Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion

Despite the absence of John and Tom, I have to say storywise, this was a very good season. Still though, doesn't seem right not seeing Bo and Luke in the General Lee.

The cast was great, their General Lee was faithful, but somehow it was a disaster. I only liked the city scenes, seeing the General Lee being driven out of the garage, and Jessica Simpson looking hot back then. This music video rocks even to this day.

Does anybody have feedback on the various DVD sets for the series that are available? I see a set from 2020 that is in Wal Mart and Amazon that looks like this: [ And another that looks like this: Is anybody familiar with both sets and have any feedback about the difference? I've heard that one of them may be in 16:9 instead of 4:3. I'd prefer the original 4:3. I have the Season 1 DVD, but it won't play in my blue ray player, 9nly on my PC, so I want to get a new complete set, but I want to avoid the 16:9 ratio.

Which season of the Dukes is your favorite? I couldn't really tell you mine 'cause I'm a relatively new fan and I haven't seen all the seasons yet.

I am 33 years old. And I still recall my first exposure to the Dukes TV show. I believe I was 6 years old. I think The Incredible Hulk was still on. My mother was watching the tube when I saw a colorful racing car jumping. It was bright orange; had the lettering of "General Lee" on the roof; a Confederate flag on the roof and the numbers "01" on the doors. At 6 years old, I was just enchanted by the car. I soon learned that the TV show was called The Dukes of Hazzard. There were cousins Bo, Luke, Daisy, their Uncle Jesse; their friend Cooter Davenport and their enemies Boss Hogg and Sheriff Rosco P. I started season 5 not too long ago and I've noticed that Cooter is missing from several episodes in the early middle of the season. He is explained to be on vacation but why was Ben Jones not present for filming?

What are ya'lls favorite special features on the DOH DVDs..... i loved the BBQ and the Good Ol' Friends ones, but then again I loved all the special features....lol!!

I couldnt find this topic when I did a search, but if this has been brought up before...sorry. I thought about this the other night. I mean a lot of hardcore old fans aren't thrilled with the people playing Boss, Bo, Luke, Daisy etc. However, what if this movie is a huge hit with the younger generation? What if those 15-20 somethings can't get enough of it. Would that popularity force WB make a new TV series? It wouldn't be the first time people have tried to cash in from the success of a movie. Thoughts?

This could possibly take weeks but since there is an interest in it I'll get started. I'm going to compile a list of residents of Hazzard as well as relatives that may or may not be residents. I'm not sure how many I'll do every time I post. I likely won't be consistent. As long as the interest remains I will continue to add to the list. If you want to know which episode the person was on I can look it up.

Hey y'all! I don't know how I've managed to keep this quiet for the week, but last weekend I went to a local car show. I saw a movie style General Lee and began talking to the man standing next to the car. It took me a minute to realise that I was talking to none other than Tom Sarmento. Yes that's Tom Sarmento as in the lead mechanic for the Dukes of Hazzard. We spent over an hour talking about stories and myths surrounding the cars and methodology the builders used back then. I didn't really see much of these guys in the series when I first watched it, or at least I don't remember them much (hey, I was only a kid then). Could someone give me some background info on these guys and how long they were in the show. Also, did they ever team up with Bo and Luke? P.S. I'm new here so forgive me if all this has been covered here before.

Now when Bo and Luke entered the garage, Boars Nest, Sheriff's office, the farm, etc are they on a set or really in that place? We see the General pull up to the garage or the Sheriff's office...when they enter the location is it somewhere else on a sound stage or at that location on the square? Why are some episodes a real farm is used and then the next episode a small set (fake farm) is used?

Greetings from Hazzard TN. Since we're talking about favorite characters on the Dukes, how about your favorite villains and bad guys. Nope. Boss Hogg and Rosco don't count. And no, Coy and Vance don't count either. But which of the villains did you like the best? You can choose a comical villain or one you felt was the most menacing. For comical villain, I liked big ole Bubba along with the guy from Laugh In in Find Loretta Lynn. My favorite most menacing villain is Judson Scott. I liked the characters he played. Very psychotic. What is everyone's feelings on the episodes, of which there were quite a few, where a cast member would either play an identical twin of a character, or the character would have an "alter ego" change of personality? Did you like them, or did you feel they were too silly an stretched the credibility of the series; and what was the best and worst of such episodes? About a year ago I made a definitive list of all such episodes, but I though I'll let other members try to name the episodes before I give the list.

Hey everybody, I was just thinking, you know the scenes of the episodes they show, while they're playing the music and the show is coming on? Well, we all know the episodes that the scenes are from but there's one on Coy and Vance's episodes that I don't think ever really happened. Remember when Coy threw Vance a dish in the kitchen and uncle Jesse gave them a hard look? I don't remember that from any episode, do you? ( I'm on season 5 and watching " The Return of The Mean Green Machine " as I type this)

I was in Target today and saw for $39.95 each Halloween costumes for Bo Duke and also one for the same price for a Luke Duke one. I didn't see a Daisy Duke one. They are based on the original actors from the TV series. They both have a John (or Tom) wig, a hat, a typical Dukes shirt and a belt buckle that says Dukes Of Hazzard on it. No mask of their faces though they are on the packaging. Pretty cool looking!

I have hinted to this new thread in the past. It's time to have a try. Now, Daisy Duke is my favorite character (beside Enos, of course ): Catherine is a beautiful woman, long legs, perfect silhouette, sweet smile and blue-green eyes (I know that men out there agree). BUT Daisy Duke is also famous because of her outfits, especially those short shorts that took her name. Along the show is the one who change her outfit in every episode, and sometimes also along the same episode. Ready for a belly-full of Daisy? A perfect show of short shorts and tight top. I find her fashion really graceful and never vulgar, don't you think? Stay tuned for more examples of Daisy's outfit…

i was just watching "money to burn" on the 1st season dvd. i think its episode 11. in the beginning of it, enos is chasing the general lee and bo says something on the radio to enos about having the catch them and enos says thats what i am about to do _______" i dont know what the last word is though. thought it might be beauregard since thats his real name but to be honest, at first, i thought he called him 'butter roll' LOL that would be funnier! let me know if u know what he says. its bugging me! :x thx

I heard that Tom suffered a black eye in the first reunion movie they tried to cover it up by putting make-up on but if look close at the last scene when him and john are standing in front of the bus you can see it . And they also tried to hide it by making him stand sideways in that scene when Rosco is confessing his crime to mama jo ". I also heard from john himself that Tom is accident prone he has fallen down in his own bathtub at his apartment.

Everyone is always either talkin' about Bo or Luke....but what about COOTER?

I had a dream last night... I went to Dukes Fest, and did lots of Dukes stuff. Then, I grabbed a hotdog or something and sat down. Ben Jones himself came up to me and said "Mind if I sit here?" so I agreed, and I got his autograph!

Trying to figure out where the location here in California was that they filmed the chase scenes in the country side. I remember that in the last couple years some or all of it burned...but I would still like to go out there in my Charger. Can anyone help? Thanks Corey

I just got gone watching "The Great Santa Claus Chase" and will watch the Dukes cartoon Christmas show when my grandkids come over tomorrow. I hope everybody has a very merry Christmas and as Boss says at the end of the episode "And God bless us every one."
