How many of you belive Ben Jones saw the movie? Considering schnieder approved( mabe he told him about it) and the feed back from fans was good I think he should give it a chance. Besides I havent heard ONE person post somthing along the lines of " gee since Ben Jones says the movie is bad im not going to see it" not one. Just because fans might not agree with every thing thats in the movie dosn't mean where not going to go see it. I think the editors did clean it up a bit. you don't actully see them smoking pot ( this would have upset some people including Ben Jones) and theres no nutiy . the languge isn't as bad as it could have been. Bit off topic, but it was just a gool ol winter country day in canada. Just looking back at the time of the duke boys in the 70's, watching how pure and decent everything was back then i decided to encode some film of my relatives farm through 1950-1977 and little did i know what to find 5 minutes into the flick! Me and a bud were debating this yesterday... Okay, we all remember the Original series where (of course) they had to show the car in mid air in slow motion. it almost seems that they did the same in the new flick? Only for one jump. the last one in the flick actually (off of cooters truck). but why do they seem like there in "Slo-Mo" in the new flick? they just made them bigger! Where my bud argues that they slow-motioned the jumps just as done in the original series. thoughts? im gone. -Brad

I haven't read all through this forum yet so I don't know if this has already been discussed... The pictures are here and here. What do you suppose the story is behind the weird "General Lee" in those pictures? The paint is a lighter orange (looks like it is supposed to be faded?), the wheels are black stamped steel, there is no push bumper, the "01" is in the "wrong" type of font and there doesn't seem to be anything painted on the roof (no flag or "General Lee" text that I can see). It's been widely reported that Ashton Kutcher was gonna have a leading role in the upcoming Dukes movie, but I've come across new information that conflicts with this. Ashton is currently working on another project for Columbia Pictures. The movie is called "The Dinner Party" and went into production 06/21/04. The movie is slated for release next summer, just about when Dukes was supposed to come out. I have mixed feelings about the upcoming movie. I love the original Dukes, but I hate what Hollyweird has been doing to the shows that many of us grew up on. Plus: I like the fact that Burt and Willie are apart of this project. Personally, I think that Burt would have been better as Roscoe and have Mr. Gainey play Boss. Gainey being the serious to Burt's comical side would have worked out better, but I'll give this the benefit of the doubt. The best part of the whole movie will be seeing the General Lee flying through the air. Minuses: Jessica (no talent) Simpson. The music made this film even more fun to watch .. It was like the perfect songs at the perfect time.... 1. Mississippi Queen - Mountain - gave me goosebumps when the General was first born and it's lights came . Then in slow motion with Mississippi Queen famous guitar riff.....Awesome 2. My Wife Thinks Your Dead - Junior Brown - The Balladeer had to have a song in there. Boss Hogg is boiling crawdads and it's the song heard in the background. 3. I saw the cast list for this film the other day and Cletus Hogg,Cherif Little and Miss Tizdale are not on that list . Are they in the film? If so who is playing Them?. Cletus if the only one out of the 3 I would like to be in this film. Maybe he is and I missed that bit of info.

I've got to wonder if Rosco's part in the movie is going to be as big as it was in the movie. The website doesn't have a Rosco wallpaper or buddy icon. All of the reviews posted here doesn't make mention of Rosco's role. Will there be a comedy duo with Boss and Rosco or will he be just a country sheriff under the main antagonist, Boss Hogg?

I know it may be a stunter, but what's up with that wierd roundish number 0 on one of the pics? The only time I vaguely remember seeing that type of 01 was maybe on General Lee race-car for one of those electiric race tracks I had as a kid, but I can't recall for certain. Only thang I can figure is that the movie is using this type of font for long-distance shots of the General, and maybe this 01 somehow looks improved or something. Any comments?

I just got done watching Making the Video on MTV for Jessica Simpson's version of "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" with Willie Nelson. OH MY GOD! This vid is HOT!! Check it out. I think it just premiered tonite (wednesday) and should be on quite a bit over the next couple days. The part of the vid that I saw (I cought only like 60 seconds of it, the last bit), it was her in her Daisy Dukes with a bunch of other Daisy Duked' hot chicks, a bar fight (kind of), and her dancing VERY scandaliously in front of 'ol General Lee.
