  1. Started by Jamanda,

One of Rosco's famous lines is, "Shame, shame, everyone knows your name." Does he say this line in either of the first two seasons? I don't recall hearing it when I watched the DVD.

  2. The original "Killer Shrews" movie of 1959 was...well, so dang bad, it became a cult classic. James Best starred in the original movie, which is reason enough to watch it if you get the chance. Then, you'll be all set for the sequel, due out soon, "Return of the Killer Shrews!" Yes, shrews. Nasty lil' varmints. Eeek. Hey, if they attack by the tens of thousands, it's scary, right? You betcha. I'm normally not one for horror films, but as a lifelong Dukes of Hazzard fan, I can't pass up a movie that has James Best, Rick Hurst, and John Schneider in it. I checked out the official website tonight, and the promo photos look interesting. Have a look: Return of the Killer …

  6. Started by RogerDuke,

I was watching the local news tonight and a guy just opened up a restaurant in Harborcreek (near Erie Pa) called Rosco's. He said it was his nickname in the military. When they were interviewing him, he was standing by a shirt hanging on the wall. It was a shirt to re-elect Rosco as Hazzard Country Sheriff. (Yes, they spelled it "country". ) It didn't have Rosco's picture on it. It was a bulldog. That made me wonder if he was a Marine since they occasionally used a bulldog as a mascot. It was really cool to see a Dukes reference on the local news. I don't think I've seen that since the show was on the air.

I just got an interesting call from my son-in-law. He was at his doctor's (up here in Erie Pennsylvania) and they started talking about various subjects. His doctor told him that his best friend just bought a vacation home in South Carolina. He then asked my son-in-law if he was familiar with Rosco P Coltrane from the Dukes of Hazzard. When my son-in-law said yes and that his father-in-law is a Dukes superfan, the doctor explained that the home was owned by James Best. Hmmm, I wonder if Rosco left any of his paintings on the walls or in the attic.

Does anyone here happen to know of a site where I can grab a few wavs from the show, particularly Roscoe's laugh and other various phrases? I've been less than successful so far in my searches.

Anyone seen this movie? I caught bits of it yesterday on TCM. Along with James Best being in it, it looks like a generally really good movie. From wikipedia (spoilers included) Peter Breck plays journalist Johnny Barrett, who thinks the quickest way to a Pulitzer Prize is to uncover the facts behind a murder at a mental hospital. So, he pretends to go insane and is locked up in the institution. While pursuing his investigation, he is sidetracked by the behavior of his fellow inmates. After a hospital riot, Barrett is straightjacketed and subjected to shock treatment. Barrett begins imagining that his exotic-dancer girlfriend (Constance Towers) is his sister, and experien…

  16. Just today I found this small interview/documentary from a Dutch TV show from 2002/2003 where they visit James Best. This was during the time the TV channel Veronica started re-airing the show which seemed to be quite a big deal. Thought it would be interesting to share. There's some parts which are in Dutch but most is English with some dutch subtitles or interesting video.

While whatching the season 2 DVD I noticed that Rosco is replaced in a few of the episodes. I was just wondering the real reason why James Best was not in those episodes. Anyone know?
