recognizing that.

On April 22nd 2006, Bernadette and Paul, from Toowoomba in Queensland Australia, made the two hour trip to Brisbane, with their brand new General Lee Buggy, to meet John Schneidder. We arrived at about 9:30 am , met Daniel, the organizer and parked The General. Paul blew the Dixie Horn (yes, it has one!) infront of the waiting crowds and they all cheered, which got Paul going! I'm not a Dancing With the Stars fan but my wife is. I've never even heard of most of the "stars" on there. Since my wife watches it I will sit on the couch occasionally with her. Last night was the finals and one of the songs they were playing was California Girls that mentions "Daisy Dukes" shorts. They then immediately went to a commercial and the commercial after that was one of Bo and Luke's AutoTrader commercials. She and Elly had planned on going with John this past weekend to NJ, but that is why they didn't make it. Get ready to call him the "25 Million Dollar Sheriff." James Best is suing Time-Warner/Warner Bros over unpaid royalties. Best claims he was owed 5% of all Dukes of Hazzard merchandising revenue for stuff that contained Sheriff Rosco likeness. By his estimates/his attorney's estimates, that could have been 5 to 25 million during the Dukes heyday alone. Best has actually collected something around $175,000 for this stuff in the last 30 years. I'm working on an HNet homepage update and will supply more details there, but that's the meat n' potatoes of it!

Yes folks it's finally in stores! Dukes of Hazzard: Season One on DVD. I got my copy last night at my local K-mart. Since K-mart has it, I assume that your local Walmart, Target, Meijer or whatever retail chain you prefer to go to, has it for sale. I do know that K-mart had it priced at 29.99 in my area. I don't know what other chains are selling it for but that's the price I paid. I'd imagine that other stores would be in the range of a dollar to five dollars more or less. The Season one set is on two disks. Three eps. to a side of each disk. The case is very brightly colored. I haven't looked at all the features yet but I'll keep you posted on what I find. Do you guys remember the crooked sheriff in Cool Hands Bo and Luke? Cashius Claiborne I think? It seems he was in the original movie, Cool Hands Luke and played a similar part in this TDOH episode. I saw where he died at 93, but can't get the article to copy/paste for some reason. I think he was in one or two other DOH episodes, if I'm not mistaken....

I haven't seen anyone speak of the new calendar yet. It's for 2005 and I found it at http://www.calendars.com/Product.asp?TID={7ECDE07F-B943-43AE-9A23-C4AD375B215F}&PID=1&MGID=-1&IID=15232 I just got mine today...the cover is really nice, but the pictures inside are too similar to last year's calendar, and why aren't there ever any pictures of Enos or Cletus? There is one of Enos in this year's and last...he always gets shafted!
