Hobie Hartkins Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Hey! I like the new heading we have but I think we need more Confederate flags in it and through the site! The Chicks FORMER Dixie chicks sold out, Lynyrd Skynyrd sold out...I hope we're not following suit! I have no respect for any of those that sell out! ( Although I like Skynyrd etc.) Skipper Duke and RogerDuke 2 Quote

( Although I like Skynyrd etc.) I just returned home from south of the Mason Dixon line (barely)...Winchester Virginia.....home of Patsy Cline. What a historic town. Went back and forth on which side they were on in the war. You sure see a lot more Confederate flags down there. Folks there are smarter than us Yankees. They know the Confederate flag represents Southern pride and not racism. If my roots weren't so deep I'd move South. I'm definitely southern at heart. Hobie Hartkins Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) It's all in the heart cousin Roger....that's why I hated to see Skynrd drop the flag and sell out to pressure. If Ronnie was still alive he would kick their butt!! Edited March 20, 2024 by Hobie Hartkins Skipper Duke 1 Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted March 20, 2024 Posted March 20, 2024 (edited) Hey guys! I just noticed something! I'm watching " Play It Again Luke" and one of the bad guys is named Hobie! Who would've known??? LOL! He was played by Ned Bellamy! Here's something else I noticed.....that bad guy was trying to kill Candy to get life insurance money to pay off gambling debts. It seemed like he was going to kill her one day and collect the insurance and pay the guy off the very next day! NOTHING pays off that fast! Especially life insurance! It's TV and the movies where anything can happen. Hehe. Quote
HossC Posted March 20, 2024 Author Posted March 20, 2024 Can I point out that this is the Hazzard Square thread which lists filming locations. I don't know why it's being used to discuss other issues when there are places for that elsewhere on HNet. Skipper Duke and Hobie Hartkins 2 Quote
Skipper Duke Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago HossC... The audio and on camera commentaries of Season 3 'And in This Corner, Luke Duke' by Tom Wopat (Luke Duke), John Schneider (Bo Duke) and Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke) mentions some of The Andy Griffith Show was filmed at the Hazzard Square set. Is it true? Quote
HossC Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago The trio correctly identified the square as the filming location of 'The Music Man' and 'The Gilmore Girls' (both already mentioned in this thread), and then Cathy says "and then didn't they film, um, Opie, uh, what's that, not Happy Days, um ...". She never finished the sentence and never mentioned Andy Griffiths, but it's fair to assume that that's what she was referring to as Ron Howard's character was Opie Taylor (and he was in 'Happy Days'). Exteriors for "The Andy Griffith Show" were mainly filmed at the RKO 40 Acres/Desilu backlot in Culver City, about 45 minutes south of the Warner Bros' backlot. I can't find any evidence of Andy Griffith filming in Burbank. The video below shows what's now standing where the backlots were, and mentions several other shows and movies that were filmed there. It also shows the former Desilu Studios in Hollywood. There's a brief Dukes tie-in at around 12:32 when they show a still of James Best from the 1959 movie 'Verboten!'. RogerDuke 1 Quote
