  2. It seems that the actor Parley Baer, who played "Mayor Stoner" on the show was always cast as an antagonist. He was brought on after the untimely death of actor Dick Elliot, who played the bumbling, more benign "Mayor Pike" in earlier episodes. Andy Griffith never wanted a mayor to be cast on the show originally, but the producers talked him into it. It seemed to show in the writing that the sheriff and mayor were always at odds with one another. Some interesting facts about Baer: Early in his career, he was a circus ringmaster. He was also a highly decorated captain in the Army Air Corps during WW2. To children who for many years watched Keebler cookie commercials, he was the voice of "Ernie the Elf!" :-)
  3. Dennis Guilder:"Charlie have you seen Arnie?" Charlie:"Yeah he's still in the shop Buddy Repperton has his lunch."
  4. Happy Father's Day. Alan Hale, Jr had four children as well as Bob Denver.
  5. About Society Brand Hat Co. A friend he said:"I don't think charging 199 for a hat is making things affordable! Not a whole lot would pay that."
  6. Sheriff Buford T. Justice: “I am telling you for the last time, I have my young son in the car, and I don’t want to hear that kind of language."
  7. (Season 3 Where There's a Will) Mr. Howell:"I know I'm an obnoxious overbearing old bore, and the only reason people care about me is because I'm rich!" Mrs. Howell:"You’re not an old bore…that’s what I’ve been telling people for years!"
  8. Sheriff Buford T. Justice:"What we're dealin' with here is a complete lack of respect for the law."
  9. (Season 3 Where There's a Will) Mrs. Howell:"Thurston those people out there are your friends!" Mr. Howell:"Friends!? Do friends shoot arrows at you, throw you to bottomless pit, try and crush you with a boulder!?"
  10. Intro to the 1963 Lost Pilot episode Marooned when TBS played it in '90s. Bob Denver:"As a long lost castaway, you might think I've seen it all. But I haven't. Cuz nobody's ever seen the original Pilot of Gilligan's Island. Thanks to TBS, now is my chance, as well as yours to see the show that launched a thousand rescues."

  13. Happy 85th Heavenly Birthday Waylon Jennings(Balladeer)6/15/37!
  14. Cousin Roger Duke... That is probably the tribute artist Paul Michael "Little Bo Duke".
  15. Did you notice in Season 3 episode Ring Around Gilligan, when Dr. Boris Balinkoff looks at the castaways thru his binoculars, as he looks at each 1, 1 by 1 the music counts off sounds like it is saying 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
  16. How do they conceal patch emblems on hats in movies and tv? The Midway Cap Co. hat of Alan Hale in Rescue From Gilligan's Island(1978) and Alf(1987) the machine made sewn on patch was a patch that didn't look like a patch. Also on Jim Backus's Midway Cap in Seasons 2(1965-1966 & 3 1966-1967) of the original Gilligan the patch does not look like one. Concealing it is tv and movie trickery? Do they CGI out get rid of the square backing keeping on the hat just the embroidered part of the patch?
  17. That Series Alf= Alien Life Form I saw Alf-Gilligan's Island Love it The whole episode I saw it In the opening scene Alf cracks joke at Willy. He says to Alf "Better hurry if you miss this rerun you'll have to wait 3 weeks before it's on again." Alf retorts "You know. It's people like you who drive quality programming off the air."
  18. (Season 3 Gilligan Goes Gung Ho) Mrs. Howell:"What did Gilligan say this is?" Skipper:"It's his own creation Mrs. Howell, it's Coconut Pot Pie!" Mr. Howell:"Well, I don't have to eat this slop! I've got friends on the outside, and one of them happens to be a chef!"
  19. (Season 2 Agonized Labor) Gilligan:"Mr. Howell, we heard late last night on the radio that the Howell Industries are completely wiped out, and you're flat broke! Whew! I'm glad that's over. You wanna go fishing Skipper?" Skipper:"Do I wanna go fishing!? Ooop!"
  20. (Season 3 It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Gilligan) Professor:"Alright! Out! Shoo! I will let you know the results the moment I am finished! Now go!"
  21. Gilligan's Island fans... A guy on a blog who said about the 2016 Benford Yacht Hat "Benford is contracted thru 1940s Midway Cap Co." he is wrong. No it's not. Benford is patterned after the R. I. P. Lancaster Uniform Cap Co.(1929-2011)
  22. (Season 1 My Fair Gilligan) Professor:"Skipper. Look at it this way, you're not losing Gilligan. You're gaining a benefactor. As Mr. Howell's son and heir, Gilligan could buy you a whole fleet ships." Skipper:"Professor, it's just that Gilligan's not cut out to be a millionaire's son. BUY ME A WHOLE FLEET OF SHIPS!?"
  23. (Rescue From Gilligan's Island 1978) Professor:"Last week I invented the electric toothbrush. The week before, pantyhose." Gilligan:"Why don't you invent something that hasn't been invented before?" Skipper:"Oh Gilligan! He knows that already! Only an idiot would invent something that's already been invented!"(Gilligan points at Professor.)Skipper:"I'm sorry Professor. I'm just trying to-" Professor:"It's alright Skipper in my anxiety to create the things I dreamed about on the island. But I fail to recognize some of them may have been created in my absence."
